Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle within Israel collect momentum*

The struggle of the Bedouins within Israel against the mass transfer since the 1948 war expand to the whole of Israel and even to the areas conquered in the 1967. In addition to the regular locations of joint struggle in the 1967 areas: Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Ma'asarah, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah, and South of Hebron hills the Bedouins struggle drew more and more activists of the anarchists against the wall. The Arakib village struggle expand immensely with the Praver plan as the focus. Preparations for the August one actions are in vigor. Previous Saturday, a big joint demo in Rahat - the biggest town of the Bedouin region tens of thousands already transfered to: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=629028177115694

After the demo many activist traveled to the Al-Arakib village already demolished more than 50 times in the last three years.

The village of Al-Arakib was re-built

demonstration against the demolition of the village Al-Araqib. for 3 years this village was demolished again and again and was rebuilt. On Saturday we stood in solidarity with the village people.

Following the first 'Day of Rage' against the planned uprooting of tens of thousands of Palestinian Bedouin in the Naqab (Negev) on July 15, Palestinian activists inside Israel have called a second 'Day of Rage' for August 1. On July 15, thousands of Palestinian citizens of Israel along with Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and regional refugee camps, held numerous demonstrations against the so-called Prawer Plan being advanced by the Israeli government. Protesters marched, blocked roads, and were violently dispersed by security services (including several arrests). This second 'Day of Rage' promises to be even bigger, as Palestinians assert their opposition to a plan condemned just this week by UN human rights chief Navi Pillay.

Ma'asarah

Friday July 26. Tracking and detention of Palestinian activists // Call for access to water During the weekly protest, on the third Friday of the Holy month of Ramadan, Israeli Forces detained Mahmoud Aladeen (27), member of the Popular Struggle Committee and tracked Mahmoud Zwahre (42), coordinator of the PSC, after questioning him and holding his car for couple hours. As Zwahre was arriving in the village in his car, police border officer immediately recognized him and stopped him for questioning. Zwahre found a way to escape but he was then hunted down for an hour, soldiers entering and searching houses. Aladeen, who was with him in the car, could not get away and was detained for three hours.

The march started after the noon prayer, calling to end the Israeli occupation and its unequal exploitation of West Bank resources, focusing on access to water. For the past two month, there is not a single drop of water reaching Al Ma’asara and other villages of southern West Bank. Despite the high temperature and the particular circumstances of Ramadan, most of Palestinian villages and towns don’t have access to the necessary quantity of water and some are completely deprived.

The Local Council of South Bethlehem area requested Israeli authorities’ explanation about the restrictions on water; they were retorted that the PA is gathering all water resources toward the main cities of Bethlehem, Alhul and Hebron. But from the PA perspective the blame rests on the Israeli authorities who monopolize water for the welfare of illegal settlements.

Bil'in

Today Friday 26.07.2013 - In the demo participated an Italian Parliamentary delegation led by Luisa Morgantini (former vice president of the European parliament). Members of the PSC gave a comprehensive explanation about the Israeli violations in Bil’in for the past eight years; and they explain the strategy of the popular resistance in Palestine.

The march started after Friday prayers from the center of the village toward the Apartheid wall protecting Modiin settlement. The participants: dozen of the AATW initiative, two dozen internationals, and Palestinian villagers raised Palestinian flags and chanted slogans calling to end the occupation, to demolish the Apartheid wall and to free Palestinian political prisoners. As soon as the march reached the area near the wall, Israeli soldiers, protected behind the wall, fired rubber bullets, tear gas and sound grenades at demonstrators.

Two were injured during Bil'in weekly protest. Journalist Haitham al-Khatib (37) was hit by a tear gas canister in his back clearly aimed at him by Israeli soldiers; "in the weekly demonstration against the wall, the Israeli army threw tear gas directly at protesters. I was hit by a tear gas canister while I was taking pictures. One other protester was shot at the leg with a rubber coated steel bullet and lots of people suffered from the inhalation of the gas" and Mahmoud Samara (18) was injured by a rubber bullet in his leg. Both are reported to be well now. In addition, it was few cases of suffocation after inhaling tear gas were reported.

