It was a second Friday with Israeli activist of the anarchists against the wall initiative seriously wounded. Last week demo it was a metal bullet rubbed by rubber that hit the nap of the neck of one of our group in Naby Saleh. The previous Friday it was a tear gas canister that broke the leg of another comrade. It seems the state force stop to discriminate between us and the Palestinians in the demonstrations. They need may be another scandal in the Israeli media following a serious assault on an Israeli activist documented by us. Though it is not easy, the new persistent villages struggles are slowly absorbed by our initiative. Bil'in and Ni'ilin who were in the front of the struggle and repression are receding to the background, Naby Saleh draw most of the pressure, and we still have to see how it will be in Qaddum and A-Dic.

The Beit Ommar popular committee organized today's weekly peaceful protest adjacent to (Carmi Zsur) settlers colony built on the stolen land from Beit Ommar farmers. When we arrived next to the so called security fence surrounding the colony, more than 60 heavily armed Israeli occupation soldiers Intercepted our way and tried with force to force us back, but we resisted their violence and carried on our protest program. This protest was in solidarity with Hana Shalabi who is on hunger strike for the last 31 days in the Israeli occupation jails, and in memory of the ninth anniversary of the martyrdom of RACHEL CORRIE who was bulldozed 9 years ago by an Israeli occupation military bulldozer while she was trying to stop the bulldozer from bulldozing a Palestinian house in Rafah in Gaza Strip. Friday 16-3-12. About 50 activists: 10 Israelis, 10 internationals and about 30 Palestinians - most drove at this rainy noon from the center of the village towards the Abu Lamun park which border the separation wall. Few, insisted on doing the not too short pilgrimage by foot.
Upon the arrival to Abu Lemon area participants raised Palestinian flags and posters of prisoner Hana Shalabi; we chanted slogans calling for national unity, the departure of the occupation, destruction of the apartheid wall, and for freedom for Palestinian prisoners... We called the usual slogans too. Few protesters dared the soldiers by entering between the barbed wire fences "protecting" the wall. Some were able to remove additional part of the barbed wire fence. Some young demonstrators threw rotten eggs at the soldiers. Then the soldiers who were situated behind the concrete wall shot a sound bomb, rubber bullets, and tear gas canisters toward the participants. There was also a truck spraying skunk water at the demonstrators.
On the other side of the concrete wall, under the army's protection, some settlers shouted obscenities against the participants in the march... and got response in kind.
Due to the strong northern wind and the lack of militancy of the state forces, I missed for the second time in a row the smell of the tear gas.

An overwhelming majority of the protesters were Israeli; six Palestinians were present.
It was a far cry from the protests that put Sheikh Jarrah and the Israeli Solidarity movement on the map. Those spirited weekly gatherings attracted hundreds who chanted, held signs, and made music in the name of ending the Israeli occupation and settlement expansion.
Friday’s demonstration had no signs, no chants, and no music. A few people waved Palestinian flags. Most milled about and chatted.
A jeep full of border police blew past, uninterested by the small group.
Speaking about the nature of the joint struggle, an elderly Palestinian man whose neighbors lost their home to Israeli settlers remarked that it didn’t matter to him whether protesters were Jewish or Arab. “Anyone who supports [the struggle] against the occupation, he can protest.”
He added that his neighbors’ home is like his home and that joining the demonstration is about the collective, not “something individual.”
Amira Salamon Abdl Aziz expressed a similar sentiment. She lives in A-Ram, a Palestinian village located between Ramallah and Jerusalem. If the separation barrier is constructed as Israeli authorities plan, the village will be hemmed in from three sides.

Speaking of Sheikh Jarrah, Abdl Aziz reflects, “Today it’s their houses. I never know tomorrow if it’s going to be our house. God knows. God knows.”
She has been attending the weekly protest in Sheikh Jarrah after she goes to Friday prayers at Al Aqsa mosque since the demonstrations began. She takes heart in the peaceful nature of the protest and the fact that both Israelis and Palestinians attend it.
Abdl Aziz, who lived in New York City for 11 years, elaborates, “Over there [in New York], they have Jewish people and Arabic people. There is a chance that we can get along…because over there, our neighbors, we go [to them and] they come to us.”
Even though “things have changed,” Abdl Aziz says regarding the small size of the protest, she keeps coming because of the communal spirit.
Speaking of home evictions, in general, she adds. “You’re sitting there and some [people]—don’t say the Israelis—say aliens came from outer space and they told [you] get out, this house is ours. How [would you] feel?
“That’s the one question I want to ask the world.”

March 16, 2012 Nabi Saleh Stands by Hunger-Striking Prisoner Hana Al-Shalabi; Israeli Protester Shot in the Head
Hana Al-Shalabi, an imprisoned Palestinian woman held under administrative detention after she was released by Israel as part of the last prisoners swap, is on hunger strike for an entire month now to protest her treatment and bring about her release. Nabi Saleh residents and other Palestinians joined Al-Shalabi this Friday, carrying posters, as the weekly procession left the center of the village.
The demonstration was immediately attacked by Israeli occupation forces “skunk” truck, spraying foul smelling water. This was shortly followed by volleys of tear gas canisters shot from a military jeep with an automated cannon. Israeli soldiers also approached the village's built area on foot, until they raided the village and its surroundings entirely, targeting protesters by shooting tear gas and bullets directly at them. In one such attack an Israeli protester was shot in the back of her head by tear gas canister or some other kind of “less-lethal” bullet. She was rushed to a hospital in Ramallah and released after she received initial treatment. At least two more protesters were also injured by Israeli fire. Todays demo followed a week of heavy repression by Israeli forces, who raided Nabi Saleh four nights, entering and searching houses and arresting youths at gunpoint.

On Friday March 16, Israeli forces continued its attacks on Nabi Saleh village, north of Ramallah for the fourth consecutive day.
Israeli forces raided the village and broke into several houses, searching them and their contents.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli forces brought along pictures of the people who participated in the anti-wall and anti-settlement weekly activities, so they could arrest them.

Israeli comrade: "Four Israelis, ten international and two hundred Palestinians demonstrated this week in Qaddom. The demonstration began as usual in a procession accompanied by music to the road which was blocked for Palestinians. This block significantly interfere with the right of movement, and their way of life, increases the cost and prolongs the arrival to the district town of Nablus.
A few minutes after we arrived, the army began to fire volleys of gas and then happened what in my opinion is rare:
Army released a German Shepherd and launched it at the protesters. The dog grabbed one of the protesters, Ahmed, knocking him down and not let go for very long minutes. The guy's uncle and an Israeli activist tried to approach to help him but were not allowed and even had their face sprayed with pepper gas.
During the demonstration, three people were injured by gas canisters, two in foot and another wounded in the shoulder.
After the demonstration we sat with the villagers to be informed about Ahmed's condition, to meet, and comfort Ahmed's family who was really worried. As well as to provide legal assistance to detainees. For the first time people arrested during the protest in Qaddom.
I think they think that if we were more than we were we could help more. Along with this it seems to me there was an understanding of the importance of providing aid and influence the Israeli state forces response. I of course thank our partners.
If you can, please, come to Qaddum so our visibility there will be more noticeable."

During a routine demonstration Palestinians protestors today carried an ancient village, an unusual event occurred when the soldiers arrived they let a dog who bit one of the protesters, Ahmed lust, his arm for several minutes, causing minor injury. According to the demonstrators, and as seen in pictures of the event, including military dog handler, running dog, could not get him to release the jaws. Another demonstrator, a rebel lust, asked to speak with an officer to help rescue dogs from Ahmed's arm, but he was arrested while soldiers doused in pepper spray.
The incident occurred shortly after the weekly demonstration in the village, when young men began throwing stones at Border Police sent a dog into a group of protesters to Lfzra. Demonstrators fled but the dog caught one of them, knocking him and bit his arm. Said Jonathan Pollack, a spokesman for the popular committees in the villages West, the soldiers used dogs in the past, but so far has never bitten by a dog exhibits.

IDF spokesman said in response that "during a riot and unlawful held ancients, west of Nablus, gathered about 100 Palestinians had rolled burning tires and threw stones at security forces, who responded to them the means to disperse demonstrations. Social Struggle
Early evening time-marker on the Jaffa street in Jerusalem. The weather is warm and 150 protesters walking up the street battle spirit energy indoors are marching with the megaphones, large signs, especially with their vocal cords. "The people" are public housing requires shouting hoarsely. This demonstration that the noise much more than usual thanks to late evening audience, as well as the acoustics that helps street protesters.
No, this is not the summer of 2011. This demonstration was held the week of March 2012. Passersby on the street, which seemed a little way surprised, may think that it was the tail of summer's protest, but the truth is that it is more a protest of the future.

