Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle on the background of the third Intifada*

It was not a sudden eruption as the previous Intifadas'' uprisings. It is a gradual increasing of activities interwoven with the increased world wide involvement with the B.D.S. calls to boycott Israel. The Israeli security forces focus the threats and warning of the anarchists against the wall activists about our contribution to the de-legitimizing of Israel. The extreme right Israelis who sense the increasing pressures on the prime minister who tend to yield when pressure is too high, shift their support to the more to the right (and principled) party. The activities for the cleansing transfer of Palestinians from the choicest areas continue even when some steps are curtailed due to resistance and international pressure.

Beit Ommar

Saturday 22-12-12 Breaking news from Beit Ommar: Injuring two people with live bullets
Now in Beit Ommar (my town), Israeli soldiers attacked people after funeral to one of Beit Ommar residents, Fascist soldiers are using metal rubber coated bullets, tear gas grenades, in addition to using live ammunition. Clouds of tear gas are covering the area of clashes now, the soldiers are throwing tear gas in all directions and intentionally targeting residents houses.

‎Bil'in‎

The people of Bil'in continue to struggle against the wall and occupation, and Israelis and internationals continue to struggle in solidarity, even on this winter solstice. Last week the army started shooting just as the protesters reached the wall. They kept shooting large amounts of gas, mostly at low angles and directly at demonstrators. They shot as far back as the ambulance waiting behind, while those at the front were cutting chunks of barbed wire. This week, the heavy rain paused just in time for the demo, which was relatively quiet, as the wind spread the skunk smell thoroughly among the protesters. Notable guests last week: a Japanese medical mission; this week: an aborigine flag. Counter demo: settler kids, standing on the scaffolding of a new building being built on the lands of Bil'in behind the wall, shouting "A Jew is a mentsh, an Arab is a son of a bitch".

A Conversation between a soldier mounted on the wall and a young local protester standing right under him:
Soldier: Go home!
Protester: This is my home!
S: This isn't your home.
P: This is my land.
S: No, it's mine
P: It's my land
S: Get out of here or I'll put a bullet through your head.

South of Hebron Hill

Saturday, 22-12-12 This morning at 10.30 am three Palestinians, Eisa Shamisty, Azmi Shamisty e Mahmoud Shamisty, were arrested while working a land of Palestinian property near the Israeli outpost of Havat Ya'er close to the settlement of Suseya. On the place were about forty Palestinians including men, women and children together with internationals and Israeli activists.
After about ten minutes of work, around twenty settlers arrived and tried to chase the workers away with harassments and physical aggressions. Six army jeeps and the border police, called by the same settlers, reached the place. The army declared the place "closed military area" and kept at distance Palestinians, internationals and Israeli activists. It was not forbidden to settlers to stay inside that area. With the three Palestinians two Israeli activists were arrested as well.
The policy of restrictions, closures and demolitions carried out by the Israeli army, combined with the continuous harassment made by the settlers of the area, denies Palestinians' human rights, hindering them to live in their villages, to cultivate their lands and to graze their flocks and preventing the development of local communities.
Nevertheless, the Palestinian communities in the South Hebron Hills are strongly involved to claim their rights and resist to the Israeli occupation choosing the nonviolent way.
Two Israelis and few Palestinians were arrested in farmer working the land activities. The Israelis were released late evening with no restrictions.

Don't Say We Didn't Know 341
On Thursday, December 13th, at 7 p.m., Israelis soldiers stopped a Palestinian vehicle in the village of Markaz (in the South Hebron Hills, firing zone no. 918). This was a vehicle delivering food to the village. The soldiers confiscated the vehicle and its contents, and forced the owner to follow them to Yateer Checkpoint. After hours of phone calls to the Civil Administration, the owner of the car and his brother were released. The car itself remained in the army's hands at the checkpoint. During the talks, the soldiers claimed they were not holding the car and suggested calling the police. Only at 9:30 a.m. the next morning was the vehicle and its contents released.

On Friday noon, Palestinians went out on a motorized tour (6 mini-tractors and two cars) around Jinba in the South Hebron Hills. Soldiers detained them and summoned the police. The soldiers arrested one of the travelers and the police arrested another. The police requisitioned one of the mini-tractor claiming it is stolen. After two hours the detainees and the mini-tractor were released.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle non armed struggle my be adopted as model for the third Intifada*

The failure so far of the political efforts of the Palestinian authority to bring substantial results may increase the accumulation of frustration to till it may explode. The initial increase of non armed local struggles approach explosion point in spite of the call of the Palestinian authority to limit the struggle to the international political arena. In addition to the locations of the on going struggles other locations initiate such struggles. Beit Nuba, Al Mufakara are just two examples to it. The intensification of harassments up to the use of live ammunition during week day rides in Ni'ilin and Naby Saleh may be part of other Israeli state force escalation of harassments that seems to try to initiate a third Intifada.

Bil'in

About 30 guests and 30 Bil'iners participated in the Friday demonstration against the separation wall and occupation. When the participants marched from the Abu Lamun oaks orchard to the separation wall the Israeli state force started to shower the approaching people with tear gas grenades - not waiting for the first thrown stones by the shabab. Due to the changing wind lot of tear gas moved back beyond the wall to gave the soldiers their own "medicine". A tear gas grenade "returned to the sender" even made them suffocate. The demonstrators dispersed all along the one kilometer wall dodging the tear gas and cheering the east wind that blew the clouds of tear gas towards the soldiers.
After a long while the people returned to the village.

Another take:
"On Friday of solidarity with Palestinian prisoners, young man was injured in addition to dozens were suffocated in Bil'in weekly march. Friday(14-12-2012) Mohamed Adeeb Abo Rahma 18years old was injured in his leg by rubber bullet in addition to Dozens of demonstrators were suffocated after inhaling tear gas in Bil'in weekly march organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bil'in, the march came under the title "Fri solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike", participated in the march along with the people of Bil'in, dozens of Israeli and foreign peace activists. The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village toward the apartheid wall, participants raised Palestinian flags and chanted slogans calling for resisting the occupation, demolishing the apartheid wall , liberating the Palestinian prisoners and they also called on Palestinians to remain faithful of Palestinian constants.Upon the arrival of the participants to Abu Lemon area adjacent to the wall, they were able to break the barbed wire adjacent to the wall and they uprooted some of them, the Israeli occupation soldiers Who were situated behind the wall fired tear gas, sound grenades, and lead rubber-coated metal at the demonstrators, on the other hand they also sprayed wastewater mixed with chemical material toward participants, which led to the injury of the young people and suffering of dozen of suffocation, they were treated in the field by ambulance crews . Meanwhile violent clashes broke out between the angry youths and Israeli soldiers continued for hours, the youths threw stones at Israeli soldiers , when they chased youths within the fields in an attempt to arrest them"

Qadddum

The weekly demo 14/12/12: 150 Palestinians, 13 Israelis and 5 internationals participated in this week's demo at the kufer Kaddum village, the demo was very successful, with not a single shoot by the IOF and not a single stone by the local Shabab all through the demo, the protesters marched from the village center towards the IOF blockage, setting road barriers along the way, when we got close to the settlement of Kddumim their was a barbed-wire waiting for us a cross the road, the Shabab setting tires on fire and calling to the soldiers to put down the weapons and join them in the village for coffee, after a while when all the tires in the village where burned they destroyed the barbed wire and done their famous victory march back singing and dancing.

