Palestine-Israel, In the Bitunia murder, the joint struggle highlight again the most important aspect of Israelis involvement in it.

Many objections were raised about the participation of Israelis in the non armed struggle in the areas of Palestine occupied in the 1967 war. Some, mostly Palestinians regarded it as contribution to so called "normalization". Others claimed that Israeli activists should do their struggle within the Israeli population of the 1948 borders. Many anarchists raised reservations as the Palestinian popular struggle is a kind of capitalist "national independent struggle" for self determination of the Palestinian capitalist elite to monopolize the option for the exploitation of the Palestinian working masses - they just ignore the fact that most Palestinians wish for bi-national democratic whole Palestine and not for a national Palestinian state. Others just do not take on themselves the obligation to serve as life saving shield as Israeli policy officially forbid the state forces to shoot to kill when Israelis are supposed to be among the demonstrators. Indigenous people struggle against settler colonialist transfer and marginalization is NOT the same as a national Bourgeoisie for "national independence" or "national self-determination".

Bitunya

Two participants in the Bitunia demonstration near the Ofer Israeli concentration camp were cold blooded murdered with live ammunition of Israeli forces snipers and another seriously wounded. For technical reasons, only small parts of the footage showing the shooting incident in Bitunya were published in the media and on our website (http://bit.ly/1qT4NDt).

Friday 23.5.14 17 Israelis and quite a few internationals joined the local activists in the weekly demo against the wall and occupation in Bil'in. The organizers dressed up as prisoners and cuffed their wrists in solidarity with the hunger striking administrative prisoners. Just as we started to march from the Oak grove to the wall, the soldiers showered the procession with barrages of gas, not waiting for us to come anywhere near the wall. Only a few demonstrators managed to brave the gas. The shabab hurled stones at the violent soldiers and threw their gas canisters back at them. Cindy Corrie, Rachel Corry's mother, along with many others, suffered from gas inhalation, and was treated by a medical crew on the spot. One photographer suffered a leg injury from a gas canister.

Position paper about the Palestinian struggle. Adopted on 25 April 2014 by the members of the anarcho-communist Ahdut (Unity) organization active in Palestine/Israel

The Zionist colonization project, sponsored by the imperialist powers and at their service, has subjugated Palestine; it has persistently made every effort to displace the indigenous masses out of the area ruled by it, or at least to concentrate them in confined enclaves. ---- A section of the Palestinian people evaded the efforts to expel them and became citizens of Israel, suffering discrimination by law and customary practice. The State of Israel persists in measures aimed at dispossessing them. Lately these measures are focused on the Prawer Plan for the Negev, which evokes the 1970s plan of Judaizing the Galilee, and the events of Land Day (30 March 1976). Another section of the Palestinian people, in the territories occupied in 1967, live for the most part under military rule. The Israeli military authorities have much greater freedom of action in displacing the Palestinians or concentrating them in enclaves than is possible inside Israeli sovereign territory. As well as gradually seizing most of the Palestinians’ land, Israel obstructs their individual and collective economic development; denies their freedom of movement, assembly and speech; and suppresses by various means their resistance to the ongoing colonization and occupation. However, it should be noted that in Palestine there are not two separate economies: the Palestinians in the 1948 areas are fully integrated in the Israeli economy – as discriminated wage workers and as residents of towns and villages suffering from under-development; and a considerable part of the Palestinians in the West Bank work for Israeli owners or for local business enterprises, which sell their produce in the Israeli market – whether in the settlement projects in the West Bank or in the Israel’s official sovereign territory.

Most of the Palestinians driven out of the country and their descendants, as well as many of those who have evaded the waves of displacement and expulsion, live as refugees or internally displaced persons – whether in the territories conquered in 1948 or 1967 or in the neighbouring countries.