Palestine-Israel, Week in and a week out... and the joint struggle seems to start to collect momentum
It takes time till a new village that started to involve in the persistent non-armed popular struggle catch the consistent weekend demonstrations. Beit Dajan seems to be the new addition, but only the coming weeks will tell. This week the hard core is consisted with Beit Ummar, Bil'in, A-Dik, Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarrah, to whom are added the South Hebron actions in support of harassed farmers, and the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood Silwan. Qalandia checkpoint which see more often actions had its focus this week too. The escalation of the war drumming in the assaults on Gaza increased the already high tension resulting from the ferment of the whole region.

Palestinians from the two villages used to use the road when traveling south, so as not to have to enter Nablus, and as a shortcut into Nablus itself. Now, the road is off-limits to Palestinians from the 'awarta junction northwards, and they are prohibited even from crossing it or walking on it except for in the Beit Furik Checkpoint. The checkpoint itself is now open to Palestinian vehicles, after many years of closure, when the Israeli army only allowed Palestinian travelers who fit certain age criteria to cross it by foot. According to Beit Dajan village council head, four local residents were killed by soldiers and settlers around the road.
This was the first demonstration the village is holding against the closure, and it was very well attended, by several hundred men and youth (sadly no women from the village, though a couple of Palestinian female activists from the area attended), four Israelis and some internationals. the spirits were high, and protesters marched towards the gate sealing off their connection to route 557 waving flags, carrying banners and chanting slogans against the settlements, their theft of land and water, and demanding the opening of the road.
One military jeep was waiting as the protest reached the gate, and the Golani soldiers in it began immediately throwing tears gas grenades, demanding that the protesters retreat 200 meters away from the road. One soldier fired several aluminum tear gas canisters on the ground, dangerously close to protesters who were posing no risk to him. Within around 10 minutes several more jeeps arrived with more Golani soldiers and border police officers. They used stun grenades and tear gas against the protesters, and demanded a retreat. It seemed like the organizers were adamant to have a stone-free demonstration, and to decide when to end the protest and how (on their own terms), which they succeeded in doing. In spite of the aggressive behavior of the security forces, the protesters maintained extreme discipline, and not one stone was thrown (though several teargas grenades were returned to their senders). After around 40 minutes the protesters returned to the village in a well-organized way.
The village intends to continue Friday demonstrations every week after noon prayers.

Weekly Demo 09.03.2012 About 10 Israelis and 10 internationals (including one British punk band) joined the weekly Palestinian demonstration in Bil'in against Israeli repression. The demo went on mostly as it did in the last few weeks, with lots of fence cutting and a relative moderation in the use of gas. However, the use of rubber bullets increased markedly, leading to the injury of two demonstrators, and there was at least one occasion of shooting of gas canisters directly at protesters. One demonstrator rode his horse back and forth between the barbed wire fences, apparently to express the demonstrators' spirit of freedom (but not the horse's).

About 25 villagers of Ni'lin, four Israelis and seven international marched As every week on Friday towards the separation wall who used to rob village land. When they reached the fence some demonstrators attached tire to the wall and set fire to harm the wall. After the fire died activists began - as usual, banging on the wall with huge hammers and a wedge for quarrying rocks. The wall have already a small hole that allows to look to the other side for observers to look through it and warn of what the state force are doing on the other side.
A Palestinian activist speaking fluent Hebrew took turns with an Israeli activist and they used a megaphone to speak to the soldiers. The soldiers tried the skunk water spray to deter the demonstrators but failed as the wind blew it back and drew volleys of stones. The added tear gas was too not effective. After 3 hours the soldiers crossed the wall and drove the demonstrators to the village shooting at protesters. As result, one demonstrator got injured with rubber coated bullet..

About 200 Palestinians with 10 Israelis and internationals Joined Qaddum Weekly Demonstration. The demo which started with high spirits, barricades and burning tireys was met with relatively mild tear gas and repeated efforts of the Israeli state forces to enter the village. The army tried to open the way with a tractor but the intense resistance of the shabab deterred the tractor and the armed force. After about 2 hours the demonstrators marched in a victorious mode to the village.

International Women's Day at Qalandia checkpoint
Thursday, 60 Palestinian women protesting the oppression of women and the occupation marched from Ramallah to the Qalandia checkpoint. When they approached it, 40 Israeli s and international activists joined them. The more than 100 Palestinian and Israeli women and men were attacked at the Qalandia checkpoint by the Israeli military forces with stinking water and tear gas. As a response, the local shabab threw on them stones. The demonstrators held a whole hour before dispersing.
Several injuries were reported, including one woman who was hospitalized after being shot with a rubber-coated bullet.

After around 40 minutes the protesters returned to the village in a well-organized way.
The village intends to continue Friday demonstrations every week after noon prayers.

Weekly Demo 09.03.2012 About 10 Israelis and 10 internationals (including one British punk band) joined the weekly Palestinian demonstration in Bil'in against Israeli repression. The demo went on mostly as it did in the last few weeks, with lots of fence cutting and a relative moderation in the use of gas. However, the use of rubber bullets increased markedly, leading to the injury of two demonstrators, and there was at least one occasion of shooting of gas canisters directly at protesters. One demonstrator rode his horse back and forth between the barbed wire fences, apparently to express the demonstrators' spirit of freedom (but not the horse's).

About 25 villagers of Ni'lin, four Israelis and seven international marched As every week on Friday towards the separation wall who used to rob village land. When they reached the fence some demonstrators attached tire to the wall and set fire to harm the wall. After the fire died activists began - as usual, banging on the wall with huge hammers and a wedge for quarrying rocks. The wall have already a small hole that allows to look to the other side for observers to look through it and warn of what the state force are doing on the other side.
A Palestinian activist speaking fluent Hebrew took turns with an Israeli activist and they used a megaphone to speak to the soldiers. The soldiers tried the skunk water spray to deter the demonstrators but failed as the wind blew it back and drew volleys of stones. The added tear gas was too not effective. After 3 hours the soldiers crossed the wall and drove the demonstrators to the village shooting at protesters. As result, one demonstrator got injured with rubber coated bullet..

About 200 Palestinians with 10 Israelis and internationals Joined Qaddum Weekly Demonstration. The demo which started with high spirits, barricades and burning tireys was met with relatively mild tear gas and repeated efforts of the Israeli state forces to enter the village. The army tried to open the way with a tractor but the intense resistance of the shabab deterred the tractor and the armed force. After about 2 hours the demonstrators marched in a victorious mode to the village.

International Women's Day at Qalandia checkpoint
Thursday, 60 Palestinian women protesting the oppression of women and the occupation marched from Ramallah to the Qalandia checkpoint. When they approached it, 40 Israeli s and international activists joined them. The more than 100 Palestinian and Israeli women and men were attacked at the Qalandia checkpoint by the Israeli military forces with stinking water and tear gas. As a response, the local shabab threw on them stones. The demonstrators held a whole hour before dispersing.
Several injuries were reported, including one woman who was hospitalized after being shot with a rubber-coated bullet.

Palestine-Israel, The last winter joint struggle at the end of the stormy period
Some times it feels like a Sisyphus endeavor, but the persistent struggle continue. Small gains and the faint call of the first swallows that surfed the wind of the last winter storm are bringing the spring to the tortured east of the Mediterranean sea. The news about the successes of the B.D.S. and other solidarity actions of international support encourage us in spite of the soaring wave of the Israeli settler colonialist efforts.

Not too many Israelis and Internationals (a bit above dozen) joined the local Palestinian villagers in the weekly demo in Bil'in against the oppression of the Palestinian people by the Israeli regime. Because of the rain the protesters were driven to the wall, but the weather miraculously brightened just as we got there. Right at the beginning the soldiers shot a rubber bullet, just to show that they can, and then gassed the shabab along the southern fence. The protesters adapted to the wind and moved to the northern fence, where an army jeep was stoned and portions of barbed wire and iron poles were removed and confiscated with little army repression. At one point a firetruck approached. The local popular committee managed to stop the shabab from throwing stones at the adjacent army jeep, and called to the firemen in Hebrew, English and hand gestures that it was safe to pass, but the driver decided to turn back. Shortly after, the demonstration was declared over, just in time for the drizzle to resume.