South of Hebron Hills

Saturday 15.12.2012. "We started with accompanying farmers and shepherds to their lands close to illegal settlements\outposts which they are prevented by IOF and settlers of entering on daily basis, right from the beginning we where attacked by settlers from the illegal settlement "Mitzpe yair" the IOF was there but didn't do much to stop them, a few of them started to run wild towards the closest village while all men of the village are in the field, a few of us followed them and prevented them from attacking a defense less village and a shepherd, after a while the IOF came and one of them threated to arrest the shepherd for trying to protect his herd! after that they said that this place is closed military zone (without showing anything....) and that we should leave... We insisted of staying as long as the wild settlers are around. A few settlers attacked Israeli activists and shepherds close to the illegal settlement of "Avigail" the IOF again did not do much to stop the wild settlers, even when they sent a trained dog to attack the sheep (some of them even laughed!) and looked for away to get us out of the land, then they came with some maps with a yellow line on them, something we never seen before and was not approved by court, at first it was not signed, then they took it back and came back with a signature, after we joined Al-Mufaqara people on an event declaring the building of the new mosque that was demolished by the IOF and putting the first bricks, it seemed half of the army, police and civil administration in south mount Hebron came to see as well on the top of the hill, their was about a vehicle for every person participated in the event, after we went to a tour on tractors to Al-Fahchit village 1 of 8 villages that is targeted to be demolished in fire zone 918".

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue with tense political background*

After the mainly political defeat of Israel in the attack on Gaza and the following defeat in the US, the Israeli state forces repressing the weekly demonstrations got restraining orders. It was expressed in few cases of small units of soldiers escaping from stone throwing youth - the video of the most pictorial one played again and again in the Israeli TV channels. The rightist "talking heads" complained the fleeing soldiers insult Israel and harsher measures must be taken. the more realistic ones point to the international loss of respect to Israel that harmed protesters will aggravate. In addition to the usual Beit Ummar, Bil'in, Al-Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Nilin, Qaddom, South Hebron Hills, and Sheikh Jarrah, there were as addition this week Kufr Al-Dik and Kraiut.

Bil'in

The Friday demo revealed the deterioration of the moral of the Israeli state forces. They do not stop the demonstrators from passing the spools of barbed wire and approaching the wall. They put an Israeli flag for all to see but after half hearted efforts failed they let the Palestinian flag posited a meter from it to stay. A team of state forces confronted the shabab but after they received a returned tear gas canister with added stones they fled to a distant position.
They even did not bother to bring the machine that spray the demonstrators with stinking water.
Though it was a relatively smaller and shorter demonstration it was finished on demonstrators own terms and with a good moral.

Nabi Saleh Weekly demonstration, Dec. 7, 2012

While in Tel Aviv they mark Human Rights Day in Nabi Saleh we mark a year to the murder of Mustafa Tamimi. Disregarding both of the occasions the IOF shoots tear gas canisters directly at the protestors, as well as skunk water and rubber bullets.
During the weekly Friday demonstration in Nabi Saleh, Palestinians and solidarity activists commemorated the first anniversary to the martyrdom of Mustafa Tamimi, killed by a tear gas canister shot by an Israeli soldier as well as Rushdi Tamimi, who was shot and killed three weeks ago. Protesters were carrying banners in Hebrew and Arabic naming the soldier who shot Mustafa Tamimi as well as others in the IOF chain of command. The IOF attempted to suppress the demonstration with massive amounts of tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets, and for several hours residents resisted attempts to invade the village; A few suffered injuries due to rubber bullets and many suffocated from the tear gas.

Palestine-Israel, Another week of joint struggle in turbulent times

After years of persistent struggle the first cracks emit a more pleasant melody. The pains of the fallen, the injured, and these suffering more than others is softened a bit by the defeat of Israel in Gaza and the UN. It seems that the Tsumud, the resistance and the popular unarmed struggle start to change the flow of things in the international arena. We see it again and again that when the scales are in balance, even a small group of activists who persist in struggle can tip the scales. The joint struggle contribute its share in obstructing the efforts of the Israeli establishment to equate the struggle against Israel with antisemitism. The joint struggle even seems to collect momentum and more locations of popular and joint unarmed struggles are increasing.

In Bil'in there were[not] 20 Israelis of the anarchists against the wall and 15 internationalist as they are forbidden to be there... and there were also few dozen Palestinians - double the usual numbers of the last months. Many preferred to march all or part of the way to the Abu Lamun park instead of the usual travel by cars. The wind was very friendly so the demo was much longer than usual... till the clouds of tear gas put end to the demo.
"One day after the United Nations overwhelmingly voted to declare Palestine as an internationally recognized state, the weekly demonstration in Bil’in was attended by a large number of people in high spirits, waving Palestinian flags and playing music from loudspeakers. The army responded with large amounts of tear gas, and a Palestinian man was hit by a canister. The army used sound grenades and steel-cored rubber bullets against the protesters, managing to shoot several young men in their legs."

Friday Nov. 30, 2012. Today protest was organized in coordination with South West Bank Popular Committee to Mark the recognition of the Palestinian State in the United Nations. Tens of heavily armed Israeli occupation soldiers blocked the way and prevented the protesters from approaching the main road and and tried to suppress them, but they were so determined to reach the main road and deliver the protest messages which are "this land is ours and no one can or have the right to force us out", the second message was "solidarity with Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike", the third message was "the necessity of suing the Israeli war criminals in front of the International Crime Court", in addition to condemning the USA, CANADA and the other four countries who opposed the recognition of Palestine Statehood Bid, and described them as enemies of peace, freedom and human rights.

