Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue facing increased efforts to transfer Palestinians from area C mainly*

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue facing increased efforts to transfer Palestinians from area C mainly.

When the world media is focused on the war mongering of israel directed to Iran, the naZionist settler colonialists efforts directed towards the Palestinian farmers in area C intensify. More suppression efforts are directed to Nabi Saleh and Qaddum who are in the front of the resistance. Other confrontations are a plenty in the South of Hebron Hills where the colonialist settlers are the main attackers and the state forces "only" help them. Lot of house demolitions are a daily phenomena. Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Ma'asara who started the persistent non armed popular struggle against the separation fence and occupation floated to the margin of both suppression and media reporting. The sporadic vigils within Israel and more so in Tel Aviv seems to be on the margin of attention only.

Bil'in

Though no dramatic conflicts there any more, and the site of the wall not viewed from the village, the joint struggle continue. This Friday seen the usual demo at the the Abu Lamun park and the near by separation wall. We were about dozen Israelis with the anarchists against the wall, nearly two dozen internationals and similar number of Bil'iners. After initial verbal confrontation mainly, the conflict intensified to tear gas canisters, skunk water spray and even marginal invasion of state force through the far away gate. In spite of the state forces intention to disperse us quickly, the strong northern wind dispersed the tear gas and nearly neutralized it till a real efforts was initiated and put end to the demo.

Nabi-Saleh

"Around 100 protested against the occupation of the village spring and its agriculture land by the IOF and settlement of Halamish. Four arrested while marching towards the stolen land".
"Israeli soldiers just arrested 4 protesters in NabiSaleh. Local cameraman Bilal Tamimi, an Israeli activist and two internationals"

Kuffr Qaddum

Israeli Military attempts to crush weekly Kufr Qaddum demonstration, 6 arrested.
Four human rights defenders (3 British citizens and an American), as well as two Palestinians, were arrested at the weekly Kufr Qaddoum demonstration. They are currently detained in the illegal Kedumim settlement police station for interrogation. The two Palestinians, Majed Faruq, 20, and Abd al-Latif Faruq, 24 were arrested from inside their homes as the army stormed the village.

The villagers of Kufr Qaddoum demonstrate weekly against the closure of the road from their village to Nablus since 2002. The Palestinians are not allowed to travel the most direct route to Nablus, 13 km away, due to the positioning of nearby illegal Israeli settlement Kedumim. The commute to Nablus from Kufr Qaddoum is now doubled.

Although the weekly Kufr Qaddoum demonstrations have been going on for over a year, the Israeli military has recently upped efforts to stop the demonstration from occurring. In the past two weeks, the soldiers have entered the village before the midday prayer and the beginning of the march towards the closed road, surrounding the mosque and firing tear gas into the crowd. Three people, including an Israeli press activist [with the AAtW], were injured as tear gas canisters were shot directly at them, hitting them in the arms. In addition to tear gas and sound bombs, after the arrests the Israeli military entered into the village with a skunk water truck. The checkpoints around the village were closed by the Israeli military until 5 p.m.

The Israeli military has been continuing their arrests of villagers: soldiers came early yesterday morning, Thursday 20 September at 2:30 a.m. to arrest four young Palestinian men: Taka Mohammad, 17, Mohammad Amir, 16, Yosouf Shtaiwi, 20, and Nadir Amer, 23. Anas Waleed Barham, 22, was arrested early Wednesday morning at a checkpoint. Another resident of Kufr Qaddum, Ahmad Shtaiwi, 22, remains in prison since his arrest March 16th.

The nonviolent human rights defenders have been charged with throwing stones and being in a closed military zone. There are reports that the detainees were beaten during the arrest, although this remains unconfirmed.

The four international activists were sentenced to seven days house arrest in Tel Aviv and are taken care of by the AAtW activists.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle is still on after a year of big hopes and bigger disappointment

There were high hopes at the beginning of the year both about the joint struggle against the occupation, about the social struggle, and about the treatment of guest workers families and the refugees. In all three of them there is a clear setback. Only one village (Qadumm) was added to the persistent weekly demonstrations, and settler colonialists harassments intensify the efforts to transfer villagers fro area C. Most of the activists of last year social struggle were lured to the parliamentary quagmire. Many of the guest worker families with children an lot of refugees were deported. More and more refugees are arrested and taken to the huge concentration camp most of the refugees are supposed to be incarcerated in... In spite of disappointment and the Autumn blues the struggle continue.