Some 150 people joined the weekly demonstration in Kufr Qaddum this week. Army fired tear-gas canisters directly at protesters in complete disregard to its own open-fire regulations.
The march preceded from the center of the village towards the main road, where the army awaited the demonstration, shooting large amounts of tear gas canisters, some of them directly at protesters. The army also used the "skunk", a water cannon spraying foul smelling water against the peaceful demonstrators. Several protesters were injured and treated in the field.
Kufr Qaddum, a small town of 3,500 inhabitants, is situated in the northern West Bank, between Nablus and Qalqilya. Qaddum's total land area used to consist of nearly 19,000 dunams, of which 11,000 are now under total Israeli control. Village lands have been repeatedly confiscated to build and expand the settlement of Kedumim. The expansion of one the settlement's neighborhoods, Mitzpe Yishai, became relatively well-known when even the Israeli Civil Administration described land takeover as theft. Lands that were officially recognized as belonging to private owners in Qaddum were taken over in an orderly manner, without any official authorization.

The most recent water bills received by residents of the unrecognized villages, by those with running water, appear to be 69% more expensive than their previous ones.
On Tuesday, 21st February, 2012, government representatives accompanied by police arrived to demolish two homes in Laqia. Three more homes were demolished by their owners, out of fear that they would be charged with the demolition.
On Wednesday, 22nd February, 2012, government representatives accompanied by police came, and using tractors and ploughs, destroyed some 1,500 dunums (dunum=1000 sq.m.) of land sowed with wheat near Bir El-Hamam, Wadi Ruan, and other places. These lands were stolen from the Bedouins by the state, and now the state is offering to lease these lands to the Bedouin for NIS 2 per dunum. By doing so, the Bedouins will be recognizing state ownership over lands that were stolen from them.

Palestine-Israel, In spite of late winter storms and raining showers the joint struggle continues
The common theme of the week end demonstration was the anniversary 18 of the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre by the colonialist settler Dr. Goldstein and the intense harassment that followed it.... as if the punishment of the Palestinian victims is the logical conclusion. The demonstration in Hebron drew hundreds of Palestinians, substantial part of the Israeli anarchists against the wall, and other Israeli activists - more than 100, similar to the numbers a week before in the 7th year anniversary demo in Bil'in. Both the struggle in the occupied west bank against occupation, and the social justice struggle within Israel are on the verge of the Spring uprising.

Saturday February 25 (40 people of the town Beit Ummar arrested last two months (there are about 300 people of the town in Ofer Military Jail).
On Saturday, dozens of protestors marched from the village of Beit-Umar towards the nearby settlements, and were dispersed by the army.
Today Beit Ommar Weekly Protest- 25/2/2012, organized by the popular committee Today Palestinian people together with international and Israeli solidarity activists joined together in Beit Ommar to protest against the Israeli apartheid occupation prosecutions and in solidarity with Tal'at Rameih who was killed (martyred) yesterday in cold blood by the Israeli occupation army during a peaceful protest in Qualandia, and in solidarity with Hana Shalabi who is on hunger strike for 8 days protesting against Israeli detention. When we reached to the area adjacent to the Illegal Carmi Tsur settlement, 10s of heavily armed soldiers stopped us and declared the area a closed military zone and asked us to leave the area, of course we refused to leave and then they started to push us and threatened to arrest us, but we kept on moving towards the settlement, then the soldiers divided them selves into two groups, one was blocking our way and the other was shooting a huge number of tear gas grenades, but luckily, the weather was windy and no one of the protesters was hurt or inhaled gas. The protest lasted for about one hour, and no one of us was arrested. Our last protest, four were arrested including two Israeli activists but were released later the same day, and the other two (members of Beit Ommar popular committee) stayed in detention for three days and then released after paying fines, 1500 shekels each.

Less than 10 Israelis and over 20 internationals joined the weekly Palestinian demo against the Occupation in Bil'in. Protesters marched from the village center to the wall, where the army was already shooting gas at the shabab along the southern stretch of the wall. But in the area of the main procession the local army chief continued his policy from the last few weeks of relatively moderate (key word being "relatively") use of gas and rubber bullets against protesters. This allowed the local shabab to practice their stone throwing technique while posing for the army's intelligence cameras, cut substantial stretches of barbed wire and confiscate scrap metal from the fence. After a while a few soldiers were sent across the gate, so protesters retreated, and since the soldiers did not pursue, the demo soon dispersed.
Dozens suffered from tear gas inhalation in the village of Bil'in west of Ramallah in the weekly march which was organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall in Bil'in, this march came a revival of the resistance week of the Israeli apartheid against the Palestinian people, as well as supporting the Palestinian prisoners, and the anniversary 18 of the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre, the march including participation of a delegation from the Arab Palestinian Liberation Front from Ramallah represented by Salim Hamdan and Khalid Sakr, a French delegation, a Belgian delegation, people of Bil'in , Israeli and international peace activists.
The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village heading to the land which was liberated last June, participants raised Palestinian flags and banners of the Palestinian movements, some of participants wore masks on their heads colored with Palestinian flag, they chanted slogans calling for national unity, slogans calling to the departure of the occupation, destruction of the apartheid wall, calling for freedom of Palestinian prisoners and they called the Muslims, Arabs as well as Palestinians to support Jerusalem and al aqsa mosque.
Upon the arrival to the area of Abu Lemon nature reservation, the participants were able to cut the barbed wire and to break through it, then the soldiers Who were situated behind the concrete wall shot rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas density toward the participants, television crews (specially Palestine TV crew) and ambulance, which resulted the injury of dozens of protesters cases of suffocation, then some of the youth threw stones to the soldiers.

Some 500 protesters, including foreign and Israeli activists, gathered on Friday marking the 18th anniversary of the closure of the street, which was closed by the Israeli army in 1994 following the Hebron mosque massacre by Baruch Goldstein, an Israeli settler, who went on a rampage inside Al Ibrahimi Mosque, killing 29 Palestinian worshipers.

"Open Shuhada Day was commemorated in demonstrations throughout the West Bank this Friday. In the heart of Hebron itself two protest marches took place: one organized by "Youth Against Settlements" and the other by the three leftist Palestinian parties – the PFLP, the DFLP and the communist People's Party. Together, both demonstrations were attended by about one thousand people, including some 100 Israelis and international activists. Both demonstrations were met with army forces, which tried to disperse the non-violent processions with tear gas, "skunk" water cannons and arrests.
While the first demonstration developed into heavy clashes, including stone throwing and Molotov cocktails, the second remained non-violent, and ended when a funeral procession needed to pass through the same street as the demonstration. However, the funeral too was attacked with water canons. A video from this demonstration shows the army's use of an American made non-lethal weapon. One can hear a recording saying "This is a test of the Long Range Acoustic Device – LRAD – from American Technology Corporation".
Meanwhile, weekly demonstrations in several villages joined in on the demand to open Shuhada St.
In Ma'asara several dozen demonstrators marched towards lands appropriated by the construction of the "separation fence" – which has recently been restarted after a halt which lasted about three years. They were stopped at the entrance to the village by soldiers, and eventually returned into the village.

Activists in Hebron are reporting that Hebron medics are saying there are more than 30 injured included 5 medics after Israeli Occupation Forces attacked unarmed demonstration - firing teargas, sound grenades, skunk and also using the scream.

In Nabi Saleh too the demonstration focused on the Hebron struggle. According to the Popular Committees' website: "protesters were shortly met by a volley of tear-gas canisters and rubber coated bullets. Some clashes erupted near the entrance to the village and persisted for a while. At a certain point, an army brigade invaded the village, for the first time in months, to chase and arrest local youth. While not succeeding in making any arrests, the army remained in the village for over an hour, shooting massive amounts of tear-gas and rubber coated bullets inside a populated area".

Before day break, on 8^th February, 2012, border police units and Golani Brigade soldiers
broke into 44 apartments in the Old City of Hebron, and searched them. During the
incursion, they smashed the entrance doors. In some homes they broke inner doors and
caused further damage. In at least one apartment, it was claimed that they stole money and a boy's watch. In some of the homes the entire families were put in one room during the search. In other cases, families were taken out to the street for some hours.
The whole action took place from 00:30 a.m. and finished at 07:30 a.m.

