Palestine-Israel, The focus of the joint struggle move to locations where the direct actions have possible achievements*

The joint struggle started against the separation fence and its specific route which used to robe lands of villages and even to transfer them. The struggles brought some partial victories and promoted the joint struggle of Israeli activists, Palestinian grass root comities and internationals. The local, and more so the international awareness to the struggle against the occupation and the persistent efforts of transfer by Israel succeeded to slow the transfer but had not put end to it... nor to the occupation. The present focus of the joint struggle now is on the efforts to curb the gradual transfer efforts within Israel, area C in the occupied west bank, and the East of Jerusalem, and the international B.D.S. - Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions.

Arkib

Arkib village struggle against demolition (more than 50 times) was the focus of struggle against the Praver plan to demolish most of the Bedouin villages in the south of Israel and transfer their inhabitants in the name of "relocation" to concentration open Ghettos. The joint struggle involve regular joint demonstrations and direct actions against demolitions. The following report is just a glimpses of it: "Amir and I are back and safe after spending couple of hours at Beer-Sheva police station. We were detained and interrogate for a peaceful demonstration against the racist governmental Prawer-Begin plan. Heading out from the police Jomah told me the government post the notorious bill in the Knesset and it will be voted Wednesday or next Monday! Please join us against this terrible plan that will relocate thousands and cause demolition of many of the villages!"

Ma'asra

On Friday the 24th of May around 17 internationals, including a rabbi and members of his congregation from Edinburgh, one Israeli and about 25 Palestinians gathered in al Ma'asra to protest the continuing occupation, the development of settlements and the building Separation Wall which will soon cut off the village and others around it from their lands.

We marched through the village to the entrance of Um Salamuna where we were confronted with about 30 soldiers who blocked our path, from there we marched down to the road where we were again prevented from walking. A cat and mouse chase ensued as we made it make to the entrance of the village where we sat on the very hot road in protest of the soldiers presence in the village. After more chanting and a couple of speeches the popular committee decided to end the protest, thanked the people for coming and we walked back to the village. As we left however the soldiers followed in an act of provocation rather than leaving from the entrance to the village.
The now 6 year protest in al Ma'asara continues.....

Nabi Saleh

Friday 24/05/2013

Activists on the ground in Nabi Saleh report that prior to the Friday demonstration starting, 4 Israeli military jeeps entered the village and IOF soldiers spread themselves across the hills and occupied the gas station waiting for the march to start. Once the demonstrated started, the IOF began firing teargas, rubber bullets, stun grenades and skunk. Skunk is being deliberately fired at residential homes and IOF have also fired rubber coated steel bullets into houses, breaking windows.
The Ramallah-area community of Nabi Saleh, joined by Israeli and international solidarity activists, marched this Friday to protest the continuing closure of one of the main roads leading out of the village, as well as the ongoing occupation and land land theft by the state of Israel and the settlers. The IOF immediate responded with barrages of tear gas, rubber bullets and putrid skunk water. The skunk truck sprayed smelly liquid all over residential homes as an act of collective punishment for the villagers' demand for justice and peaceful life. Several people suffocated from the tear gas, but not serious injuries reported.

Don't Say We Didn't Know 363

In the early 1950s, the State of Israel transferred the Bedouin tribe of Abu Al Ki'an from its lands near Kibbutz Shoval in the northern Negev, to an area near Kibbutz Lahav. Later, in 1955, the tribe was transferred once again, this time to the area of Yatir, south of the West Bank. Oral promises were made to give them much land for their use in the new area in place of lands from which they were uprooted.
In 1964 the State began to plant Yatir forest, promising - again, not on paper - that the tribe members would be able to continue to graze their flocks in the woods. After a while they were banned from entering with their herds.
Now the State wishes to evict them again to nearby Hura town. The fact that Hura has no vacant lots does not prevent the authorities from demolishing the Bedouins' homes. On Thursday, May 16, 2013, government agents came to the village of Atir, escorted by large forces of police, Border Police, and Green Recon Unit. They uprooted 450 fruit and olive trees, and demolished 8 dwellings, 10 service structures and sheep pens. Water tanks, farming equipment and other property were hauled out of the rubble and transported by trucks to the Duda'im waste site, where they were dumped.

Palestine-Israel, 65 years since the Nacba - Israelis still hold fast to the loot and grab for more.

Already 65 years since the Nacbe and I still remember Dir Yasin and other bits of memories since 9 years before it. It took me too many years to put all of them together and overcome the Zionist and its national socialist (Marxist) brain washing. Last 47 years I enjoy the freedom from Erch From's "Escape From Freedom" and try to have the path open for others. The participation in the joint struggle with the popular comities is the best road to freedom for Israelis. Thanks to the Palestinian activists of Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum and other villages who participate from time to time with a special thanks to Mas'ha where was the joint camp that started the joint popular non armed struggle. The resetraining orders regulating the suppression of the nonarmed struggles resulted from the involvement of Israelis are chalenged again.