Over the years, the Palestinians have resisted their displacement, oppression and exploitation. In their various locations, resistance takes various forms: some demonstrative or symbolic, some direct action; some armed, some non-violent, some violent but unarmed. Most acts of resistance do not involve cooperation with Israelis opposed to Zionist policy, but some do involve cooperation with such activists. The multifarious resistance of the Palestinian toiling masses over the years has mainly succeeded in retarding and curbing the processes of subjugation, but regrettably it has generally been unable to turn the clock back.

We do not share the illusion of some sections of the Palestinian and Israeli toiling masses that in the present sorry situation the ‘two-state solution’ must be accepted. Partition of Palestine into two states has been promoted for about a hundred years by world powers including Britain, France, the US and the USSR. This is part of their general meddling in the Middle East, which has condemned it to an impasse, to despotic regimes, to ethnic and religious hostility and warfare, stymieing the economic and political development craved by the region’s inhabitants. Establishing a Palestinian state, whether it will be allocated 15% or 25% of the territory of British-mandate Palestine, will not resolve the fundamental problems of the country, and will certainly not ‘terminate the conflict’: at best it will be a compromise settlement between the Israeli capitalist elite and the collaborator regime of the Palestinian Authority; local agents will acquire a franchise for directly oppressing and exploiting the Palestinian population for their own benefit and for the benefit of foreign interests.

True, Israeli withdrawal from the territories occupied in 1967 would put a brake on the direct processes of dispossession and oppression of the Palestinians living there by Israel’s armed forces. It would presumably reduce the friction and confrontations between the inhabitants of the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the Israeli armed forces and settlers, as well as the Israeli military offensives, which inflame widespread hatred and reinforce nationalism among both conquerors and conquered. Such withdrawal may also make possible a limited return of refugees to the territory of the Palestinian state.

However, an accord establishing such a Palestinian state would bestow on Israel international legitimation of its conquests in the 1948 war and the nakbah – the dispossession, uprooting and expulsion of hundreds of thousands (by now millions). Such an accord would also reinforce the political and economic separation between the two parts of the country, in both of which there are Palestinian inhabitants, as well as separation between the Hebrew and Arab populations. This would hinder the struggle for a just conclusion of the ongoing confrontation with the Zionist movement – whose main victims are the Palestinian toilers, but which also harms in various ways the Hebrew toilers within Israel. So long as the refugees have not returned and retrieved what they had been robbed of; so long as the nationalist-Zionist Israeli regime – which excludes, discriminates and oppresses its Palestinian subjects and citizens – still exists, there will be no ‘termination of the conflict’.

Other sections of toilers, especially among the Palestinians, stand for establishing one democratic state for all the inhabitants of Palestine–Israel.

Should a single democratic state be established, it could provide equal civil rights to all its citizens, and put an end to the official institutional discrimination against the Palestinians. It would quite probably enable the return of the refugees. Also, setting up such a state would require dismantling the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority, in defiance of the aims of the imperialist powers. So this programme is based on a measure of hope rather than despair and acquiescence in the existing political order.

However, this hope is misguided, because so long as the capitalist-Zionist elite ruling Israel has not been defeated, the only single state that is attainable is the actually existing one. Even if the attempt to establish a single democratic state would succeed, let us not forget that states in general, and democratic states in particular, are political forms established and maintained by minority ruling classes, for maintaining oppressive and exploitative systems of social relations. The character of oppression and exploitation varies and becomes sophisticated in more developed countries, but its fundamental nature does not disappear even for one moment. In such a state the Palestinian and Hebrew toilers can look forward to living in a society like that of South Africa, where a small minority of white capitalists and their non-white junior partners possess most of the means of production and land, and multinational corporations enjoy ample freedom of action.

We reaffirm the conclusion reached by our predecessors in the struggle: defeat of the capitalist-Zionist ruling class and its project of colonization and dispossession requires a profound social revolution, not merely a political revolution but a transformation of the relations of production and all other fundamental social relations. Moreover, it is reasonable to assume that such a revolution will only be possible on a regional scale, in several neighbouring countries concurrently rather than separately in Palestine–Israel on its own. Only such a transformation will make it possible to construct a non-authoritarian society free from exploitation; in which liberty, equality and fraternity will really prevail; in which the accumulated nationalist hostility will dissipate.