Saturday February 25 (40 people of the town Beit Ummar arrested last two months (there are about 300 people of the town in Ofer Military Jail).
On Saturday, dozens of protestors marched from the village of Beit-Umar towards the nearby settlements, and were dispersed by the army.
Today Beit Ommar Weekly Protest- 25/2/2012, organized by the popular committee Today Palestinian people together with international and Israeli solidarity activists joined together in Beit Ommar to protest against the Israeli apartheid occupation prosecutions and in solidarity with Tal'at Rameih who was killed (martyred) yesterday in cold blood by the Israeli occupation army during a peaceful protest in Qualandia, and in solidarity with Hana Shalabi who is on hunger strike for 8 days protesting against Israeli detention. When we reached to the area adjacent to the Illegal Carmi Tsur settlement, 10s of heavily armed soldiers stopped us and declared the area a closed military zone and asked us to leave the area, of course we refused to leave and then they started to push us and threatened to arrest us, but we kept on moving towards the settlement, then the soldiers divided them selves into two groups, one was blocking our way and the other was shooting a huge number of tear gas grenades, but luckily, the weather was windy and no one of the protesters was hurt or inhaled gas. The protest lasted for about one hour, and no one of us was arrested. Our last protest, four were arrested including two Israeli activists but were released later the same day, and the other two (members of Beit Ommar popular committee) stayed in detention for three days and then released after paying fines, 1500 shekels each.

Less than 10 Israelis and over 20 internationals joined the weekly Palestinian demo against the Occupation in Bil'in. Protesters marched from the village center to the wall, where the army was already shooting gas at the shabab along the southern stretch of the wall. But in the area of the main procession the local army chief continued his policy from the last few weeks of relatively moderate (key word being "relatively") use of gas and rubber bullets against protesters. This allowed the local shabab to practice their stone throwing technique while posing for the army's intelligence cameras, cut substantial stretches of barbed wire and confiscate scrap metal from the fence. After a while a few soldiers were sent across the gate, so protesters retreated, and since the soldiers did not pursue, the demo soon dispersed.
Dozens suffered from tear gas inhalation in the village of Bil'in west of Ramallah in the weekly march which was organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall in Bil'in, this march came a revival of the resistance week of the Israeli apartheid against the Palestinian people, as well as supporting the Palestinian prisoners, and the anniversary 18 of the Ibrahimi Mosque massacre, the march including participation of a delegation from the Arab Palestinian Liberation Front from Ramallah represented by Salim Hamdan and Khalid Sakr, a French delegation, a Belgian delegation, people of Bil'in , Israeli and international peace activists.
The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village heading to the land which was liberated last June, participants raised Palestinian flags and banners of the Palestinian movements, some of participants wore masks on their heads colored with Palestinian flag, they chanted slogans calling for national unity, slogans calling to the departure of the occupation, destruction of the apartheid wall, calling for freedom of Palestinian prisoners and they called the Muslims, Arabs as well as Palestinians to support Jerusalem and al aqsa mosque.
Upon the arrival to the area of Abu Lemon nature reservation, the participants were able to cut the barbed wire and to break through it, then the soldiers Who were situated behind the concrete wall shot rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas density toward the participants, television crews (specially Palestine TV crew) and ambulance, which resulted the injury of dozens of protesters cases of suffocation, then some of the youth threw stones to the soldiers.

"Open Shuhada Day was commemorated in demonstrations throughout the West Bank this Friday. In the heart of Hebron itself two protest marches took place: one organized by "Youth Against Settlements" and the other by the three leftist Palestinian parties – the PFLP, the DFLP and the communist People's Party. Together, both demonstrations were attended by about one thousand people, including some 100 Israelis and international activists. Both demonstrations were met with army forces, which tried to disperse the non-violent processions with tear gas, "skunk" water cannons and arrests.
While the first demonstration developed into heavy clashes, including stone throwing and Molotov cocktails, the second remained non-violent, and ended when a funeral procession needed to pass through the same street as the demonstration. However, the funeral too was attacked with water canons. A video from this demonstration shows the army's use of an American made non-lethal weapon. One can hear a recording saying "This is a test of the Long Range Acoustic Device – LRAD – from American Technology Corporation".
Meanwhile, weekly demonstrations in several villages joined in on the demand to open Shuhada St.
In Ma'asara several dozen demonstrators marched towards lands appropriated by the construction of the "separation fence" – which has recently been restarted after a halt which lasted about three years. They were stopped at the entrance to the village by soldiers, and eventually returned into the village.

Activists in Hebron are reporting that Hebron medics are saying there are more than 30 injured included 5 medics after Israeli Occupation Forces attacked unarmed demonstration - firing teargas, sound grenades, skunk and also using the scream.
About 60 were injured or intensely suffocated from tear gas. Part of them spent hours in hospital treatments. More than 10 were detained.

In Nabi Saleh too the demonstration focused on the Hebron struggle. According to the Popular Committees' website: "protesters were shortly met by a volley of tear-gas canisters and rubber coated bullets. Some clashes erupted near the entrance to the village and persisted for a while. At a certain point, an army brigade invaded the village, for the first time in months, to chase and arrest local youth. While not succeeding in making any arrests, the army remained in the village for over an hour, shooting massive amounts of tear-gas and rubber coated bullets inside a populated area".

Before day break, on 8^th February, 2012, border police units and Golani Brigade soldiers
broke into 44 apartments in the Old City of Hebron, and searched them. During the
incursion, they smashed the entrance doors. In some homes they broke inner doors and
caused further damage. In at least one apartment, it was claimed that they stole money and a boy's watch. In some of the homes the entire families were put in one room during the search. In other cases, families were taken out to the street for some hours.
The whole action took place from 00:30 a.m. and finished at 07:30 a.m.

Palestine-Israel, 10 years of joint struggle started at the beginning of the separation fence reach a critical mass.
The first starter was the Mas'ha Joint camp of Israeli anarchists an some others with local Palestinian activists. It took two years of sporadic struggles till the Bil'in persistent location of struggle materialized. Some three years of sporadic struggles in parallel to Bil'in till Ni'ilin village join as the second persistent location. It took additional two years and the addition of Ma'sare before stable and persistent locations of struggle expanded beyond the separation fence when the struggle in Beit Ummar stabilized an heroic Nabi Saleh confrontations with encroaching colonial settlement too, expand the scope of the joint struggle. The maturing of the joint comity of the popular local struggles and the joining the struggle of new villages lately my be the verge of a qualitative upsurge of the struggle of popular grass root communities.

"In the beginning there were engineers, soldiers and bulldozers. It was after the International Court of Law in The Hague had already barred construction of The Separation Wall within the West Bank, and before the Israeli High Court of Justice found the Wall’s route in Bil’in illegal. It was after someone somewhere decided that more than 2,000 dunams of the village’s agricultural lands were to be annexed to Israel by force, and before countless people would be arrested and injured, and two killed. The engineers marked which trees to uproot, and the villagers removed the marks. The soldiers came to disperse the demonstrations, and the demonstrators tied themselves to the olive trees. The bulldozers started tearing the land, and the activists stood in their way. Day after day. A battle for every tree and every yard.
Seven years have passed since the first engineers, soldiers and bulldozers appeared in Bil’in. Seven years since the local Popular Committee against the Wall and the Settlements was founded, drawing from the experience of villages such as Mes’kha, Bidu and Budrus. Seven years since the Israelis and internationals were first invited to join in on the popular struggle. In the years that passed a fence was erected, causing incredible damage, and recently torn down in favor of a new wall, in a route which gives the village back some of its lands – but not all of them. The village has gained international attention and has become an example of a people’s unarmed struggle for liberation – a struggle which goes on to this day.
Targeting Israeli solidarity
To celebrate the struggle’s anniversary, the popular committee issued a special call, inviting Palestinians, Israelis and internationals to join together and raise the flag once more – focusing on the demand to release Khader Adnan on the 62nd day of hunger strike, as well as prompting Palestinians everywhere to join the popular struggle against the occupation.
In the past, events such as this would cause the army to react with extreme measures of oppression against the village – night-time raids, arrests, curfews, etc. However, in recent years it seems that the greater part of Israel’s attempt to crush the annual special demonstrations has been aimed mostly at Israelis. This was also the case yesterday, as mass police and army forces were deployed to the Ni’lin checkpoint in order to intercept the bus and the cars on their way from Tel Aviv. Upon being recognized as activists (usually five in a car, none of them religious, hence probably not going to the nearby settlements), the Israelis had their IDs taken and registered, and were warned not to proceed to Bil’in through alternative roads, as the entire region has been declared a closed military zone.
This was but one part of a well coordinated operation: all roads leaving highway 443 into Palestinian villages were blocked and guarded with riot police. A bus leaving Jerusalem was intercepted en-route, ten activists on it arrested, and the bus sent back. Private cars were turned back in others checkpoints, and while several managed to slip through – some had to give up on the demonstration. The bus from Tel Aviv eventually unloaded in the middle of highways 443, and activists climbed a hill and marched through olive groves to nearby villages, where they took taxis to Bil’in, dodging army patrols. The bus driver was arrested shortly after, without cause, only to be released later in the evening.
As a result of the police’s actions, only some 60-70 percent of the 200 Israelis who set off to join the demonstration actually managed to get there, and fulfill their basic right to protest. As all this did not even slightly change the nature of the demonstration, which was very similar to the regular weekly demonstrations, one might wonder why Israel would go to such great lengths to prevent Israelis coming to this specific demonstration.
A possible answer to this question was offered by Noam Sheizaf, who at the end of the demonstration assessed that the whole point of the police actions was to prevent “regular” Israelis – as opposed to the die-hard activists who travel to the West Bank weekly – from meeting with Palestinians. “This policy is all about forcing Israelis to visit the occupied territories and meet Palestinians only as enemies”, Sheizaf told me. “The popular committee went to great lengths to invite people like myself here – sending e-mails, opening a Facebook event, etc. – and the police went to great lengths to prevent me from taking the very basic step of showing solidarity with the village.
The struggle continues
Those who made it to Bil’in joined some internationals and hundreds of Palestinians from the village and the region, and marched from the village center to the route of the old fence, now dismantled, where speeches were made. From there demonstrators marched to the new wall, with activists wearing Khader Adnan masks and prison service uniforms leading the way. A leader in the popular committee mentioned that while no-one in the committee is a member of Islamic Jihad, they are all in support of Adnan, who joined in the past a demonstration in the village in 2005.
Once at the wall, several demonstrators were able to cross the barbed wire protecting it, and put up pictures of Adnan and Palestinian flags on the wall. It wasn’t long before the army started shooting tear gas and spraying the demonstration with ghastly “skunk” water, which resulted in the gradual retreat of the majority of demonstrators and the beginning of stone-throwing by the village youth. The demonstration ended after two hours in atypical cold winds and little rain, with no serious injuries or arrests. As usual, demonstrations also took place in Ni’lin, Ma’asara, Qadum, Nabi-Saleh and other villages."
The march drew its participants from a wide range of Palestinian national parties, as well as populations from the neighboring villages and members of the Popular Committees in the governorate of Ramallah and Al Bireh.