NABI SALEH

From early morning, Nabi Saleh was declared by the Israeli military as a “closed military zone“. The weekly protest of Nabi Saleh, headed mainly by women and children, calls to end Israeli occupation, and focused today on the prisoners’ issue. Activists chanted slogans in support for the Palestinians prisoners in Israeli prisons, for the hunger strikers among them Abadallah Barghouti and Muhamed Rimawi.
The group marched from the center of the village and attempted to reach the spring which was confiscated by the nearby settlement of Halamish. But as every Friday, the Israeli Forces attacked the non violent protest with a massive use of tear gas and rubber bullets. No injuries were reported.
Regardless, the Popular Struggle Committees will never stop their struggle against the Israeli occupation.

Friday, June 26, 2013, weekly demonstration in the West bank village Qaddum - located east of Qalqiliya, against the permanent road block preventing free access to the regional town Nablus, the occupation and the encroaching settlements. There have been regular demonstrations in Kfer Qaddum since July, 2011, protesting the blocking of the main road east of the village which used to link it to Nablus.

During the demonstration in the village Shabab throws stones at an army bulldozer invading village.

Palestine-Israel, Just another week of joint struggle in an unpredictable times*

The frantic efforts of the Israeli authorities to advance the transfer of Palestinians both within the 1948 borders and the 1967 ones is interwoven withe realization that the tide is changing. The rhetorics of the rightists and their harsh activities seems to be a kind of religious ritual intending to counter the contradicting reality. The joint struggle continue both with farmers of the south of the west bank to resist the settler colonialists harassments and the popular comities contesting the separation fence and occupation. Bedouins in Israel south, farmers in the west bank, Bil'in, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah. Another activist with the anarchists against the wall had a metal bullet coated with rubber extracted from her foot after shot from illegally short range while video documenting. The social struggle within Israel continued in a decrease intensity

Bil'in

This Friday, About dozen Israelis and few international activists joined Ramadan's Bil'iners in the never ending struggle against the separation fence and occupation. This week the heroic state forces threw some tear grenade while we walked against the wall to test a new brand of tear gas that mainly bother the eyes and not breathing.
We completed the march and defied for a while the barrage of tear gas grenades till we decided to return to the village.

Nabi Saleh

Activists are reporting that today's demonstration is coming to an end. During the demonstration village children confronted the IOF and sang freedom songs. The IOF invade the village at least twice and were firing directly and randomly at protestors. At least three injuries, including one woman shot in leg and evacuated to Tel Aviv and a Palestinian child was hit in his back by teargas canister fired directly at him by the IOF.
An Israeli activist was shot with a rubber coated steel bullet at close range and was transferred to a hospital while a Palestinian child was injured from a tear gas canister hitting his back. The IOF invasion and suppression of the Friday demonstration is still ongoing.

Qaddom

Friday demo of Qaddum in solidarity with the Bedouin in the Negev against deportation and Praver plan.
As soon as we got to the village (earlier than usual as the last few weeks) we were informed that the army thugs were already in the center of the village and scattered clouds of gas clouds like a dog marking territory. Burning eyes and a heavy smell of gas immediately welcomed us when we got out of the cars and also the occupation thugs.
This has been an old tradition and tradition as is known in these parts is jealously guarded. After demonstrating Who's the bully in the neighborhood, the thugs hid and ambushed waiting for the demonstration to begin.
The not new strategy is to confuse the enemy - the Shabab, so they would not know where they will crop up this time. Strategy that refines itself. Indeed it was hard to guess where they will emerge.
A few meters from the grocery the shabab installed a barricade of tires and big stones were scattered in the roads to the village center...
Two hundred fifty Palestinians, seven Israelis and fifteen international activists began the procession. What has happened next, can not be described but as a battle! The armed forces franticly like in amok rushed into the village from every direction and began shooting wildly without restraint. Tear gas and shock grenades and rubber coated steel bullets shooting everywhere, indiscriminately, as if their lives or at least their prestige hung on it. The shabab fought Beck with salvos of stones. After a retreat and respite of a few minutes the state forces came back and went wild again more forcefully.
The Qaddum women do not come to the front of the demonstration, but when the thugs arrive at their doorstep they shed the troopers screams and curses - their properly dew and so well done. (You can see in the video) ... Please, watch the video as Udi's eye is worth more than a thousand words of mine and properly illustrate the Battle of Qaddum."