Along with what has been said above, let us state the obvious: we shall participate, as an organization and individually, together with the Palestinian inhabitants of the West Bank and with Israeli and other activists, in the daily struggle against all aspects of the occupation and oppression in the 1967 occupied territories; we shall support and cooperate to the best of our ability with the struggle of the inhabitants of Gaza against Israel’s aggression and the Israeli–Egyptian siege; and shall be active inside the 1948 borders against the discrimination, oppression and dispossession of the Palestinian toilers who have Israeli citizenship.

There is not much of energy in the masses and many activists lost the urge to participate, but still many of us persist and join the meager efforts of the Palestinians who resist the advancing transfer efforts of the Israeli Zionist project and its state forces. Of today protest in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike in Israeli occupation jails...The protest was organized by Beit Ommar popular movement at the entrance of the town at road 60 connecting south to north. 10s of heavily armed Israeli occupation forces attacked the protesters physically using guns buts and platoons in addition to using tear gas and stun grenades. Three participants were arrested and severely beaten including Yousef Abu Mariya 40 years old (Coordinator of Beit Ommar Popular Movement), Ahmad ABu Hashem (spokesman of the Popular Movement) and Kobi Snitz 38 years old (Israeli activist). Thursday 15.5.14 Answering the call of the popular committees, hundreds of Palestinians staged a demonstration in front of the Ofer military prison compound, protesting the plight of Palestinian political prisoners. The IOF fired barrages of tear gas, plastic coated steel bullets and live ammunition. At least 10 people were taken to the hospital in Ramallah for treatment, including a photojournalist from Bilin who suffered gun shot wound to his abdomen and a head injury.

Clashes on May 16, 2014 in Betunia West Bank. Palestinians from the Ramallah area congregated this Friday in front of Ofer Military prison, at the same spot where two protesters were killed by IOF's live bullets the day before during clashes outside the Israeli-run Ofer prison following a protest to mark 'Nakba' or 'catastrophe' of the Jewish state's creation. forgone press published that Udeh and Nuwarah died in a Ramallah hospital after being shot in the chest during a protest near Ofer jail to demand the release of thousands of Palestinians held by Israel. The IOF, deployed on nearby roofs and a hilltop, attempted to disperse protesters by using barrages of tear gas canisters and rubber-coated steel bullets. For over two weeks, hundreds of Palestinian political prisoners are hunger striking for dignity and freedom. The local popular committee in the village of Nabi Saleh dedicated Friday's demonstration to the hunger striking prisoners and called for national and global show of solidarity. Palestinians and solidarity activists marched towards the main entrance to the village, where they were met with barrages of tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets. A paramedic was injured from three such bullets while assisting another injured young man.

South Hebron hills

Harassment of Palestinian farmers and shepherds in South Hebron hills
by both settlers and the army continues. These forces take over their lands
and prevent them from accessing it.

This coming Saturday, May 10, we will be heading again to our activity in

The Palestinian village of Tawayil, a satellite locality of the larger Akraba in the West Bank,is home to 250 persons.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2014, Israeli soldiers entered the village and demolished three dwellings, a mosque, a sheep pen and a chicken coup, leaving 29 people homeless.
The village has suffered repeated demolitions. Thus, for example, the Israeli army demolished two homes, three water cisterns and a sheep pen this past January.
The village lands lie east of it, and a larger part of them has been declared by the Israeli army as a firing zone, serving it for maneuvers. Limited in tilling their more distant plots, farmers of this village have not been able to reach some of them.

The government plans to evacuate this village numbering 4,000 inhabitants, in order to found a Jewish settlement named Omrit. Note that the Bedouin village Umm al Kheiran, too, is destined for destruction as the government intends to replace it with a Jewish settlement named Khiran.