Kufr Qaddom

"This Friday (Nov. 30th) the demonstration was longer than usual.
Five Israelis, a handful of international and two hundred Palestinians marched towards the occupied road. The demonstration marked the recognition of Palestine at the UN and chants were according to that.
Barricades were placed all along the road, tires were burned and the near by Qdumim colonialist settlement was stenched and blackened as deserves.
The army surrounded the village as it must "protect the homeland" from friends
and partners from Qaddum. Israeli state forces shot lot of shock and gas grenades and some rubber coated bullets as well.
At the end of the demonstration troopers tried to enter the village but the wonderful shabab built stone barricades at the entrance to the village.
"I would like to say that we get now a welcome reception as Israelis which was not so initially and what is not obvious. Morad asked to change the day of the demonstration for Tuesday so more Israelis will be able to come. I thought it is not true as some of us working in the week days and suggested the Sabbath instead. I do not know if it
is a one time change or not. I promise to update later. Thanks to all who came. And please come to Qaddum as you will be welcome there."

Palestine-Israel, While the autumn whether is cooling The struggle is intensifying and hotter*

In addition joint demos and actions in Bil'in, Beit Ummar, Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, South Hebron Hills, and Sheikh Jarrah, there were actions of the higher comity of the local grass root communities and other localities - both in the occupied west bank and within Israel with the war in Gaza as focus.---- The long struggle against the settler colonialist Zionist project was reviewed in the conference commemorating the 50 years birth day of the Israeli anti authoritarian anti capitalist Matzpen the anarchists against the wall are its hairs. In it comrades stressed again the difference between the struggles against aspects of the Zionist project like military rule imposed on the Palestinians in the past within Israel and now in the 1967 occupied regions, and partial gains in it, and real solution only the social revolution in the whole region will bring.

Budrus

Sunday will be women demo in protest on the attack on Gaza. As many Israeli female activists as can come are invited to support the demo.
Women's protested at Budrus the on going attacks on Gaza.
About 50 women marched in protest of the Gaza massacre. During the non-violent demonstration of women in Budrus – a village in the West Bank - three youths were taken from their homes and arrested by the IOF. Additionally, the IOF threw tear gas and rubber coated bullet
Even before the demo started the IOF covered the village with tear gas, the brave women of Budrus took another path towards the fence, the IOF waited there in big numbers and full gear and right away opened fire at the women non-violent protest until then not a single stone was thrown, so the shabab joined the protest with stone throwing and road barriers, the state forces entered in to the village and arrested three brothers violently from the first house, the parents followed them and some women but the IOF closed behind them and sprayed the mothers with stinking skunk water, the IOF continued for hour into the dark shooting rubber bullets at tear gas at the shabab and the village from the other side of the fence.

Funeral of Rushdi Tamimi, Nabi Saleh, 20.11.2012
Over a thousand people gathered in the village of Nabi Saleh to pay respect to Rushdi Tamimi, who died from wounds inflicted by IOF soldiers. The funeral procession, which started in Ramallah and passed through Birzeit, arrived to Nabi Saleh where Tamimi was laid to rest. Immediately following the funeral, large forces of Israeli military gathered near the village's main entrance and clashes erupted between soldiers and mourners. The soldiers used massive amounts of tear gas and rubber bullets, in addition to stun grenades and skunk water.

Bil'in

Bil'in gave the soldiers their own medicine: In this Friday demonstration Shabab made "mini Kasams" and returned to the Israeli army tear gas grenades using short pipes as a make shift mortars instead of throwing them back by hand. After a long hesitation, the soldiers came running showering the demonstrators with tear gas... but after confiscation of a TV video material they retreated. The village activists expecting more intensive "night visits" from the Israeli state forces in retaliation.

Don’t Say We Didn’t Know 337

We are constantly sold the old “restraint” lie. Israel has practiced self-restraint for 4 years. For 12 years. We are told that the Palestinians shower missiles on us, but forget the assaults Israel has constantly carried out against Gaza.

So I took the trouble to review UN data (not the Palestinians’), and following is a list of Palestinian casualties in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli assaults, only in the months of September and October, and first week of November 2012.

Please note I have not counted the total number of Israeli attacks on the Strip, or the number of missiles and bombs launched and dropped on it, but only those that managed to kill or wound Palestinians:

5-6.9.12 – The Israeli army shelled a vehicle and group of Palestinians east of the Al Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip and north-east of Beit Hanoun, respectively, killing 6 so-called armed men and wounding another one.

10.9.12 – 6 wounded, one of them armed and 5 civilians, two of them children, of an IDF shelling.

19.9.12 – The Israeli Air Force assaults a police vehicle on a routine patrol around Rafa. 2 policemen killed, one wounded.

24.9.12 – IDF soldiers shot and wounded a woman seen on the roof of her own home, located 1,200 meters from the border fence in Al Bureau refugee camp.

7.10.12 – The Israeli Air Force bombed two members of a Palestinian armed organization as they rode a motorcycle inside the town of Rafa. One was killed, the other wounded.

8 civilians, among them 4 children (one a 4-week-old baby) were wounded as well.

8.10.12 – Israeli forces fired tank shells at various areas near the fence in Johan Al Dik, Al Karara, Hiz’a and Khan Yunes. As a result of this fire, 4 Palestinian civilians were wounded, 2 of them children.

12.10.12 – An Israeli assault from the air hit 2 armed Palestinians riding a motorcycle east of Jabaliya refugee camp, killing both. A 6-year old child was wounded as well.

12.10.12 – Another air assault outside the Al Bureij refugee camp wounded a 12-year old boy.

13.10.12 – Assaults from the air at two sites east of Khan Yunes and Deir al Balah killed 3 armed men and wounded another 3.

22.10.12 – During an Israeli ground incursion into the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Air Force killed one armed Palestinian and wounded another person. Hostilities spread to another area of Beit Hanoun where an armed Palestinian member of an armed organization was killed and 2 others wounded in another attack from the air.

22.10.12 – In two additional attacks on the same day, the Israeli Air Force focused on a group of armed men who, Israel claims, were trying to launch missiles at the south of Israel. 3 were killed, 5 others wounded.

24.10.12 – Israeli forces fired tank shells at a Palestinian police checkpoint near Erez crossing, wounding one policeman.

28.10.12 – The Israeli Air Force attacked Palestinian armed organization members who, according to Israel, were trying to launch a missile against Israel; One of them was killed, another wounded.