1. A Demonstration in Issawiya: stopping the Mt. Scopus Slopes National Park
Last Friday, in stormy weather, dozens of residents from Issawiya and A-Tour held a prayer in the observatory overlooking the designated park, and we joined them in a march protesting the plan to establish a National Park on their private lands. Over a hundred people walked through A-Tour in yet another step in bringing the issue to public attention.
This week, Israelis and the residents of Issawiya and A-Tour continue in a joint effort to prevent the establishment of the national park, and expose the political agenda motivating some members of the Nature and Parks Authority.

Activists are reporting that the weather is stormy in Nabi Saleh. Nabi Saleh youth have blocked the road with big rocks to try and prevent IOF reaching the village. IOF have attempted to spray unarmed demonstrators with skunk but apparently the weather is so windy it is not reaching the protestors.

Popular resistance in Ni'ilin revived: Dozens protest the Wall and settlements
Protesting at the Western end of the Wall, residents of Ni'ilin are once again met with army violence and repression.
Some 50 residents of Ni'ilin, joined by a handful of Israeli and international supporters, joined the weekly demonstration against the Wall and settlements. The demonstration took place on the Western side of the village, an area where the wall becomes a fence and where demonstrators and soldiers can directly see one and other. Protesters chanted slogans demanding the return of Ni'ilin's lands as well as the protesting the illegality of Israel's occupation and burned tires near the fence. The army responded with a relentless cloud of tear gas.
The residents of Ni'ilin began organizing when construction of the Wall first began in 2004. While a court injunction temporarily delayed the theft of village lands, protests were renewed in 2008, as the construction of the Wall started to materialize. Five unarmed demonstrators have been killed by Israeli crowd control measures. Of the five killed, one was a child and two were aged 18. In 2008, American activist Tristan Anderson was shot in the head with a high velocity tear gas canister and permanently paralyzed. In an attempt to crush the demonstrations, Israel has built a section of concrete eight meter high wall in the village of Ni’ilin. This has not happened in other villages that are actively resisting the wall.

About three hundred Palestinians, Israelis and international walked toward the road.
Kadom procession accompanied by singing and a lot of joy. We got up to barbed wire spool
approximately 40 meters from the soldiers who after few minutes started showering us with clouds of gas clouds. One Palestinian was wounded in the leg by tear gas canister which probably broke his leg. Kadom's wonderful shabab responded as usual by their fight back. After a pause the Israeli state powers started again throwing gas and entered the village.
The gas enters into the houses. Soon they started firing bullets wrapped with rubber. Andrei was slightly wounded in the leg, but no real harm. Two Palestinians were also injured by rubbed bullets in their legs and were rushed to Qalqilya hospital. We wish them fast recovery. Then when the rain began towards the end of the demonstration we Dispersed.

For some time now , the Palestinians of Kafr a-Dik, situated west of Salfit, have demonstrated against the robbery of their land by Israel .
A new settlement called Leshem was inaugurated on their land – under the claim that it’s merely the extension of an older settlement, called Aley Zahav. The lorries that are building the new neighborhood pass through privately owned land – an olive grove – of a resident of Kafr a-Dik, instead of via the settlement. The resident appealed to the Supreme Court, so that it would stop the lorries’ passage through her land. The state’s answer was that it acknowledges the ownership, but still requests passage through the land.
Ever since the demonstrations started, the IDF has blocked the western access road to the village…

The village has gained international attention and has become an example of a people’s unarmed struggle for liberation – a struggle which goes on to this day.
Targeting Israeli solidarity
To celebrate the struggle’s anniversary, the popular committee issued a special call, inviting Palestinians, Israelis and internationals to join together and raise the flag once more – focusing on the demand to release Khader Adnan on the 62nd day of hunger strike, as well as prompting Palestinians everywhere to join the popular struggle against the occupation.
In the past, events such as this would cause the army to react with extreme measures of oppression against the village – night-time raids, arrests, curfews, etc. However, in recent years it seems that the greater part of Israel’s attempt to crush the annual special demonstrations has been aimed mostly at Israelis. This was also the case yesterday, as mass police and army forces were deployed to the Ni’lin checkpoint in order to intercept the bus and the cars on their way from Tel Aviv. Upon being recognized as activists (usually five in a car, none of them religious, hence probably not going to the nearby settlements), the Israelis had their IDs taken and registered, and were warned not to proceed to Bil’in through alternative roads, as the entire region has been declared a closed military zone.
This was but one part of a well coordinated operation: all roads leaving highway 443 into Palestinian villages were blocked and guarded with riot police. A bus leaving Jerusalem was intercepted en-route, ten activists on it arrested, and the bus sent back. Private cars were turned back in others checkpoints, and while several managed to slip through – some had to give up on the demonstration. The bus from Tel Aviv eventually unloaded in the middle of highways 443, and activists climbed a hill and marched through olive groves to nearby villages, where they took taxis to Bil’in, dodging army patrols. The bus driver was arrested shortly after, without cause, only to be released later in the evening.
As a result of the police’s actions, only some 60-70 percent of the 200 Israelis who set off to join the demonstration actually managed to get there, and fulfill their basic right to protest. As all this did not even slightly change the nature of the demonstration, which was very similar to the regular weekly demonstrations, one might wonder why Israel would go to such great lengths to prevent Israelis coming to this specific demonstration.
A possible answer to this question was offered by Noam Sheizaf, who at the end of the demonstration assessed that the whole point of the police actions was to prevent “regular” Israelis – as opposed to the die-hard activists who travel to the West Bank weekly – from meeting with Palestinians. “This policy is all about forcing Israelis to visit the occupied territories and meet Palestinians only as enemies”, Sheizaf told me. “The popular committee went to great lengths to invite people like myself here – sending e-mails, opening a Facebook event, etc. – and the police went to great lengths to prevent me from taking the very basic step of showing solidarity with the village.
The struggle continues
Those who made it to Bil’in joined some internationals and hundreds of Palestinians from the village and the region, and marched from the village center to the route of the old fence, now dismantled, where speeches were made. From there demonstrators marched to the new wall, with activists wearing Khader Adnan masks and prison service uniforms leading the way. A leader in the popular committee mentioned that while no-one in the committee is a member of Islamic Jihad, they are all in support of Adnan, who joined in the past a demonstration in the village in 2005.
Once at the wall, several demonstrators were able to cross the barbed wire protecting it, and put up pictures of Adnan and Palestinian flags on the wall. It wasn’t long before the army started shooting tear gas and spraying the demonstration with ghastly “skunk” water, which resulted in the gradual retreat of the majority of demonstrators and the beginning of stone-throwing by the village youth. The demonstration ended after two hours in atypical cold winds and little rain, with no serious injuries or arrests. As usual, demonstrations also took place in Ni’lin, Ma’asara, Qadum, Nabi-Saleh and other villages."
The march drew its participants from a wide range of Palestinian national parties, as well as populations from the neighboring villages and members of the Popular Committees in the governorate of Ramallah and Al Bireh.