Palestine-Israel, The moment of truth is nearing, but short time considerations still block it*

The mounting pressure of world imperial powers seems to cause a section of Israel capitalist elite to accept the compromise offered by the Palestinian elite. Another section still want to delay the deal either to enjoy the short term gains or to improve the deal. They think that they can delay the settlement till the November election in the US with out any risk. Mean time the creeping transfer efforts continue mainly in the C areas of the occupied west bank and the suppression of Palestinian popular rebellion. The popular struggle continue both to slow the creeping transfer and to recruit international pressure to quicken the end of occupation. The joint struggle in the south Hebron hill help the Palestinian farmers Tsumud (persistence), in he Sheik Jarakh it help to curb the transfer in the East of Jerusalem. At least ten young men were injured with rubber coated metal bullets in different parts of their bodies and dozens were the cases of suffocation, as the result of arbitrary repression carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against our weekly march.
Our protest against the occupation and the settlements started after the Friday prayers from Martyrs Square in the center of the village. This march was held in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike, as well as marked May day and solidarity with the struggle of the workers globally. Dozens of villagers and activists of the Popular Resistance have joined the march and also Israeli and international activists who succeed to reach the village, despite the declaration of the IOF of Nabi Saleh as a closed military zone
The march was attacked since when it started. Children, women and elders have tried to stop the impact of the violence of the soldiers. Hard clashes between angered youths and Occupation forces went on for many hours and the soldiers invaded the village shotting many tear gas inside the houses. One from the Palestinian youths was badly injured with a rubber-coated bullet in his shoulder and was taken to the hospital.

Don’t say we didn’t know #409

On Sunday, 20th April, 2014, at 6.00 p.m., five IDF jeeps entered the Palestinian village ‘Awarta, south of Nablus. Soldiers fired teargas grenades and stun grenades into four homes and a shop. The residents of those homes fled into the street to escape. The soldiers then hit a child and tried to detain another one. Someone from the village who tried to prevent the arrest was himself arrested, and only released after two hours. A three year old little girl required medical assistance.

The following day, the soldiers entered the village again and fired gas and stun grenades into homes. Then they left the village. Twenty people required medical help.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle on the background of Israel preparation for withdrawal*

The Israeli Zionist-capitalist elite start to feel that the point of a showdown is nearing fast. They already realized the total backup of the US is diminishing due to the change in its global interests and diminishing of its power... but it still gambling that dragging time may increase their gains in the sphere of lands grabbing and domination on the future Palestinian state. However, the painful understanding that they will not get all that they demanded all the time since the Oslo agreement is already here. The Palestinian ruling elites in the west bank and in Gaza too are on their compromising road as the Fatah old guard and the Hamas are now contemplating sharing the spoils. The joint struggle which contribute its share to the world wide mounting pressure on Israel to compromise continue in spite of the increasing pressure of Israel to put end to it.

Palestine-Israel, Though it seems lot of things are going to change soon - it is done in a slow motion.

The prolonged status quo between the Israeli ruling elite and the Palestinian elite reach a climax. Changes in the balances of power within the Israeli capitalist elite is still in slow motion, but you can feel the vibrations. The joint struggle of the Palestinian grass root activists and the Israeli radicals is not expanding, but the new wave of total refusnic military service of Israeli youth - which already passed the hundred seems promising. The joint struggle in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah, South Hebron Hills, Arkib (within Israel) and other places from time to time keep the flame in spite of the harsh repression. The involvement of Israeli Jews and to a lesser measure international activists still prevent a massive bloody massacre of the unarmed Palestinian demonstrators.

After a great popular demonstration with the support of our brothers and sisters - Palestinian, Israelis and internationals - we succeeded to re-open the gate at the entrance of the village and to end the siege of Nabi Saleh after three days of blockade. Also the west gate of the village now is open after about 12 years. We had to physically fight and resist against the most arrogant army in the world. The IOF today beaten us and shot bombs against us, as well as tear gas, rubber coated bullets and pepper spray. An excessive reaction considering that we were demonstrating in a non violent popular way. Murad Tamimi, taken during the protest, is still under detention.
Today, amongst our demands there was also the freedom of movement for all Palestinian and the end of the check point, walls and gate system that is dividing the West Bank and the Palestinians.
We demand the release of Murad Tamimi and of Mariam Barghouti - arrested in Nabi Saleh Friday - immediately.