Beit Ommar

‎A weekly demonstration took place on Saturday 15th September at the entrance to the Gush Ezion compound, north of Beit Ommar. Palestinian, Israeli and international activists, joined by a large media contingent, assembled on the roundabout on the Hebron-Jerusalem road which marks the turning to the bloc of nine Israeli settlements. A number of occupation soldiers and police were present at the demonstration, which was the first Organized by Beit Ommar Popular Committee in this location. The demonstrators carried banners addressing three main grievances. Firstly, a message was directed at the anti-Islamic film which has sparked protests across the Arab world, refusing to resort to extremism, in spite of the deliberately provocative nature of the film. They added that the film reflects only on the ignorance and prejudice of its makers, not on Muslims. The second message was one of remembrance of the victims of the massacres at Shatila and Sabra, the thirtieth anniversary of which is 16-18th September. The massacre resulted in the deaths of many hundreds of Palestinian refugees at the hands of a Lebanese militia, with both the independent MacBride commission and the Israeli Kahan commission reporting that the Israelis, who controlled the camps, bore responsibility for the atrocities. The protesters also denounced the continued violence and intimidation which Israeli colonists inflict upon Palestinians, such as the Molotov cocktail attack on a Palestinian family which took place last month, for which Gush Ezion settlers were responsible. The Palestinians reiterated that this kind of terrorism would not prevent them from accessing the land which is legally theirs.

Bil'in

Dozen Israelis with the anarchists against the wall Joined about 10 internationals and two dozens of Bil'iners for the Friday weekly protest against the wall and occupation.
Four of us carried a coffin simbolizing the burial of the Oslo accord.
The state forces responded as usual with spray of the "odor of Israel" skunk water, and tear gas. Due to the strong northern wind and being too careful... I missed the weekly tear gas fix. An Israeli activist (mathematician) who mis calculated the trajectory of an approching tear gas canister was injured in addition to it few other comrades got too much of the weekly tear gas fix.

Al-Ma'sara weekly demonstration, Sep. 14, 2012

About 10 Internationals, 5 Israelis and about 30 Palestinians many of whom are children marched through the village to the main road. As we came closer to the main road members of al Ma'asara popular committee and others chained themselves with a long chain, held signs denouncing the Oslo Accords and called for the release of all political prisoners. The army were restrained as we walked to the olive and fruit tree grove. After a while two young children climbed on top of one of the army jeeps and the army decided to take one prominent member of the committee to be detained. A quick, quiet and calm de-arrest ensued by a few Israelis and an Italian activist. The Palestinian activist managed to escape.

At this point the army decided to enter the village on foot but then thought better of it as we started to form a line opposite them. We then sat on the road opposite the soldiers chanting and a few speeches were given. The organizers then called an end to the successful protest vowing to return next week like they have every week for over 5 years. As we walked back to the village some activists raised the bar and some stones were thrown in the direction of the army.

The restrain on behalf of the army comes after years of brutal and violent crackdowns on the protesters which nevertheless has never stopped them from asserting their rights to land, water, freedom and justice.

Kufr Qaddom

"Five of us traveled to the weekly demonstration in Qaddom. We stopped in the village Izbat Tabib for discussion the demolition / expropriation / expulsion that Israel intends to "reward" them to the 300 residents as homage for the new Jewish year (Rosh Hashana}. Following two hours of discussions we continued a bit late, to Qaddom.
From a distance we noticed that the main entrance is blocked by a cluster of armed forces, we did not understand why, but to be on the safe side we found an alternative route because we did not want to undermine the tranquility of the state forces. We climbed on foot up to village skipping the stones blocks spread generously along the alleys of the village.
On rooftops and high windows we identified intensive activity, we could only speculate that following a surprise visit by representatives of the state forces opening an hunting season in the alleys. We continued slowly and finally we arrived in a higher stretch of the village and later to the confrontation front. But there we had not identified strategic activities other than burning tires and standard local ineffective stones artillery. Up the hill north we observed very large amount of armed forces, sitting or standing comfortably.
Just as we began to feel bored - apparently following a cue from the Shabab to the troopers the quiet was suddenly broken with a heated race to the west, when the troopers follow us and on our sides. When the fight mist faded we discovered that two our own and three of the shabab are listed as missing. Later it turned out that our friends were kidnapped and were rushed to the police station at the illegal colonialist settlement of "Ariel". Accused of being in a closed area occupation, and finally transported overnight in Hadarim prison. Three Palestinians were arrested (by the way, were kidnapped right out of their home if not participated in the demonstration) released around 18:00.