Popular resistance in Ni'ilin revived: Dozens protest the Wall and settlements
Protesting at the Western end of the Wall, residents of Ni'ilin are once again met with army violence and repression.
Some 50 residents of Ni'ilin, joined by a handful of Israeli and international supporters, joined the weekly demonstration against the Wall and settlements. The demonstration took place on the Western side of the village, an area where the wall becomes a fence and where demonstrators and soldiers can directly see one and other. Protesters chanted slogans demanding the return of Ni'ilin's lands as well as the protesting the illegality of Israel's occupation and burned tires near the fence. The army responded with a relentless cloud of tear gas.
The residents of Ni'ilin began organizing when construction of the Wall first began in 2004. While a court injunction temporarily delayed the theft of village lands, protests were renewed in 2008, as the construction of the Wall started to materialize. Five unarmed demonstrators have been killed by Israeli crowd control measures. Of the five killed, one was a child and two were aged 18. In 2008, American activist Tristan Anderson was shot in the head with a high velocity tear gas canister and permanently paralyzed. In an attempt to crush the demonstrations, Israel has built a section of concrete eight meter high wall in the village of Ni’ilin. This has not happened in other villages that are actively resisting the wall.

approximately 40 meters from the soldiers who after few minutes started showering us with clouds of gas clouds. One Palestinian was wounded in the leg by tear gas canister which probably broke his leg. Kadom's wonderful shabab responded as usual by their fight back. After a pause the Israeli state powers started again throwing gas and entered the village.
The gas enters into the houses. Soon they started firing bullets wrapped with rubber. Andrei was slightly wounded in the leg, but no real harm. Two Palestinians were also injured by rubbed bullets in their legs and were rushed to Qalqilya hospital. We wish them fast recovery. Then when the rain began towards the end of the demonstration we Dispersed.

For some time now , the Palestinians of Kafr a-Dik, situated west of Salfit, have demonstrated against the robbery of their land by Israel .
A new settlement called Leshem was inaugurated on their land – under the claim that it’s merely the extension of an older settlement, called Aley Zahav. The lorries that are building the new neighborhood pass through privately owned land – an olive grove – of a resident of Kafr a-Dik, instead of via the settlement. The resident appealed to the Supreme Court, so that it would stop the lorries’ passage through her land. The state’s answer was that it acknowledges the ownership, but still requests passage through the land.
Ever since the demonstrations started, the IDF has blocked the western access road to the village…

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle may be the model of the third unarmed Intifada
The Israeli state forces harassed the Nebi Saleh harsher than the neighboring villages who demonstrated against the separation fence. Beit Ummar who is too bordering the separation fence but the joint demos there were against the neighboring colonial settlement got harsher treatment than the not far Ma'asarah or far ones of Bil'in and Ni'ilin. The three new locations of joint struggle: A-Dic, Kufr Qaddum, and Qaryout which are deeper in the occupied west bank get an out of proportion repression. It seems the Israeli authorities are afraid the "bad example" will catch momentum and developed into an unarmed Intifada to which it do not have means for neutralize it. (For years they tried to put end to the demonstrations in Bil'in and Ni'ilin, but failed as they could not justify the harsher means needed.)

"Our protest today was in solidarity with the prisoner Khader Adnan who is on hunger strike for 56 days asking to stop the administrative detention and to release all the Palestinian prisoners from the Israeli jails.
When we arrived adjacent to Carmi Tsur settlers colony, more than 20 heavily equipped Israeli soldiers attacked us with sound bombs, then they tried to push us out of the area, but we resisted them and stayed, then they arrested Saqer Abu Mariya violently and hit him in front of us before taking him away. After that, they declared the area as a closed military zone and showed us a very old military order dated back to April 2011, but we refused and carried on and marched adjacent to the so called security fence built around the colony in 2006, and again they attacked us and arrested Yousef Abu Mariya 38 years old, who is a father to three kids, arrested 18 times before and who is a popular committee member, while they arrested him, they hit him with the gun butt on the forehead and was bleeding, in addition, they arrested two of the Israeli activists: John Brown 32 years old and Mekhal Rotem 25 years old, by the end of the protest they have thrown 10s of tear gas canisters and most of the participants suffered from inhealing gas.
Our Main Messages were:
1. To free Khader Adnan immediately due to the risk on his life.
2. To free all Palestinian prisoners from the Israeli jails.
3. To stop stealing the farmers land in Beit Ommar, last week they have built extra caravans on Mohamad Motlak Za’akik inside the so called security fence.
4. Allowing the farmers to access their land freely, mainly those adjacent to the Israeli colonies in Beit Ommar.
5. Freedom of movement on our roads.
Both Israelis who were arrested have been released. Two Palestinian members of the Beit Umar Popular Committee have yet to go into investigation."

The marking process started from the entrance of Al Aroub refugee camp along the way to Beit Ommar in order to put a four meters high fence to isolate the town and the camp from the main street, to restrict the movement of Palestinian citizens in these areas, to prevent them from exercising their normal lives and put them in ghettos and cantons. This terrorist act is part of the collective punishment policy pursued by the Israeli apartheid occupation, in light of the increasing peaceful popular resistance activities in these areas. Note that the Israeli occupation authorities have finished the plans and maintained the approvals necessary to construct a new apartheid road (bypass road) on Beit Ommar farmers land, the length of this road will be 8km and 80 meters wide, it will annex more than 1200 donums of Beit Ommar and Halhoul agricultural land (one donum = 10002m. This road will serve only the Israeli colonists and army, and will enable them to avoid driving through the Palestinian localities in the area."

Over 10 Israelis and almost 10 internationals joined the weekly demo against Israeli oppression in Bil'in. Due to the drizzle, demonstrators took their cars to the wall, where the shabab was already spread along the south stretch of the fence. The demonstrators marched with Khader Adnan posters. One of them crossed the barbed wire that protects the other barbed wire, ditch and wall behind it, and was immediately shot in his leg with a rubber coated metal bullet. The shabab showered stones at the two soldiers who peered over the wall, protected by another net of wire, who did not respond for a while, other than by taking puctures. Then a big round of gas canisters, creating a clowd of gas the wind blew towards the demonstrators' faces. This and the cold led the demonstrators to call it a day.

Freday at Kufr A-Dik: We Refuse to Become an Enclave
The village of Kufr a-Dik, near Nablus, has recently joined the wave of weekly popular demonstrations taking place across the West Bank. In recent years, the village has slowly become an enclave surrounded by settlements and roadblocks. Now, it is going to be besieged also by the new "Eastern Wall".
The village of Kufr a-Dik refuses to become an isolated enclave: The road connecting the village to the closest highway has been blocked by the army for years. On the other side of this road, two settlements overlook the village's agricultural lands, which have been long confiscated and registered as state lands. On these lands a new settlement is currently being built. The settlement is portrayed as a neighborhood of Aley Zahav, but is located in significant distance from it. The new settlement would take over the remains of the village's agricultural lands, and create territorial continuity between the Jewish settlements.
Settlement expansion is congruent with the route of the Wall planned to be constructed in the area. The approved construction plan, deep inside the West Bank, is part of what has been known as the "Ariel Finger" segment of the Wall. The plan has met strongly opposition, even by the US administration. Nevertheless it has been promoted, bit by bit, as a kind of "second" separation Wall, East of the already existing fence. Construction works are scheduled to commence this year, and are due to ultimately detach A-Dik from the road and lands.
Some 150 residents, joined by international and Israeli activists, joined the protest this week. They marched from the center of the village towards the roadblock, waving flags and chanting slogans. After about twenty minutes of marching, they reached the block, where a unit of Border Police was already awaiting. Two spools of barbed wire were placed on the road before the roadblock. The protesters made an attempt to cut off the wire, and detach it from the stones on which it was places, finally succeeding to move it to the side of the road. The soldiers then proceeded to throw stun grenades and tear-gas canisters into the crowd and arrested an Israeli activist. Tear-gas canisters continued being shot at protesters even as they were retreating, and despite of the fact that not one stone was thrown at the soldiers.
After a short recess, some of the younger residents of the village marched towards the route of the planned Wall, where they found another army unit. Some short clashes then erupted in this area.
The arrestee was taken to the police station in Ariel where he remains in custody and released only Saturday night after court hearing.