Nabi Saleh - 18/04/2014 Palestinians and solidarity activists marched today to commemorate Palestinian prisoner day, calling for the release of thousands jailed by Israel. In addition, marchers also commemorated the anniversary of the martyrdom of Khalil al-Wazir (Abu Jihad), assassinated by Israel in 1988 in his Tunis home.
The IOF responded with barrages of tear gas and rubber-coated steel bullets in an attempt to disperse the demonstration. No major injuries reported.The Israeli refusnics joined the Friday demo in Nabi Saleh

Nabi Saleh weekly protest marched to the spring that was expropriated by settlers since 2009. From its beginning the march was attacked by soldiers that fired tear gas in large amount. Near the spring, another group of soldiers formed, to protect it and the settlers from the non violent demonstrators. Behind the soldiers the settlers enjoyed the spring water. One of the settlers called on soldiers, in front of her children, to shot and kill all the protesters. Armed security officer of the settlement ,together with another armed civilian, were spotted directing and giving instructions to the officer in the field. The disciplined soldiers changed their arbitrary firing and fired arbitrary large amounts of tear gas to the direction that was given by the settlers. Settlers expensive toy helicopter with a camera flew over Nabi Saleh as if to get intelligence on protesters concentrations. It was a hot day. Between weeds and stones, small grasshoppers bounced, black centipedes were everywhere.The demonstrators had to watch out: flying tear gas canisters that were aimed low and was shot more than once above their heads, also not to get too close to the violent soldiers, and other real snakes. The children of the settlers had to watch out snakes only. A couple of hours after the demonstration, military helicopter landed in and rounded by ambulances . It trend out they came to evacuate a settler Child that was bitten by snake. Local history teaches that injured Palestinian demonstrators do not get that kind of help from the soldiers that attacks them, yet on channel 10 the next day a reserve soldier explain to a group of young Israeli refusals how the most just and moral army in the world help the Palestinian people. He said that he was helping Palestinian people a lot as a military paramedic. A group of young refusals joined the weekly demonstration and saw for them selfs how the soldiers (only one or two years their senior) demonstrate brutality"

Arafat Jaradat of the Palestinian village Se'ir, near Hebron, was arrested on February 18, 2013. He was interrogated by the Shabak (Israel's General Security Services). His death was established on February 23rd 2013. An Israeli coroner declared his death of natural causes. It now appears that an internationally-renowned coroner, Dr. Sebnem Korur fincanci concluded that he died of torture he suffered under interrogation.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2014, government agents escorted by police demolished Bedouin homes in the Negev. A house in the village of A-Zarnouk, north of road 25, was demolished, as was a home in Khirbet Al Watan, south-west of Hura.
On Wednesday, April 9, 2014, again Bedouin homes in the Negev were demolished. Two were destroyed in A-Za'arura, east of Kseife, and one in Abu Krinat, south-west of Aro'er. A home was demolished as well in Umm Batin, east of Tel Sheva.
And yet again, Al Arakib was demolished.

Palestine-Israel The struggle and the joint struggle continue in spite of the stand still*

May be it is because the Arabic Spring and the wave in the developed countries raised too much the hopes for change followed by disillusions. May be it was (like the big wave in Israel that mobilized about 10% of the population) a kind of releasing pressure valve... The struggle still continue, but the number of participants diminished and the moral of those who continue is not high. The smaller flame of hope for a radical change in our tortured home land is nourished by the change in the imperial power balance, the gradual withdrawal of the US from the region and the increasing pressure for change by Europe with the B.D.S. at its front. But, the joint struggle continue, and the gradual bunt out of many of the old timer activists of the anarchists against the wall is partly replaced by the new wave of total refusnics of mandatory military service for high school graduates and the activists of the anarchist-communist Ahdut.