Sheikh Jarrah

The residents of Sheikh Jarrah are continuing their protest vigils in the neighborhood every Friday, protesting their violent evictions from their homes,
the taking over of the neighborhood by the settlers, and the Judaization of East Jerusalem.
They call upon each and every person who supports their struggle to join them.

Palestine-Israel, The struggle is nearing a turning point and so is the joint struggle*

Though lot of comrades loose their enthusiasm along the years some drop out entirely or emigrate, the struggle continue - both in the struggle for social justice, and the joint struggle against the occupation and the transfer pressures within Israel. The mounting world pressures energized by the local struggles seems to increase qualitatively and so the fears of them by the Israeli elite. Most interesting news in this weekend article and editorial of the daily newspaper Haaretz: "...Contrary to Bennett's statements, sources in Jerusalem say threat of European boycotts on Israel is real" Excerpt: "... large number of those investment committees [of the banking system] considered recommending to the banks to prohibit loans or aid of any kind to Israeli companies that operate in the West Bank − manufacturing there, selling their products, building homes and so forth − and also to Israeli banks that grant mortgages to home builders or buyers across the Green Line. "

Guardian: EU takes tougher stance on Israeli settlements
'Earthquake' directive will prohibit EU states from signing deals with Israel unless settlement exclusion clause is included

Haaretz: Israeli economy at stake as EU takes stand on settlements: The sense that Israel was not truly interested in ending the occupation pushed the EU to turn unwritten rules into official, binding ones.

The transfer of the Palestinians from the 75% areas of Palestine robbed by the Zionist settler colonialist project 1948 was not complete. Part of this was because pressures from the imperial powers that their support was essential to the whole project. All along the years the Israeli state pressured in plethora of ways to remaining Palestinian to emigrate. However about 20% of the Israeli citizens are Palestinians - treated as second rate and subject to pressures to emigrate or at least to shrink the portion of land they posses. Last few years the pressure applied on the Israeli Palestinian Bedouins to relocate from their rural villages to a much smaller urban areas is intensifying.
The joint struggle of the Arkib village already destroyed more than 50 times was reported in the weekly report.

Bellow is a video about the Prawer Plan (which is in the focus of struggle) that intend to forcedly relocate most of the Bedouin villages is now on the verge of forceful implementation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGOY3Fs4I1I

BREAKING NEWS: Many protests are now taking place in the occupied Palestinian cities (the 1948 territories) against the Prawer Plan which intends the ethnic cleansing and displacement of the Palestinian Bedouin Negev / Naqab area. It was previously announced that tomorrow July 15th is a general strike day. Photo was taken a while ago in Haifa.

Bil'in

First Friday demo in the Ramadan. 8 Israelis with anarchists against the wall initiative, 4 internationals and about two dozen Bil'iners marched between the barbed fences "protecting" the separation wall. When we arrived at the gate in the wall we have seen there the new right wing of the gate in the fence of the barbed wire - replacement of the one confiscated the previous week and dragged as a trophy to the village. The Shabab started the stone trowing and slowly the state force replied with gradually increased tear gas grenades. When the tear gas accumulated we returned to the village.

Qaddum

The demonstration today in Qaddum was strange: quieter than what we were used to in recent weeks.
Before prayer army lurked among abandoned houses and then came and tried to arrest two Shabab. These had not give up and managed to escape.
The march began after the usual prayer. This time there was no obstructing road blocks within the village and we walked almost to the fence. The army intruded for short whiles and than returned to its lurking.
Gas was shot sparingly and the demonstration passed relatively quietly.

Palestine-Israel, The actions of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC) are the pick of the joint struggle*

While the popular non armed struggle of the Palestinians of the occupied west bank is provoked again and again in the C areas, the PSCC are still sporadic. The persistent joint struggles are still restricted to Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, and Sheikh Jarah, but from time to time the Israeli anarchists against the wall activists are invited to old locations of joint struggles and to new ones. The state repressions are inconsistent with often unpredicted relative passivity of state forces interwoven with harsh eruptions. Meanwhile in Israel the social struggle is starting to collect momentum with hotter discussions about the international pressure on one side and the one state solution/danger on the other.