4.11.12 – Israeli forces stationed on a watchtower along the fence shot to death a 23-year old mentally-disabled Palestinian who was walking within the zone of limited accessibility about 10 meters from the fence.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle and the attack on Gaza*

The joint struggle picked a new momentum. On Sunday 11-11-12 the general commanding the center of the west bank declared the Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, and Quaddum locations of joint Friday demos as closed military regions for our activists on Fridays. On Wednesday we expressed our defiance by joining the initiative of the general comity of the local grass root comities. The war on Gaza flared Wednesday afternoon and the anarchists against the wall activists joined the demos in the various locations in Israel.

Direct actions Wednesday organized by the higher comity of the grass root comities involved with the joint struggle. About 20 Israelis of the anarchists against the wall, dozens of internationals and Palestinians from the various villages in blocking main roads built for the settler colonialist. In about half a dozen locations blocking for about half an hour was achieved. State force used tear gas in one location. Angry settler tried in vain to confront the blockers. Two were de-arrested. Non was taken.
"All over the West Bank Palestinians took out to a day of protest action, to mark Palestinian independence day. In Ramallah area 7 roads leading to military checkpoints and settlements were blocked by hundreds of Palestinian activists accompanied by internationals and Israelis. In some cases the roads were blocked with chains and locked, and traffic was held for long moments. The army responded with shooting tear gas at the protestors."

Beit Ommar
Saturday demonstration in solidarity for Gaza 17 Nov 2012
Today, a coalition of activists in Beit Ommar including the Center for Freedom and Justice, Palestine Solidarity Project, members of the Popular Committee and a new youth group Youth Power of Palestine (find them on facebook) organized an emergency demonstration in Beit Ommar in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Over 100 people, all Palestinian, marched from the center of town to the Israeli military watch tower at the entrance to the town. They were met by a large Israeli military force which shot tear gas, sound grenades, and rubber-coated steel bullets at the demonstration. For over 2 hours, the group stayed near the entrance to the village, protesting Israeli aggression and occupation. Israeli soldiers took up posts on the roofs of Palestinian homes and continued to shoot tear gas throughout the town.

Bil'in

The Bil'in Friday weekly march organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall in Bil'in 16-11-2012 in the twenty-fourth anniversary of the declaration of Independence. The march came in solidarity with our people in Gaza against the brutal Israeli aggression against them. Participated in the march along with the people of Bil'in many internationals and about 50 Israelis protesting this way the refuting of the new ban on their participation in the joint struggle and the war.
Upon the arrival of the participants to Abu Lemon area adjacent to the wall, they were able to break through the barbed wire and uprooted some of its posts. Some of the demonstrators climbed the concrete wall and waved Palestinian flags on it. They burned dozens of tires which led to a big cloud of smoke carried by the wind along the wall and part of it passed to the  other side - to the soldiers and to the settler colonialist town. The Israeli soldiers who were situated behind the wall fired tear gas, sound bombs, coated rubber bullets, and they also sprayed wastewater mixed with stinking chemicals toward demonstrators. The angry youth threw stones at the Israeli soldiers.
Two citizens were injured in addition to dozens of cases suffocated from tear gas in Bil'in weekly march. Ahmad Adib Abo Rahmh (12 years) was hit by a rubber bullet in his back, and his father Adeeb Abu Rahma (41years) by a tear gas canister in the leg as well as dozens of demonstrators suffering from the inhalation of tear gas. All of them were treated in the field by ambulance crews.

Palestine-Israel, The fact that the joint actions is significant was demonstrated to all the skeptics.

Unexpected visitors came Sunday early morning to visit activists of the anarchists against the wall and others with a "present": It is not everyday I get a wake up call from the police. Without warrant, they entered our home and handed over four bits of paper each with a map showing one of the villages of Bil'in, Kfur Qaddum, Nil'in and An Nabi Salih. They explained that until mid-March 2013 I cannot go on Fridays to any of these villages. They recorded the whole thing and insisted on signing receipt. It took time to understand it was not a legal personal restriction order, but a bogus act of intimidation which have no legal meaning. As it was the initiative of the regional commander of the center of the occupied was bank I joked that may be he want us to shift the focus of our weekend joint actions to the southern region of Southern Hebron Hills, Ma'asara, and beit Ommar

"Activists of Anarchists Against the Wall and supporters were awaken early morning to find police in uniform and civilian clothing at their doorsteps. Holding cameras, the police presented the activists (or their parents, roommates, or people currently renting the apartment - targeting 16 people) with general restraining orders (declaring closed military zones) from the villages of Bil'in, Ni'lin, Nabi Saleh, and Qadum, on Fridays day time, effective until March 2013. They demanded that the recipients sign they were delivered the papers. Several houses were also entered with out warrants or permissions. The restraining order were issued to the police by the army.

Anarchists Against the Wall refuses to capitulate in the face of Israel's military regime's harassment of civilians, whether they be recognized by the regime as Jewish, or Palestinian. Most importantly, we'd like to keep the focus on the demonstrations, protesting the theft of Palestinian land, night raids, arrests and torture of villagers, especially that of children. The demonstrations in the occupied West Bank continue, and Israeli activists will continue participating in the struggle for the liberation of the Palestinians from Israeli occupation."

Bil'in

This Friday in Bil'in we had a nice demo. 6 Israelis, about 20 internationals and two dozens of Bil'iners converged near the separation fence. The army which de-escalating its viscousness let us march between the barbed wire spools that "protect" the wall. We marched all the way to the gate in the wall without any tear gas or spray of skunk water (the machine was not brought at all). Mean while daring shabab succeeded to climbed the wall before the soldiers drove them down. A late barrage of tear gas drove us away and we returned to the village.
Two international activists, one Italian and one of US were injure by tear gas canister in the leg.

Palestine-Israel, Slowly but surely continue the development - the joint struggle is not stagnant*

We just received announcement from Beit Ommar on the last developments in their town and region. The group of the activists in Beit Ommar was enlarged, and a regional comity of South Hill of Hebron activists was formally established. Last Weekend, after the Holiday, all the regular struggles were resumed, and many details are included in this report. Beit Ommar, Bil'in, Ma'sara, Nabi Saleh, Nilin, Qaddom, South of Hebron Hills and Sheikh Jarah too.... After eight years of continuous activity against the separation fences and walls & occupation in the west bank, and sporadic activities within Israel (including within the spectrum of social justice). After sporadic discussions about our activities and organization, the anarchists against the wall meeting of activists decided last month on weekly meetings to promote the cohesion of the group and our activities within Israel.