Nabi Saleh

The protest in Nabi Saleh took to the fields, where soldiers attacked it with tear gas canisters, setting the field ablaze. As people tried to put off the fire, the soldiers, of the most moral army in the world stood there chanting: "May your village burn, may your village burn."
The weekly Friday demonstration commemorated the Palestinian Nakba (lit. 'catastrophe') which is the forced removal of some 800,000 Palestinians from hundreds of villages and towns in Palestine. Villages with international and Israeli activists marched demanding the return of all Palestinian refugees. As the marchers reached the hill at the edge of the village, soldiers appeared and fired tear gas canisters which caused a fire in the adjacent field. While villagers attempted to put the fire out, the soldiers chanted 'may your village burn.' Other demonstrators climbed down the hills and confronted the soldiers near the road. Eight Israeli and international activists were detained but released after a short while. In the meantime, the IOF invaded the village, spraying skunk water on residential homes. Youth attempted to repel the invading army were fired at with tear gas canisters.

Jerusalem

Nakba Day demonstration, East Jerusalem

15 May marked the 65th anniversary to the creation of the Zionist state, which was founded through the etnhic cleansing of Palestine and the expulsion of about 750,000 of its inhabitants, known in Arabic as al-Nakba (the catastrophe). Commemorated each year by Palestinian communities around the world, as well as IDPs in side Palestie, refugees and their descendants call for the return of all Palestinians to their places of origin, in accordance with the UN resolution and declaration of human rights. On 15 May, 2013, hundrerds gathered around Damascus Gate and adjoining streets in Eastern Jerusalem to commemorate the Nakba - both the 1948 expulsion and ongoing house demolitions and expulsions all over the city. Israeli riot police responded violently with tear gas, use of tasers and water cannons, spraying water at protesters, passers-by, shops and even other policemen. Several activists were arrested and taken to the nearby police station, others were lightly injured and treated at the scene.

Thursday

Democracy Or Rebellion initiative call for a vigil adjusent to the orthodox Haredi community demo, in support of their refusal to enlist into the army.
The solidarity is with the orthodox section that never supported the Zionist settler collonialist project and never asked for its money.
As top rabbis declare that attempts to draft ultra-Orthodox men into the army constitute a ‘religious war,’ masses turned out for an anti-draft rally in Jerusalem. Violent confrontations broke out between a few demonstrators and police. Thirteen were injured and 10 arrested.
Parallel to the central demonstration, a small group of thirty post-J14 activists affiliated with the more radical and anti-militarist faction of the social justice movement calling themselves ”Democracy or Rebellion” (including some anarchist activists), demonstrated in support of the ultra-Orthodox

Palestine-Israel, The long long settler colonialist Zionists project collided with the black hole*

The famous scientist Stephen Hawking join academic boycott on Israel and support the B.D.S. The esteblishment lamented that the Wolf Prize in Physics of $100.000 bestowed on him 25 years ago did not buy his support for ever. The panic they developed and efforts they invested to minimize the damage point to the qualitative jump of the B.D.S. to an higher level. It is not the beginning of the end yet, but it is certainly the end of the beginning. The efforts invested in the crawling transfer - both the Bedouins within Israel, the Palestinian villagers in area C, and within occupied east Jerusalem seems to be a desperate moves to bust their dwindling moral. The popular struggle of the third intifada is slowly accumulate momentum in additional villages but it is still a lot of work needed to bring it to a full blooming.

About 50,000 Zionist settlers and sympathizers marched today in occupied Jerusalem marking the anniversary of the occupation of he eastern parts. Zionist youth waving the Israeli flags and other banners supporting the occupation marched trough the Muslim quarter in the old city, chanting in front of Damascus Gate, taunting local Palestinian residents. Several hundred Palestinians, accompanied by Israeli solidarity activists, stanged a counter protest, which started at Damascus Gate but violently pushed back into a nearby Palestinian neighbourhood. Large forces of Israeli police, including horse-mounted riot police, brutally suppressed the counter protest, arrest at least 20 people, including journalists documenting the event. Deir Jreer and Silwad

Residents of Deir Jreer and Silwad resist occupation and settlement expansion
Posted on: May 10, 2013 |

At around 9 am today, 150 Palestinians, accompanied by International activists, went to Deir Jreer lands to construct a new road so that local farmers could reach their lands more easily. Two bulldozers flattened the path from the nearest road to the lands located near an illegal Israeli outpost. Israeli military personnel maintained a presence on a facing hilltop but did not intervene. In addition to constructing a new road ‘ the villagers wanted to protest the confiscation of their privately owned land by Israeli settlements and military.