Participants (estimated): 7 international, 150 Qaddumers, and five Israelis. Two Israeli activists who were arrested in kadum Friday. Were brought to court Saturday night and released on bail.

Palestine-Israel, The world economic and power struggle turbulence diverge the struggle*

It is a long way since the first struggle of the anarchists against the wall started in the Mas'ha camp nine years ago. The joint struggle against the separation fence persist and expand to other locations and to other aspects of the occupation. The struggle also expand in the old boundaries of Israel to the social struggle of dwelling problems and gentrification in both Jewish and Palestinian communities, and to the general social struggle against the piggish neo-liberalism. The focus of struggle regarding guest workers harassments shifted to the refugees struggle against persecution, mass arrests and deportation. The bogus preparations of the war mongers for bombing of Iran initiated lot of vigils.

Beit Ummar

A 12 year old Palestinian boy was Saturday kicked in the leg by an Israeli soldier, knocking him to the ground. Protesters gathered around him and he was carried away from the soldiers, where he recovered with no major physical damage. The Commander of the Israeli forces in the village refused to comment on the kicking of the boy when questioned.

Bil'in

Israeli activists of the anarchists against the wall initiative, a German and Spanish delegates participated in the Friday protest along with the local residents and other international activists.
"About 10 Israelis and over 20 internationals joined the weekly Palestinian demonstration against the wall and occupation in Bilin. We marched to the wall, crossed the barbed wire "protecting" it, and within less than a minute were bombarded with tear gas. The unfavorable wind forced us away, but some demonstrators regrouped a little further north and stood their guard despite the tear gas, sound bombs and skunk water. Then some kids braved the rubber bullets with their stones for a while, until the demonstration was declared over, and we went to greet Nizar (the older son of Abu Nizar - a member of the local popular comity against the separation fence) at his wedding."

The protest took place as Elad, which is responsible for the settlement, held its 13th annual archaeological conference, showcasing its achievements in excavating Silwan and restoring the neighborhood's supposed Jewish heritage. Alongside its extensive archaeological and tourist activities, Elad also established several residential settlements in Silwan, establishing a Jewish presence at the hearth of a Palestinian neighborhood, and setting in motion a chain of events which last year resulted in a series of clashes with hundreds of arrests and at least two deaths.

Qaddum 7,9,2012

When we reached the road to the village journalist teams told us that the road is blocked, so we parked the car and walked on foot to the village through the olive orchards so we arrived a bit late. At the outskirts of the village we were greeted warmly by the Shabab with cold water. We were told also that the whole village is surrounded. They told us about the beginning of the demonstration we missed: 'the march began as usual and after burning tires and shabab protesters dispersed throughout the whole village. Rock barriers were built every where as night raids are common and the village activist were ready. On all the roofs of the village were boys and men informing the demonstrators about every movement of the army."
After we drank, we joined the Shabab and called the soldiers to lay down their arms and join the demonstration for a joint Jewish-Arab protest, for peace equality and social justice. We explained to the soldiers the Supreme Court verdict that the disputed road should be open and about the price paid by the villagers as it is being closed. The soldiers were also warned not to obey orders to avoid standing trial at the International Tribunal for war crimes in The Hague... Surprisingly none of the soldiers put his weapon down and none of them joined us.
After burning another round of tires we find out the army raided the village by a bulldozer, two jeeps and infantry. The jeeps movement was difficult due to the barriers and the roofs people constantly guided the protesters how to escape them. So thanks to the excellent organization of the demonstration non were injured, detained or arrested.
During the hustle and bustle we found ourselves at the back yard of a family who offered us cold water, tea and coffee. Antennas of jeeps appear occasionally as jeeps turned around in circles on the few roads that were not blocked.
After about 20 minutes the army left the village, we thanked our hosts and returned home from the demonstration.

Following the excellent demonstration we conducted in front of the government complex (https://www.facebook.com/events/484334461578940/) we are going to enter into the heart of public sphere. We will meet at the corner of Habima and march throughout the Rothschild Boulevard. We will stop and try to convince people to support us.

The soldiers provided Eritreans tarps to cover themselves from the burning sun. The soldiers received an order to give asylum seekers "as little water as possible."
Until yesterday (05/09/2012) The IDF prevented the transfer of food brought by social activists to the asylum seekers at least twice.