Beit Ommar

The Beit Ommar Popular Committee has decided to develop the name of
the committee from "Beit Ommar Popular Committee against Settlement and Apartheid wall" to
"Beit Ommar Popular Movement against Settlement and Apartheid Wall". Few more people have
joined the committee body, so the committee members has become 15 instead of 7. Mr. Mousa
Abu Maria has decided to resign from the committee, therefore, we have respected his wish, and we deeply thank him for his contributions and efforts over the past few years, and we confirm that Mr. Mousa doesn't represent or speak on behalf of the committee anymore.
We have together with Al Ma'sara committee and Hebron South Hills elected a committee that represent south of West Bank popular committees.

Saturday 3-11-12 demo:

Our next PROTEST will be on Friday 9/11/2012, this protest is organized by SOUTH WEST BANK
POPULAR COMMITTEES.

Bil'in

The usual numbers of Israelis and internationals joined the last three Palestinian demos against the wall and occupation in Bil'in. Two weeks ago the protesters focused on "engineering work": removing barbed wire, placing ramps to gain access to the wall, and climbing the wall with a ladder to place a flag. The following week the demo was smaller due to the holiday (and without the participation of internationals), and the skunk kept the protesters from repeating the previous week's achievement. This Friday the shabab were ahead of the other demonstrators, throwing paint bottles and stones at the two soldiers designated to play sitting ducks on the wall under their shields, while the army cameras take pictures of "helpless" soldiers being stoned. All demos were eventually attacked with gas and skunk stinking water. This week an intensive shooting of rubber bullets was required to get the shabab to stop trying to scare the soldiers away from the village lands with stones.

Al-Ma'sara, 2nd November 2012

"As each Friday, a demonstration to protest against the building of the Wall and the expansion of the settlements in the South Bethlehem area. The demonstrators managed to pass through the first block of soldiers at the entrance of the village and to block a part of the junction road 3157. The purpose: to reach some lands of the village expropriated to build a new part of the Separation Wall. Despite the peaceful and non-violent mode of the demonstration, police and Israeli soldiers don't allow the demonstrators to reach the lands and strongly pushed them back with their shields. Despite the army and its violent methods, we'll continue, Friday by Friday, to scream for our freedom."

Nabi Saleh

On the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, November 2nd, protesters in Nabi Saleh weekly demo asserted their continuous struggle for Palestinian rights despite occupation repression. Today’s demo, titled “we shall win, Balfour” started after the noon Friday, the demonstrators chanted slogans condemning that immoral promise which was given by British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to the Zionists, 95 years ago.
Israeli forces attacked the march before reaching the entrance of the village, firing loads of tear gas grenades and rubber-coated steel bullets and stun grenades. Israeli soldier also shots live ammunition directly at protesters during clashes. Dozens of injuries or suffocation cases were documented. And thus a clash erupted between the Israeli military and the village youth. The soldiers arrested Wae’d Tamimi, 16 years (son of Bassem and Nariman), and another two Israeli photographers and two French activists. Some village’s children surrounded the soldiers demanding the release of Wa’ed [see videos below], they were forcibly dispersed and Wa’ed was taken by army vehicle to the police station in Sha’ar Benyamin settlement. Worth noting, that Wa’ed’s father, Bassem Tamimi, the prominent popular struggle leader in the village was arrested last week during the joint struggle comity demonstration at Sha’ar benyamin settlement. He is currently as Ofer prison, facing military trial for the second time in the last 3 years.

Palestine-Israel, the joint struggle persist

The joint struggle in Bil'in have never stopped for the last seven years and eight months. It inspired the persistent struggles in Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, and Sheikh Jarrah. Activists of the persistent locals inspired and helped the struggles in additional communities. It was "upgraded" when the higher level comity of the struggling local communities was organized. In addition to support of the local struggles it was also expressed in joint actions like this of the previous week at the 443 high way to Jerusalem which pass through the occupied west bank of Palestine and this week at the Beniamin compound against the settler colonialist Rami levi supermarket. This week end the activities were minimal because of the Eid Al Adha holiday, but not canceled.

Beniamin compound

Tuesday 10/24/2012, Demo at settler colonialist Beniamin compound mall (Rami levi supermarket), 6 Israelis of the AAtW, dozens of internationals of the ISM and Palestinian activists of the popular comities calling for boycott of Israeli goods. Four arrested.
Around 150 protestors demonstrated on Wednesday in front of an Israeli chain store east of Ramallah, a Ma'an correspondent said.
Palestinian, international and Israeli protesters gathered outside of a branch of the Rami Levi store, chanting slogans and carrying banners calling for a boycott of Israeli products.
Protesters also condemned settler attacks on Palestinian communities.
The protest took place near the village of Mikhmas, east of Ramallah. There are several Rami Levi stores in the occupied West Bank, which attract both Israeli and Palestinian customers. — Protest against settlement goods, Binyamin settlement, Oct. 24 (15 photos)

Bilin

Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. On the first day of the Eid Al Adha Bil'in continues to demonstrate against the wall and settlements. About 15 Israelis of the anarchists against the wall joined about 20 Bil'iners in the weekly demonstration. As usual, after initial convergence at the near by Abu Lamun groove we marched to the separation wall with the usual chants. Not long after the more daring participants entered between the barbed wire spools and the wall the Israeli state forces started to attack us with tear gas and sound grenades and added the spray of stinking water.
As the wind was most of the time friendly, the state forces succeeded only to prevent the hanging of the Palestinian flag on the wall.
The Shabab who improved their stone throwing capabilities scored lot of direct hits on the plastic shields of the soldiers located on a ramp beyond the wall, who were monitoring us and directing the the spray machine and tear gas shooters harassing us.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle included this week both the highway to Jerusalem and the solidarity sailing to Gaza*

The struggles the anarchists against the wall were never restricted to joint local struggles against the separation fence (Masha, Zabuba, Budrus, Bidu, Bil'in, etc. Nor to other local struggles against the occupations (Beit Omar, Nabi Saleh, Quadum, 443 high way, etc. Nor even restricted to the joint actions together with Palestinian partners. We joined along the years direct actions: of social struggles, of refugees and guest workers, and even activities for the Gheto Gaza people (the last one was solidarity vigils and jail/court solidarity with the crew of Saturday captured ship which tried to overcome the siege of Gaza. To overcome the effects of widely dispersed activities on activists community feelings a weekly meetings were initiated.