Betein

A series of actions was announced yesterday 3-7-13 as part of a campaign called “Shidi Halek Ya Balad” (Stand Up For Yourself My People) for freeing ourselves from the Israeli occupation and in participation of various Palestinian factions including women, men, students, politicians, day-workers and farmers, political factions, civil society organizations, and many more.
Israeli soldiers arrested Mohammed Khatib http://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/9078_654079987954432_145160115_n.jpg yesterday (Thursday) during a nonviolent action organized by the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC). More than 150 Palestinians demonstrated on confiscated land belonging to the village of Betein (East of Ramallah) for the purpose of the construction of Beit El Settlement.

Sunday, joint struggle with (PSCC). Protesting on the roads of Palestine this morning.
At first we protested by a flying checkpoint the soldiers placed on the way from Deir Kadis to Ramallah. The soldiers shot several tear gas canisters directly at us, hitting in the chest a protester, who was evicted to the hospital, his condition unknown.

Then we went to protest by Nilin checkpoint, where the soldiers eventually dispersed us with stun grenades.

Weekly demo 05.07.2013. About 15 with the anarchists against the wall initiative joined few dozens of international activists and Bil'iners. We marched along the wall between the barbed wire fences up to the gate in the wall. There, people removed one wing of the gate of the barbed wire fence, confiscated it, and drag it with a car to the village. The state forces were nearly passive with few tear gas grenade thrown just to keep the pretense of power. After a long while demonstrators got bored and returned to the village.

Um al-Kheir

Two Palestinian women sustained bruises today and three were detained during a peaceful rally against colonial expansion east of Yatta in south Hebron hills. The Israeli terrorist colonists attacked nonviolent protesters kicking them and beating them with rifle butts in Um al-Kheir neighborhood east of Yatta

"I just came back from an arrest in the South Hebron Hills with two Palestinians from Umm al-Kheir and three Israeli Ta'ayush activists. The military decided to arbitrarily arrest a young Palestinian shepherd. It was completely unprovoked, brutal, and under false charges. He was blindfolded and zip-tied with a single zip-tie (against regulations). The military then issued a Closed Military Zone for a different area and arrested the rest of us when we were clearly outside of it. The shepherd's brother was beaten and is now limping on his left leg. In the picture you can see the brave people of Umm al-Kheir coming to protest and resist the military's assault. I was dragged off by four soldiers while sitting next to the woman in black. At the end of the day, we were released and our Palestinian comrades had to submit an outrageous deposit of 1500 NIS (collected entirely by the people of the village). Robbed by law. We all received restraining orders from the area for 15 days. The forbidden area includes a well and a water cistern which is of vital importance for Shepherding. The people of Umm al-Kheir, due to the close vicinity of the settlement Carmel, are considered illegal trespassers on their own land and suffer demolitions, arbitrary arrests, and assaults on a daily basis"

Don't say we did not know #368

The villagers of 'Awarta owned 22,000 dunums of land (one dunum = 1000 sq.m). Israel expropriated some 12,000 dunums, for the benefit of the settlement Itamar (established in 1984).

In early June 2013, 22 farmers from 'Awarta received confiscation orders for some 360 dunums of their land, near Itamar. On 23rd June, 2013 they received more orders, stating that 63.4 dunums were now confiscated.

For years, the farmers have been denied entry to their land near the settlement. They are allowed to enter only two days a year, in order to harvest their olives.

On Thursday, 27th June, 2013, government representatives arrived, again, accompanied by police, at the Bedouin village 'Atir (near Yatir forest) and demolished three homes and four tents that had been built following the last demolitions.

Palestine-Israel, The world in turmoil and will never be the same again*

The root of the joint action the Israeli anarchist against the Wall are involved in is in the same process that started in the first post Marxist anti neoliberalist globalization upraising in Chiapas 1-1-94. The People Global Action and the confrontations with the WTO and later also with the G8 originated in the 1997 Second pro Zapatist encounter in Spain (workshop I participated in). In the European People Global Action 2002 at Leiden we have a workshop on the struggle in Palestine (with significant Israeli presence) which raised the idea of a joint camp (materialized in Mas'ha camp 2003) which initiated the joint struggle against the separation fence and the anarchists against the wall part of it. We do not know for sure which confrontational struggle contribute to any other struggle, and to the world struggle, but we are all connected, inspiring and inspired by each other.