Khader Adnan, an imprisoned Palestinian activist held under administrative detention, hasn't eaten since December 17, 2012 to protest "secret evidence" based detentions. Nabi Saleh residents and other Palestinians joined Adnan this Friday in protesting repressive Israeli military justice system. Posters in support of Adnan were held by demonstrators upon leaving the center of the village.
The demonstration started 12:30PM under an heavy fog, which did not stop the Israeli occupation forces from further endangering the lives of demonstrators, shooting untraceable tear gas canisters, sometimes directly at people. The Israeli border police “skunk” truck, spraying foul smelling water, was also fast to launch its assault. After this initial attack, several people placed a rocks-made road block to prevent a deeper Israeli incursion into the village. Others went to the hilltops, overlooking the spring taken by Halamish settlers. Israeli soldiers went up the hills, throwing sound bombs, shooting tear gas and rubber-coated metal bullets directly at people and into the village's houses. Some youths threw stones to ward off this Israeli incursions. Once the soldiers were retreating they shot few live bullets above the heads of civilians.
As is traditionally the case in Nabi Saleh, the demonstration kept going for a few hours. Around 4PM an Israeli military jeep carrying a multiple-barrels cannon shot massive amounts of tear gas that covered a large part of the village. This was also joined by another “round” for the “skunk” truck. Many suffered from gas inhalation and a few were injured from direct hit by tear gas canisters, among them a Turkish cameraman who was evacuated to a hospital with a suspected fracture to his shoulder.

As usual on Fridays the villagers on Ni’lin came out this this friday, to protest against the apartheid wall being built in their community. This week the demonstration was held in solidarity with the political Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan who this Friday was on his 56th day of hungerstriking. Adnan, a representative of the group Islamic Jihad went on an open ended hungerstrike almost two months ago to protest against the Israeli system of administrative detention, a system that makes it possible for Israel to hold Palestinians without charges for six months at a time. At present Adnan is being held in a medical facility where he is forced liquids.
The protestors who gathered by the apartheid wall in Ni’lin this friday was demanding justice for Khader Adnan and wished to call on the attention on the rest of the world to Adnans case. International actions need to be taken instantly if Adnans life is to be saved. Together with international and israeli peace activists joining in solidarity the Palestinian protestors held up posters of Adnan alongside with Palestinian flags.
When the demonstration reached the gate of the apartheid wall they managed to pry it open and therefore tried to reach their land on the other side. The Israeli soldiers however pushed the crowd back with tear gas and sound bombs causing suffocation from tear gas inhalation in many protesters to the point where one of them fainted. Some of the demonstrators managed to reach the electronic fence on the other side of the wall and started cutting it but were met with stern force from the Israeli soldiers and one of them where hurt.
After about 30 minutes of shooting tear gas the soldiers had pushed the crowd back far enough to close the gate again while they continued to shoot tear gas at the crowd from behind the security of the gate. Finally the demonstration dispersed at 3.00pm. The protests will continue until the wall is no more.

Approximately 100 residents of the Qaryout joined the weekly protest against the occupation this week, aiming to plant olive trees on their lands, as an action against confiscation of lands by neighboring settlements. One of main legal mechanisms used by Israel to expropriate Palestinian land is the Ottoman Land Law of 1858, which was in force on the eve of the occupation. According to this law, if privately owned agricultural land is not cultivated for three years it may be declared as “abandoned property" and seized by the state.
Residents and their supporters marched towards the roadblock, which they have managed to open last week, and which currently remains open. As they were proceeding, settlement private security guards approached the demonstration, shooting live ammunition in the air. The protesters continued marching, finally reaching a line of soldiers. After proceeding some more, the march was effectively trapped in between two groups of settlers – one from the front and one from the back, as well as the army. Nonetheless, they managed to plant a number of trees. As demonstrators were heading back towards the village, settlers "accompanied" them from the hilltop and threw stones directly at protesters. As a result, some clashes erupted between the local youth and the settlers. The army intervened by shooting massive amounts of tear-gas canisters at the protesters. Two injuries were reported.
The village of Qaryout is located in the Northern West Bank, near the city of Nablus. It is home for approximately 2500 residents whose lives have become unbearable due to continuous land confiscations, obstruction of movement and settler violence.

Note that the Israeli occupation authorities have finished the plans and maintained the approvals necessary to construct a new apartheid road (bypass road) on Beit Ommar farmers land, the length of this road will be 8km and 80 meters wide, it will annex more than 1200 donums of Beit Ommar and Halhoul agricultural land (one donum = 10002m. This road will serve only the Israeli colonists and army, and will enable them to avoid driving through the Palestinian localities in the area."

Over 10 Israelis and almost 10 internationals joined the weekly demo against Israeli oppression in Bil'in. Due to the drizzle, demonstrators took their cars to the wall, where the shabab was already spread along the south stretch of the fence. The demonstrators marched with Khader Adnan posters. One of them crossed the barbed wire that protects the other barbed wire, ditch and wall behind it, and was immediately shot in his leg with a rubber coated metal bullet. The shabab showered stones at the two soldiers who peered over the wall, protected by another net of wire, who did not respond for a while, other than by taking puctures. Then a big round of gas canisters, creating a clowd of gas the wind blew towards the demonstrators' faces. This and the cold led the demonstrators to call it a day.

Freday at Kufr A-Dik: We Refuse to Become an Enclave
The village of Kufr a-Dik, near Nablus, has recently joined the wave of weekly popular demonstrations taking place across the West Bank. In recent years, the village has slowly become an enclave surrounded by settlements and roadblocks. Now, it is going to be besieged also by the new "Eastern Wall".
The village of Kufr a-Dik refuses to become an isolated enclave: The road connecting the village to the closest highway has been blocked by the army for years. On the other side of this road, two settlements overlook the village's agricultural lands, which have been long confiscated and registered as state lands. On these lands a new settlement is currently being built. The settlement is portrayed as a neighborhood of Aley Zahav, but is located in significant distance from it. The new settlement would take over the remains of the village's agricultural lands, and create territorial continuity between the Jewish settlements.
Settlement expansion is congruent with the route of the Wall planned to be constructed in the area. The approved construction plan, deep inside the West Bank, is part of what has been known as the "Ariel Finger" segment of the Wall. The plan has met strongly opposition, even by the US administration. Nevertheless it has been promoted, bit by bit, as a kind of "second" separation Wall, East of the already existing fence. Construction works are scheduled to commence this year, and are due to ultimately detach A-Dik from the road and lands.
Some 150 residents, joined by international and Israeli activists, joined the protest this week. They marched from the center of the village towards the roadblock, waving flags and chanting slogans. After about twenty minutes of marching, they reached the block, where a unit of Border Police was already awaiting. Two spools of barbed wire were placed on the road before the roadblock. The protesters made an attempt to cut off the wire, and detach it from the stones on which it was places, finally succeeding to move it to the side of the road. The soldiers then proceeded to throw stun grenades and tear-gas canisters into the crowd and arrested an Israeli activist. Tear-gas canisters continued being shot at protesters even as they were retreating, and despite of the fact that not one stone was thrown at the soldiers.
After a short recess, some of the younger residents of the village marched towards the route of the planned Wall, where they found another army unit. Some short clashes then erupted in this area.
The arrestee was taken to the police station in Ariel where he remains in custody and released only Saturday night after court hearing.

Weekly Demonstration in Support of Hunger-Striking Prisoner Khader Adnanfor Khader Adnan, and against the Israeli occupation and settlements on February 10, 2012.
Khader Adnan, an imprisoned Palestinian activist held under administrative detention, hasn't eaten since December 17, 2012 to protest "secret evidence" based detentions. Nabi Saleh residents and other Palestinians joined Adnan this Friday in protesting repressive Israeli military justice system. Posters in support of Adnan were held by demonstrators upon leaving the center of the village.
The demonstration started 12:30PM under an heavy fog, which did not stop the Israeli occupation forces from further endangering the lives of demonstrators, shooting untraceable tear gas canisters, sometimes directly at people. The Israeli border police “skunk” truck, spraying foul smelling water, was also fast to launch its assault. After this initial attack, several people placed a rocks-made road block to prevent a deeper Israeli incursion into the village. Others went to the hilltops, overlooking the spring taken by Halamish settlers. Israeli soldiers went up the hills, throwing sound bombs, shooting tear gas and rubber-coated metal bullets directly at people and into the village's houses. Some youths threw stones to ward off this Israeli incursions. Once the soldiers were retreating they shot few live bullets above the heads of civilians.
As is traditionally the case in Nabi Saleh, the demonstration kept going for a few hours. Around 4PM an Israeli military jeep carrying a multiple-barrels cannon shot massive amounts of tear gas that covered a large part of the village. This was also joined by another “round” for the “skunk” truck. Many suffered from gas inhalation and a few were injured from direct hit by tear gas canisters, among them a Turkish cameraman who was evacuated to a hospital with a suspected fracture to his shoulder.