Bil'in

About dozen Israelis, two dozen internationals and 20 bil'iners participated in the weekly Demo on Friday 19.10.2012. As usual, not long after entering the route of the wall and hanging a Palestinian flag on the separation wall the Israeli state forces started to tear gas us and later added the spray of stinking water. As usual the Shabab responded with effective stone throwing hitting time and again the shields of the soldiers located behind the wall with just their heads in sight. As the wind was most of the time favoring us, we succeeded to evade the tear gas and after an hour we ended the demo and returned to the village.

Gaza

Saturday, comrades held a vigil at Ashdod beach near the harbor in solidarity with the ship Estelle after it was boarded by Israeli navy who prevented it from reaching Gaza.
"The Israeli navy surrounded the Estelle in the early morning hours and took control of it at 10am. The army spokesperson now announced that the ship will not enter the Ashdod port earlier than 9pm. They are trying to wear down the activists on board before their interrogations, and scare off media. They are trying to get supporters to give up and go home. Let's show them we are not giving up. Come stand with us and with the families of the activists outside the Ashdod police station so that Reut, Elik and Yonatan will see they are not alone and in order to add out voice to the cry to break the siege on Gaza and offer our support for and solidarity with the Palestinian p"

The Israelis were brought to court Sunday with serious charges with prosecutors asking for 5 jail days... but judge declined, call them peace activists and indited them for three days only - this was revoked Monday in district court that replaced it with one day house arrest and 500 meters restriction from Gaza border...

Al-Ma'asara

19-10-2012  6 years of struggle.
Today, in the demonstration marking six years of struggle in al Ma'asara we walked - about fifty Palestinians, twenty Israeli and twenty internationals on the road to the depths of the village lands.
Meager and tired military forces indeed prevented us from getting to the land, but we went far anyway and walked on the road. Because the army was trying to block us they also ended up blocking the highway 3157 for more than an hour. The Israeli state forces were very mild did not arrest any one nor even used the usual violence.
In short after being happy and celebrating the anniversary with cake etc. Our hosts invited us to celebrate the village with some tea.
Some of us (including the Yasamba troupe) decided to go to the demonstration in Sheikh Jarrah, which was a joy, more than expected, and from the demonstration area in the park we marched into the neighborhood with tambourines and dancing.

The weekly Friday demonstration in the village of Nabi Saleh hosted visitors from the Dorothy Cotton institute including veterans of the American civil rights movement. Palestine-Israel, The struggle against occupation is still in the focus of the public arena*

The social struggle with in Israel fragmented. Some of the leading activists used the focusing of media on them for jumping on the election wagon. Only minority choose the non parliamentary road. Very few of the activist were educated by their struggle to adopt anti capitalist anti authoritarian road for social struggle. In the occupied territories lot of stress as the settler colonialists get more cooperation by state forces in are C but the threat of the collapse/disintegration of the Palestinian authority force Israel to make concessions no previous struggle and pressure brought about. The joint struggle of the anarchists against the wall has a diminishing momentum but we still go on. An action that blocked to day one of the main highways to Jerusalem for more than half an hour remind people on under current potentials.

Friday in Bil'in

5 activists with the Anarchist against the wall joined a dozen of Bil'iners (the rest were picking olives) and two dozens internationals in the demo against the separation wall and occupation in the hopefully last hot and humid remnant of the summer. After a prolonged verbal confrontation the Israeli state forces started to attack us with the skunk stinking water and than added tear gas. The small group of Shabab responded with stones.
After about an hour the main demo ended.
The soldiers who got wise after they were driven away few months ago after their last brutal harassing of the Friday demonstrators (when they were driven away by the Shabab who used tear gas and stones) cross the separation fence at nights and come to harass the Bil'iners.
Bilin, Palestine 13.10.2012 the night after the demo: "Israeli soldiers raids Bil'in Village tonight at 2 morning without arrest anyone ... But, they gave papers to one guy ordering him to go to meet Sunday an Israeli shabak [secret services office] interrogator."

DON'T CHOKE! The 19th of October a big demonstration will celebrate the 6th year of Popular Struggle resistance in Al-Ma'sara
Al-Ma'sara, October 2012 – Friday 19th of October, Al-Ma’sara Popular Committee will celebrate its 6th year of resistance with a big demonstration.
Since October 2006, Al-Ma’sara Popular Committee - together with the other Popular Committees in the West Bank - has been organizing weekly demonstrations against the Apartheid Wall and the illegal settlements. Al-Ma'asara Popular Struggle Committee includes also other 7 villages of the area – Wadi Rahhal, Khalled al Haddad, Wadi an Nis, Jurat ash Sham'a, Marah Ma'alla, Umm Salamuna - concerning about 9000 inhabitants.
Al-Ma’sara and the 8 surrounding villages are threatened by the expansion of Gush Etzion settlement block and the preparation of the infrastructure for the illegal apartheid wall started in 2006.
The segregation wall will be a 14km electrical fence with armed support and military guard and will annex an additional 35.000 mq. Further, the new wall will effectively isolate Al-Ma’sara and the other villages from the rest of the Palestinian communities and cuts off their main water supply, negatively impacting health and income of the villages.
The demonstration will take place in Al-Ma'asara at 12h00. The focal point will be the AlShmoh Cultural Center.

South Hebron Hills

Settlers and soldiers continue to harass the Palestinians residents of South Hebron Hills.

Last Saturday, the army prevented herding in Umm el-Amad and in Rihiya near the settlement of Otniel by issuing closed military zone orders. The army also declared a closed military zone near Mufaqara. Border Police arrested two activists who already left the closed zone. After making the arrests, the police left, with no one remaining to enforce the closed military zone or to disrupt the herding. This raised the suspicion the the order was issued solely to the end of justifying the arrest. In Tarqumyia, the army fired tear gas on olive pickers (click here for a video from the olive harvest)

This coming Saturday, October 13, we need as many activists as possible to accompany them and stand up for their rights. There is a direct link between the number of activists who come to accompany the farmers and their ability to harvest and work their lands.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle still count*

The separation fence is no more at the center of attention - both in the efforts of the Israeli state which use more brutal means for the transfer of the Palestinians from rural areas, and in the Palestinian public which focus around the survival of the Palestinian authority in the west bank. The danger of the collapse of the PA forced israel to allow more Palestinian workers to enter Israel - half of them with official permits. It also provided some monitarry help too. However the efforts to clear rural areas with the help of colonialist settlers para militarists and terrorist increased the joint struggles against it - mainly in the South Hebron Mountains. The joint struggle in Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh against the state helped encrouchments by colonial settlers and Qadum are still worrying the occupation managers who gradually escalated the efforts to crash them.