In the nearby village of Silwad, approximately one hundred Palestinians, joined by a handful of Israeli and international activists, also demonstrated against land confiscation and settler violence. After midday prayers, demonstrators walked along the main road towards the entrance of their village where Israeli forces were located. Clashes soon erupted; Palestinian protesters threw stones and Israeli forces shot excessive amounts of tear gas canisters, some stun grenades and rubber coated steel bullets at people. The confrontations lasted until around 15.30.

In the past few weeks, the villages of Silwad and Deir Jreer have faced an increase in violence from the settlers of Ofra settlement , the nearby outpost and the Israeli military. Settlers established a new outpost on the top of a hill but Palestinians dismantled it after a Silwad villager was severely attacked by settlers. The village of Deir Jarir was also raided by settlers who set fire to ten of the resident’s cars.

Palestine-Israel, The military and para-military transfer terror increase and so does the popular struggle*

The transfer pressure in area C and the 1948 borders Negev intensify. The colonialist settlers increase their terror backed by the Israeli state forces. The increased popular struggle intensify too and the rightists call for harsher repression are lauder. Not all involved with the grass root popular struggles are happy with the joint struggle with Israelis, preferring to do without the relative immunity from harsher repression we provide, and without our contribution for world public opinion. The ferment in the region already decided that thing will not be the same but only popular struggle and international pressure will channel the changes to the better.

Happy to report Silwad, after a period of relative calm, is now awake and fiercely resisting the occupation and the theft of its lands by "settlers" from the nearby colony of Ofra. The resistance was sparked by the savage beating of a 60-year-old Silwad resident, Ahmad al-Zir, as he tended his land by Ofra colonists who fractured his skull with and iron bar leaving him unconscious and necessitating emergency surgery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysZqJ2FxplE

Palestine-Israel, Week after week, season after season, year after year and the joint struggle persist.

The traditional Chinese course: "Have an interesting life" is fulfilled these months in the East of the Mediterranean: The elite in Syria massacre its rebelling people, the Israeli state continue with the cleansing of the Palestinians and have a second neo-liberal front with own people; Turkey just in the north cut the last ropes of the Ottoman empire and Egypt to the south is fermenting more than ever in its long long History. The elites of the European countries of the north who ruled and exploited our region for centuries start to feel and behave in the panic of tiger riders who fear that the ride is nearing its end and the confrontation with the tiger is nearing... And the joint struggle in Arkib, Beit Ummar, Bil'in' Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah, Sheikh Jarah, Silwad, South of Hebron Hills, Susiya, Tel Aviv, continue.

Bil'in

This week there was no gas in Bil'in. Actually there was one canister that the shabab threw at the soldiers, and one canister that the offended soldiers threw back at the shabab, and that's it. There were also stun grenades and skunk water, but not as much as usual. The wind was blowing strong and steady at the force's commander and the settlement, so the soldiers had to let off. On the other hand, there were loads of French women and Frenchmen, a kite, burning tires, flags on the wall, a trumpet, a harmonica, a few dozen eggs, and a well orchestrated stoning display that forced off the wall the two sitting duck soldiers placed there to attract the shabab's rage.

Ma'asara

Nabi Saleh

Friday - 26/04/2013 During the weekly demonstration in Nabi Saleh, protesters - Palestinians, Israeli and international - marched in celebration of the deal reached with the political prisoner Samer al-'Issawi, who will be released to his native Jerusalem after a long hunger strike. Protesters marched towards the village's stolen spring and expropriated lands when they were attacked by the IOF with rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters. Although the soldiers chased the village's youth into the village and although many suffocated on the tear gas, there were no serious injuries or arrests.

Silwad

Friday protest 26.4-2013

Following the recent outrages of a 60-year-old Silwad resident; Ahmad al-Zir, who suffered serious injuries, chiefly to his head, when he was attacked by colonists from the nearby Israeli colony of Ofra with an iron bar two weeks ago; the torching of 10 cars in the neighboring village of Beit Jarir and a vain attempt to encroach further into Silwad land land by siting caravans (which were torched) on the village's property, there have been a series of fierce protests by outraged Deir Jarir and Silwad residents which are being violently suppressed by occupation forces. Today, from what appeared to be an Ofra "security guard" or colonizer there were frequent bursts of indiscriminate live fire blanketing the area at stone throwing youths. Luckily, there were no injuries or fatalities.

Don't say we don't know #359

On Sunday, 14th April, 2013, at 21:30, IDF soldiers entered a Palestinian home near Tel Rumeida, in Hebron, and arrested a 13 year old boy on the claim that he had thrown stones. They shackled him and covered his eyes with a cloth used to clean guns. First, they took him to a road block in Hebron and locked him up there for 20 minutes. Afterwards they took him to an nearby IDF base where they locked him up for further 15 minutes. After that, they took him to the Palestinian police.