Bil'in

Friday 4.4.14 - the smallest ever Friday demo. Due to a parallel demonstration at the Ofer concentration camp by the coordination comity of popular struggles, only 5 Israelis with the anarchists against the wall initiative joined 5 activists of the village and 10 internationals.
We marched to the gate in the separation wall chanting, with only two flags - the Palestinian one and the anarchist redNblack one. Then we marched along the wall between the two wire fences "protecting" it... but not any tear gas or noise grenades were thrown on us - the first ever Friday demo without armed forces harassment.


Bil'in 11.4.14 Friday demonstration. About 24 Israelis - 10 with the AAtW and 14 with Ahdut (The anarcho-communist organization) and 10 internationals joined the Bil'iners in the Friday demonstration. We marched to the gate in the separation wall and then along the wall to the Abu Lamun oak wood. After a while the state forces started to shower tear gas canisters on the stone throwing shabab and the wind carried it towards us. We stayed as long as we can till the tear gas started to suffocate us... And then the hospitality of Wajee cured us.

Nabi Saleh

11.4.14 Palestinians, accompanied by Israeli and international activists gathered in Martyrs Square at the center of Nabi Saleh, in order to mark the weekly Friday demonstration against the occupation and land annexation. Demonstrators marched down the street and into the nearby valley, reaching close to al-Qaws spring (expropriated by the settlement of Halamish) when they were attacked by tear gas and stun grenades, hurled by IOF soldiers attempting to disperse the march. No major injuries reported. However, two Palestinian female activists and three journalists were detained at the entrance to the village. While the journalists were eventually released, the Palestinian women were arrested and taken to police interrogation.

4.4.2014 demo of the coordination comity of popular comities hundreds of Palestinians staged a demonstration in front of the Ofer military prison compound, protesting the plight of Palestinian political prisoners protesting Israel's retraction of the last prisoner release agreement.The IOF fired barrages of tear gas, plastic coated steel bullets and live ammunition. At least 10 people were taken to the hospital in Ramallah for treatment, including a photojournalist from Bilin - Mohammad Basman Yassin who suffered 2 gun shots wounds - one to his abdomen and one to his face. 17 Palestinians injured by Israel's fire including live ammunition.

Qaddum

Two Palestinians arrested during weekly demonstration in Kafr Qaddum Friday the 11th of April, during the weekly demonstration in Kafr Qaddum, the Israeli army arrested two Palestinian youths.
As with every Friday, the demonstration [which has taken place since 2011] began after morning prayers with the people of Kafr Qaddum marching through the village to protest against the illegal settlement of Qedumim. Located on the hills South East of Kafr Qaddum, the presence of this illegal settlement has meant the frequent closure of a road that Palestinians use to travel to the city of Nablus, as well as the illegal seizure of village land. Yesterday the march stopped at a place on the road where Area B [Palestinian civil control and joint Palestinian and Israeli security control] and Area C (solely Israeli civil and security control) meet. The march was halted by an onslaught of tear gas canisters by the Israeli forces, while Palestinian youths threw stones towards the soldiers.
The violence continued to escalate, as two Israeli military jeeps, a “skunk” truck [a large vehicle capable of spraying chemicals at a high velocity that leaves a putrid smell for over a week and burns the skin], a military bulldozer, and around 12 Israeli soldiers arrived at the demonstration. Unusually a traditional wedding also joined yesterday’s protest march. The groom’s family and friends danced amongst the marchers giving the weekly protest an optimistic and happy feel, until the Israeli army attacked and arrests began to take place.
Two young Palestinians were captured during the demonstration. Raleb Halmi (21), a student at Birzet University and Ibrahim Adunan Iomma (21), a student at Al Quds Open University. They have both been taken to Huwwara’s army base with no information available on when they will be released or what they are charged with. The clashes continued until the afternoon, with Israeli soldiers using the bulldozer to clear large stones from the road in order to access the village. At around 4:30PM the army moved back to the settlement and fortunately, despite an abundant use of tear gas, the protest ended without any injuries.