Nabi Saleh

As every Friday, Palestinians from Nabi Saleh together with International and Israeli supporters protested against the occupation and spoliation of their lands and spring by the nearby settlement. Also as every week, they faced attacks by the Israeli army who uses this week: tear gas (many shot at head levels and at houses); rubber-coated metal bullets; skunk (foul-smelling chemical liquid); and live ammunition. The village was totally closed down from morning to late afternoon. A miracle with all that was shot today that nobody got seriously injured or killed.
Activist in Nabi Saleh are reporting that in addition to firing tear gas (between houses in the village) and rubber coated steel bullets, the IOF has just also started firing a large barrage of live ammunition.
During the weekly Friday demonstration in Nabi Saleh, dozens of Palestinians, international and Israeli activists marched together to protest the occupation and continuing land garb by settlers. The Israeli army deployed in large forces on the road leading to the main entrance to the village and on the mountain top, using skunk water, tear gas, rubber coated steel bullets and several rounds of live ammunition to disperse protesters.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle of the anarchists against the wall* and the popular comities loose momentum.

The ferment and anger increase in the general population of the occupied west bank and Gaza. The already two weeks daily evening stone throwing of the Shabab of Qalandia at the Israeli check post. The economic ferment of unemployed in the west bank forced Israel to admit economic support in fear of the collapse of the Palestinian authority. The more than 50 thousands of Palestinians working daily in Israel are part of this economic compromises. However, the Israeli efforts to transfer out farmers from the agrarian areas of C category intensify with the unofficially help of the settlers. The involvement of the Israeli activists in Nabi Saleh, Beit Ummar and South of Hebron Hills area are the most damaging to this project and the pogrom at Anata-Anatot where state forces personnel who live there participated with immunity was a clear message to the Israeli activists.

Bilin

Last 3 Fridays in Bil'in
10-"15 Israelis and a similar number of internationals joined the village activists and the Shabab each of the last three weekly demonstrations in Bil'in against the separation wall used for robbing village lands, and the occupation. The demos included the burning of the Oslo accords coffin and solidarity with the Italian No TAV campaign. One demonstration enjoyed the presence of British parliament members and another was joined by a Serbian TV crew. The demonstrations started peacefully, but escalated quickly due to the soldiers' shooting/ pointing guns/ preparing the "skunk" smelly water canon. In two of the three demonstrations, a few demonstrators managed to stage a very brief sit-in on the path between the barbed wire and the wall. In all three demonstrations, after most participants backed off due to the army's violence, the shabab continued to use stones as means for soldier-control, albeit with limited success. Last week soldiers crossed the wall to chase demonstrators and kept shooting gas far beyond the fence, choking many demonstrators. This week gas was shot - surprisingly - in the direction of the kids throwing stones, rather than the peaceful participants standing behind. The shabab then moved to the southern stretch of the wall and continued fighting back with the wind at their backs instead of their faces. During the three demos a few people (including a first aid person) suffered direct hits from gas canisters, and many suffered from the gas.

A weekly protest against the expansion of the nearby Jewish settlement of Halamish. South Hebron Hills

Settlers and soldiers continue to harass the Palestinians residents of the area.
This Tuesday, settlers and soldiers expelled Palestinian shepherds from their lands near the outpost of Avigail.
Also that, an army officer cashed away a herd near Mufaqra. Later that day it was revealed that Last Saturday, settlers from Mitzpe Yair expelled shepherds from the area of Umm el-Aryais and throw stones at them. Army forces presented an unsigned closed military zone order for the area. Despite the settlers' violence, the police chose to arrest a Palestinian shepherd and an Israeli activist.
Later that day, settlers from Havat Maon throw stones on the participants of a protest march against firing zone 918 and the plan to evict eight villages in South Hebron Hills. For a video from the assault click here.

After short peaches and chants we marched to the near by main street (Iben Gvirol boulevards). As the police were extremely tolerant - only redirecting the traffic and protecting the demonstrators from passing cars, we marched for a while in the street, blocked intersections and one direction traffic, did educational activity for drivers and costumers of pubs sitting on the pavements.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue facing increased efforts to transfer Palestinians from area C mainly*

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle continue facing increased efforts to transfer Palestinians from area C mainly.

When the world media is focused on the war mongering of israel directed to Iran, the naZionist settler colonialists efforts directed towards the Palestinian farmers in area C intensify. More suppression efforts are directed to Nabi Saleh and Qaddum who are in the front of the resistance. Other confrontations are a plenty in the South of Hebron Hills where the colonialist settlers are the main attackers and the state forces "only" help them. Lot of house demolitions are a daily phenomena. Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Ma'asara who started the persistent non armed popular struggle against the separation fence and occupation floated to the margin of both suppression and media reporting. The sporadic vigils within Israel and more so in Tel Aviv seems to be on the margin of attention only.

Bil'in

Though no dramatic conflicts there any more, and the site of the wall not viewed from the village, the joint struggle continue. This Friday seen the usual demo at the the Abu Lamun park and the near by separation wall. We were about dozen Israelis with the anarchists against the wall, nearly two dozen internationals and similar number of Bil'iners. After initial verbal confrontation mainly, the conflict intensified to tear gas canisters, skunk water spray and even marginal invasion of state force through the far away gate. In spite of the state forces intention to disperse us quickly, the strong northern wind dispersed the tear gas and nearly neutralized it till a real efforts was initiated and put end to the demo.

Nabi-Saleh

"Around 100 protested against the occupation of the village spring and its agriculture land by the IOF and settlement of Halamish. Four arrested while marching towards the stolen land".
"Israeli soldiers just arrested 4 protesters in NabiSaleh. Local cameraman Bilal Tamimi, an Israeli activist and two internationals"

Kuffr Qaddum

Israeli Military attempts to crush weekly Kufr Qaddum demonstration, 6 arrested.
Four human rights defenders (3 British citizens and an American), as well as two Palestinians, were arrested at the weekly Kufr Qaddoum demonstration. They are currently detained in the illegal Kedumim settlement police station for interrogation. The two Palestinians, Majed Faruq, 20, and Abd al-Latif Faruq, 24 were arrested from inside their homes as the army stormed the village.

The villagers of Kufr Qaddoum demonstrate weekly against the closure of the road from their village to Nablus since 2002. The Palestinians are not allowed to travel the most direct route to Nablus, 13 km away, due to the positioning of nearby illegal Israeli settlement Kedumim. The commute to Nablus from Kufr Qaddoum is now doubled.