Bil'in

Only 3 Israelis - the smallest in the chain of more than 8 years of Friday demonstrations, joined about 10 internationals and few dozen Bil'iners in a relatively calm demo. Many of us marched along the wall in the "forbidden" dirt road between the double barbed wire fence "protecting" the wall... When we reached the gate in the wall and some manipulated the gate of the barbed wire fence the state forces started to shower us with tear gas which gradually forced us back to the village.

Nabi Saleh

Residents of the Ramallah district village of Nabi Saleh, accompanied by Israeli and international solidarity activists, marched this Friday in solidarity with the Palestinian political prisoners on hunger strike in Israeli jail and in support of the ailing Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa and anti-apartheid leader. Protesters marched with banners, each naming a Palestinian political prisoner. Large forces of Israeli soldiers arrived at the scene and began firing barrage of tear gas canisters at protesters, even though the march was peaceful and not one stone was hurled at the soldiers. They also brought a skunk truck which unloaded its putrid water all over private residential homes. As protesters climbed down a hill overlooking the expropriated spring, soldiers apprehended two Palestinian women and an international solidarity activist. While the latter was later released, the two women were taken to military prison and were awaiting a hearing.

Activists on the ground in Nabi Saleh are reporting that 300+ teargas canisters were fired by the Israeli Occupation Forces within the first 5 minutes of its attack on today's regular Friday demonstration by the village against Israel's military occupation.
Nariman Tamimi and Rana Nazzal H were arrested today in #NabiSaleh

UPDATE ON ARRESTS IN NABI SALEH: The international activist has been released but banned from entering Nabi Saleh for 15 days. According to the Spanish international activist, when he was arrested the IOF put Spanish songs on and ordered him to dance. Nariman and Rania have not been released. They were held overnight in Halamish. They will be forced to appear before the military occupation courts tomorrow, but it is not clear what Nariman and Rania are being accused off or charged with.

Sunday, Military court at Ofer concentration camp ruled the two Palestinian women arrested on Friday at Nabi Saleh be released, but the police appealed this ruling. As a result, both women remain in jail till further hearing. Next day evening they were finally freed.

The prisoner Mousa Alqadoumi
The prisoner Abdallah Alqadoumi
They are in hunger strike in Israel prison and we are supporting them and proud of them
Long live Palestine , Freedom for our prisoners

IOF invading the village of Qadum today, to repress a demonstration against the occupation and the blocking of the road to Nablus, an act caused by the illegal settlement of the Palestinian land near the village and which terribly disrupts the people of Qaddum's lives.

Jerusalem

Few days ago, Israel's public security minister, Yitzhak Aharonovic, ordered the temporary closure of Al Hakawati, an occupied East Jerusalem theater.
By that he banned the 19th edition of the children's puppet festival.
We came to protest !

Tel Aviv

In "Shuster every week" demo in the affluent neighborhood Spring Heights, we marched Saturday night to the treasury minister house. The first time in months of demos there, state force personal harassed two female activists with sexual component. The struggle initiative of the "Not Nice" activists used the media and leaflets for shaming the main culprit. The Israeli media reported a lot of it.

Don’t say we did not know #367

On the edge of the Palestinian village ’Asira el-Qibliyya, south of Nablus, flows a spring that supplies water to the village, as well as to the neighboring ones: Madama and Burin. In the early 1990s, Israel took control of the spring and started to use its water.

On Sunday, 16th June, 2013, Palestinians from ’Asira were working putting in water pipes from their well, near the village, in the direction of the village. Settlers from Yitzhar arrived, accompanied by soldiers, and started throwing stones at the Palestinians. The soldiers threw stun grenades and teargas grenades at the Palestinians and demolished the pipes.

Two days later, settlers burned down the equipment providing electricity to the project.

On Wednesday, 19th June, 2013, government representatives escorted by police arrived and demolished the Bedouin village El’Araqib again. They went on to demolish a home in Umm Batin, near Shoket junction, and a home near the township Lakkiya.