The order not to allow social activists to pass food to the asylum seekers is illegal, and unfortunately until they were told otherwise, the IDF soldiers at the scene complied. We call them to change their stance and refuse not to pass food asylum seekers. We call to punish and/or press charges to those who should have disobeyed this shameful order and the commander\s who ordered it.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue in turbulent times

In addition to the regular locations of struggle the anarchists against the wall combine forces with the local popular comities of activists: Beit Ommar, Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nebi Saleh, Ni'ilin, and Qadum, comrades joined additional struggles. Sheikh Jarrah, South of Hebron Hills, and within Israel: Haifa regional court, Saharonim concentration camp, and demos against the war mongering. The uncertainty regarding the exploding of the Tycoons bauble, the economy slump, the war mongering regarding Iran and the scandalous treatment of the refugees dump a bit the energy of the activists. The continuous and escalating of transfer efforts of Palestinians farmers in the main targets of Jordan valley, South of Hebron Hills and the hoses demolitions result in may minutes of felt helplessness.

For the army, nothing has changed. This is the law in these parts. Artists, you can take a stand against it. Cancel your show in Israel!"
The weekly Friday demonstration in Nabi Saleh commemorating Rachel Corrie was met with violence by the Israeli military. Soldiers used tear gas, rubber coated steel bullets, skunk water and live ammunition as they attempted to suppress protesters.
Breaking news: reports from activists in Nabi Saleh that a Palestinian youth has been shot in the stomach with live ammunition. He has been evacuated by ambulance.
‎5 arrested in Nabi Saleh so far, amongst them, local cameraman, Bilal Tamimi. Meanwhileת Bil'in, popular committee leader, Muhammad Khatib who participated, got arrested.
Palestinian youth shot with live ammunition through the hand. Bullet also pieced his stomach. He was eventually evacuated to hospital, after the Israeli military had detained his ambulance for sometime at the entrance of the village. South of Hebron Hills

Solidarity with what Israel claim to be "fire zone 918"

Solidarity Visit in the Villages Slated for Demolition in the South Hebron Hills ("Firing Zone 918").

The residents of the villages, together with the activists and groups active in the area, invite you to a solidarity visit in the villages which stand in immediate danger of demolition by the Israeli army and its "Civil Administration." The Israeli Minister of Defense, Ehud Barak, recently gave orders to destroy eight Palestinian villages in the South Hebron Hills and to expel from their lands the 1,500 residents of the area. The residents are defined, in the Minister's statement, as "squatters on Firing Zone 918." This definition blatantly ignores historical documentation which proves that these villages have existed for hundreds of years. "Firing Zone 918," on which the army is demanding it be able to train so as to "preserve the necessary competence of the IDF's forces," encompasses 30,000 dunams (over 7,000 acres) in the South Hebron Hills, including privately owned land and farming areas. Under the interim agreement that followed tho Oslo Accord and that was signed in 1995 60.2% of the West Bank is defined as "Area C," meaning that it is under complete Israeli civil and military control (this agreement was supposed to expire within five years from its signing). The Israeli Government has since pursued a consistent policy in Area C aimed at deepening the permanent Israeli control over the area and to minimize the ability of Palestinians to live in it . This policy is implemented through a number of different methods: confiscation of lands via unilateral declarations of "State Land", "National Parks" and "Special Security Zones"; through the non-provision of building permits (over 95% of the applications for permits filed by Palestinians between 2000 and 2009 were denied), the subsequent demolition of houses and structures built without permits,` through the intentional lack of master plans for the area (which enables Israel to decide and declare virtually anything as an "illegal structure"), and, of course, through closing areas declared as "Army Training Areas" or "Firing Zones." About 18% of the West Bank has been declared closed "Firing Zones." The existence of Israel's regime of separation and discrimination is nothing new for the South Hebron Hills or for Palestinians living in Area C in general. At the same time that this threat of demolition hangs over the heads of these eight villages, and others in the area, including Susiya, dozens of settlement outposts are being constructed and established in the same area, without hindrance.

The threat of eviction has hung over these eight villages since 1999. Their fate is to be decided now!

On August 31 we will go on a solidarity visit in some of the villages slated for demolition. come show support, ask questions, and see for yourself the villages which Israel's government and army intend to erase.

Haifa regional court

Israeli court rules that state was not at fault in. Rachel Corrie's death. Just a reminder, she was ran over by a IOF bulldozer trying to prevent a house demolition. No justice under apartheid.