Although the weekly Kufr Qaddoum demonstrations have been going on for over a year, the Israeli military has recently upped efforts to stop the demonstration from occurring. In the past two weeks, the soldiers have entered the village before the midday prayer and the beginning of the march towards the closed road, surrounding the mosque and firing tear gas into the crowd. Three people, including an Israeli press activist [with the AAtW], were injured as tear gas canisters were shot directly at them, hitting them in the arms. In addition to tear gas and sound bombs, after the arrests the Israeli military entered into the village with a skunk water truck. The checkpoints around the village were closed by the Israeli military until 5 p.m.

The Israeli military has been continuing their arrests of villagers: soldiers came early yesterday morning, Thursday 20 September at 2:30 a.m. to arrest four young Palestinian men: Taka Mohammad, 17, Mohammad Amir, 16, Yosouf Shtaiwi, 20, and Nadir Amer, 23. Anas Waleed Barham, 22, was arrested early Wednesday morning at a checkpoint. Another resident of Kufr Qaddum, Ahmad Shtaiwi, 22, remains in prison since his arrest March 16th.

The nonviolent human rights defenders have been charged with throwing stones and being in a closed military zone. There are reports that the detainees were beaten during the arrest, although this remains unconfirmed.

The four international activists were sentenced to seven days house arrest in Tel Aviv and are taken care of by the AAtW activists.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle is still on after a year of big hopes and bigger disappointment

There were high hopes at the beginning of the year both about the joint struggle against the occupation, about the social struggle, and about the treatment of guest workers families and the refugees. In all three of them there is a clear setback. Only one village (Qadumm) was added to the persistent weekly demonstrations, and settler colonialists harassments intensify the efforts to transfer villagers fro area C. Most of the activists of last year social struggle were lured to the parliamentary quagmire. Many of the guest worker families with children an lot of refugees were deported. More and more refugees are arrested and taken to the huge concentration camp most of the refugees are supposed to be incarcerated in... In spite of disappointment and the Autumn blues the struggle continue.

Beit Ommar

‎A weekly demonstration took place on Saturday 15th September at the entrance to the Gush Ezion compound, north of Beit Ommar. Palestinian, Israeli and international activists, joined by a large media contingent, assembled on the roundabout on the Hebron-Jerusalem road which marks the turning to the bloc of nine Israeli settlements. A number of occupation soldiers and police were present at the demonstration, which was the first Organized by Beit Ommar Popular Committee in this location. The demonstrators carried banners addressing three main grievances. Firstly, a message was directed at the anti-Islamic film which has sparked protests across the Arab world, refusing to resort to extremism, in spite of the deliberately provocative nature of the film. They added that the film reflects only on the ignorance and prejudice of its makers, not on Muslims. The second message was one of remembrance of the victims of the massacres at Shatila and Sabra, the thirtieth anniversary of which is 16-18th September. The massacre resulted in the deaths of many hundreds of Palestinian refugees at the hands of a Lebanese militia, with both the independent MacBride commission and the Israeli Kahan commission reporting that the Israelis, who controlled the camps, bore responsibility for the atrocities. The protesters also denounced the continued violence and intimidation which Israeli colonists inflict upon Palestinians, such as the Molotov cocktail attack on a Palestinian family which took place last month, for which Gush Ezion settlers were responsible. The Palestinians reiterated that this kind of terrorism would not prevent them from accessing the land which is legally theirs.

Bil'in

Dozen Israelis with the anarchists against the wall Joined about 10 internationals and two dozens of Bil'iners for the Friday weekly protest against the wall and occupation.
Four of us carried a coffin simbolizing the burial of the Oslo accord.
The state forces responded as usual with spray of the "odor of Israel" skunk water, and tear gas. Due to the strong northern wind and being too careful... I missed the weekly tear gas fix. An Israeli activist (mathematician) who mis calculated the trajectory of an approching tear gas canister was injured in addition to it few other comrades got too much of the weekly tear gas fix.

Al-Ma'sara weekly demonstration, Sep. 14, 2012

About 10 Internationals, 5 Israelis and about 30 Palestinians many of whom are children marched through the village to the main road. As we came closer to the main road members of al Ma'asara popular committee and others chained themselves with a long chain, held signs denouncing the Oslo Accords and called for the release of all political prisoners. The army were restrained as we walked to the olive and fruit tree grove. After a while two young children climbed on top of one of the army jeeps and the army decided to take one prominent member of the committee to be detained. A quick, quiet and calm de-arrest ensued by a few Israelis and an Italian activist. The Palestinian activist managed to escape.

At this point the army decided to enter the village on foot but then thought better of it as we started to form a line opposite them. We then sat on the road opposite the soldiers chanting and a few speeches were given. The organizers then called an end to the successful protest vowing to return next week like they have every week for over 5 years. As we walked back to the village some activists raised the bar and some stones were thrown in the direction of the army.

The restrain on behalf of the army comes after years of brutal and violent crackdowns on the protesters which nevertheless has never stopped them from asserting their rights to land, water, freedom and justice.

Kufr Qaddom

"Five of us traveled to the weekly demonstration in Qaddom. We stopped in the village Izbat Tabib for discussion the demolition / expropriation / expulsion that Israel intends to "reward" them to the 300 residents as homage for the new Jewish year (Rosh Hashana}. Following two hours of discussions we continued a bit late, to Qaddom.
From a distance we noticed that the main entrance is blocked by a cluster of armed forces, we did not understand why, but to be on the safe side we found an alternative route because we did not want to undermine the tranquility of the state forces. We climbed on foot up to village skipping the stones blocks spread generously along the alleys of the village.
On rooftops and high windows we identified intensive activity, we could only speculate that following a surprise visit by representatives of the state forces opening an hunting season in the alleys. We continued slowly and finally we arrived in a higher stretch of the village and later to the confrontation front. But there we had not identified strategic activities other than burning tires and standard local ineffective stones artillery. Up the hill north we observed very large amount of armed forces, sitting or standing comfortably.
Just as we began to feel bored - apparently following a cue from the Shabab to the troopers the quiet was suddenly broken with a heated race to the west, when the troopers follow us and on our sides. When the fight mist faded we discovered that two our own and three of the shabab are listed as missing. Later it turned out that our friends were kidnapped and were rushed to the police station at the illegal colonialist settlement of "Ariel". Accused of being in a closed area occupation, and finally transported overnight in Hadarim prison. Three Palestinians were arrested (by the way, were kidnapped right out of their home if not participated in the demonstration) released around 18:00.

Participants (estimated): 7 international, 150 Qaddumers, and five Israelis. Two Israeli activists who were arrested in kadum Friday. Were brought to court Saturday night and released on bail.