As usual on Fridays the villagers on Ni’lin came out this this friday, to protest against the apartheid wall being built in their community. This week the demonstration was held in solidarity with the political Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan who this Friday was on his 56th day of hungerstriking. Adnan, a representative of the group Islamic Jihad went on an open ended hungerstrike almost two months ago to protest against the Israeli system of administrative detention, a system that makes it possible for Israel to hold Palestinians without charges for six months at a time. At present Adnan is being held in a medical facility where he is forced liquids.
The protestors who gathered by the apartheid wall in Ni’lin this friday was demanding justice for Khader Adnan and wished to call on the attention on the rest of the world to Adnans case. International actions need to be taken instantly if Adnans life is to be saved. Together with international and israeli peace activists joining in solidarity the Palestinian protestors held up posters of Adnan alongside with Palestinian flags.
When the demonstration reached the gate of the apartheid wall they managed to pry it open and therefore tried to reach their land on the other side. The Israeli soldiers however pushed the crowd back with tear gas and sound bombs causing suffocation from tear gas inhalation in many protesters to the point where one of them fainted. Some of the demonstrators managed to reach the electronic fence on the other side of the wall and started cutting it but were met with stern force from the Israeli soldiers and one of them where hurt.
After about 30 minutes of shooting tear gas the soldiers had pushed the crowd back far enough to close the gate again while they continued to shoot tear gas at the crowd from behind the security of the gate. Finally the demonstration dispersed at 3.00pm. The protests will continue until the wall is no more.

Approximately 100 residents of the Qaryout joined the weekly protest against the occupation this week, aiming to plant olive trees on their lands, as an action against confiscation of lands by neighboring settlements. One of main legal mechanisms used by Israel to expropriate Palestinian land is the Ottoman Land Law of 1858, which was in force on the eve of the occupation. According to this law, if privately owned agricultural land is not cultivated for three years it may be declared as “abandoned property" and seized by the state.
Residents and their supporters marched towards the roadblock, which they have managed to open last week, and which currently remains open. As they were proceeding, settlement private security guards approached the demonstration, shooting live ammunition in the air. The protesters continued marching, finally reaching a line of soldiers. After proceeding some more, the march was effectively trapped in between two groups of settlers – one from the front and one from the back, as well as the army. Nonetheless, they managed to plant a number of trees. As demonstrators were heading back towards the village, settlers "accompanied" them from the hilltop and threw stones directly at protesters. As a result, some clashes erupted between the local youth and the settlers. The army intervened by shooting massive amounts of tear-gas canisters at the protesters. Two injuries were reported.
The village of Qaryout is located in the Northern West Bank, near the city of Nablus. It is home for approximately 2500 residents whose lives have become unbearable due to continuous land confiscations, obstruction of movement and settler violence.

The last three days saw 9 demonstrations supported by AATW. Beit Ommar marked the Anniversary of Yousef Ikhlayl’s Murder 31 JANUARY 2011. In Bil'in the organizers are preparing for the 7th anniversary of their continuous struggle. In Maasara the demonstrations continues into their 5th year. Nabi Saleh was invaded by large numbers of army and border police. They shot tear gas and rubber bullets for hours. Ni'lin held a large and spirited demonstration, forced open the large meta gate in the wall and got past the tall concrete wall. Kufer al-Dik and Kufer Qaddum in the Salfit and Nablus area continue to have very large numbers of people from the villages. The army has been arresting many young men and youths during the last months but the demonstrations continue. In Qaryout, a village of 3800 people, about 400 men marched out to the roadblock which prevents their access to the main road. In al Walaje the demonstrators marched down to the site of construction of the wall that will surround their village.

Tuesday demonstration, Jan. 31, 2012Four Injured as Beit Ommar Marks Anniversary of Yousef Ikhlayl’s Murder 31 JANUARY 2012 On Tuesday, January 31st, 2012, Beit Ommar villagers demonstrated near Route 60 at the entrance of the village to commemorate the one year anniversary of the murder of Yousef Ikhlayl, a 17-year-old Beit Ommar youth who was murdered by Israeli settlers on January 28th, 2011. The demonstration was organized by the Popular Committee in Beit Ommar and was supported by the Palestine Solidarity Project, the Popular Committee in Yatta, and several other Palestinian organizations. As the demonstrators approached Route 60 at the entrance of the village, dozens of Israeli soldiers blocked their path and attacked the gathering with tear gas, sound bombs, and beatings. Israeli Forces used wooden clubs to strike at activists, and four demonstrators were injured. Yousef Abu Maria had his nose broken, Emad Abu Hashem was hit in the forehead with a club, Ahmad Abu Hashem was hit in the head with a soldier’s rifle butt, and Jamil Shuhada, an Executive Committee member for the PLO, was beaten with clubs and rifle butts. The demonstrators remembered Yousef’s murder with the following demands: 1. Try the murderers of Yousef Ikhlayl (the settlers came from Bat Ayn, one of five Israeli settlements built on land stolen from Beit Ommar villagers. To date, no settler has been arrested, let alone investigated, for Yousef’s murder.) 2. Dismantle the Bay Ayn settlement 3. Open the closed military roads around Beit Ommar which prevent farmers from reaching and cultivating their lands. 4. Free all Palestinian political prisoners. 5. Two young men from the village were arrested and remain in custody. Some hundred protesters joined the weekly protest against the occupation and settlement expansion in Kufr A-Dik this week. Protesters marched from the center of the village towards the lands confiscated to build a new settlement. When the march was blocked by a line of soldiers on the main road, the demonstrators opted to sit peacefully on the road, and chanted slogans. After about an hour, the march headed back towards the village, and at this point some clashed erupted between the army and the local youth. Soldiers who were hiding in the olive groves nearby then invaded the crowed and arrested two young residents. The two remain in custody.
The village Kufr A-Dik is situated in Salfit area, nearby Bruqin, between the settlements Bruchin, Alay Zahav and Pedu'el. A new settlement is now being planned to take its place on the village's remaining agricultural lands: Leshem, which is supposed to inhibit 400 Jewish families. Burqin and Kufr A-Dik are situated in Areas B and C as stipulated by the Oslo Agreement. In recent months, the two villages have been suffering from ongoing assaults by settlers who destroy crops and burn olive trees as part of the “Price Tag Campaign.” Villagers also report that settlers destroyed a newly bought piece of farm machinery about two weeks ago. During this attack they also burned a car and unsuccessfully firebombed the local mosque, leaving threatening graffiti that they will be back. In addition, the army has been demolishing water wells and houses in the two villages, and issuing land confiscation orders – the last of them issued last week.
Weekly demonstrations in the village began at the end of 2011.The Israeli army's extreme reaction to these unarmed protests includes incursions into the village, and the excessive use of tear-gas projectiles, rubber coated bullets and in several cases also live ammunition. MEDIAA French citizen was seriously wounded on Friday after being hit by a gas grenade in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, Palestinian sources reported. According to the reports, the grenade was fired at a demonstration by IDF forces. The French woman was taken to the hospital.Last December, a Palestinian protester sustained head injuries after being hit by a tear gas grenade that was fired at close range by an Israeli soldier from inside a patrol jeep. The protester, Mustafa Tamimi, 28, died from his wounds the next day.

Activists are reporting an Israeli photographer was hit in his wrist with a tear-gas projectile shot at demonstrators by Israeli military in Kufr Qaddaum. "The weekly protest in Kadum started with at least 100 participants, most of them were Palestinian males, few internationals and 5 Israelis. We walked on the road which leads up to the settlement "Kdumim" as part of a very organized march, On the road there was a wire fence so half on the protesters were standing there and sing and the other half, including many kids, stayed about 50 meters away on the road. After few minutes the IOF soldiers that were standing 25 meters down the road started to shoot Tremendous amount of Tear gas canisters directly to the crowd – I couldn't even count it but have never seen this amount of gas together. More than five-hundred residents of the village of Qaryout joined a protest march against the occupation and managed to dismantle a roadblock that has been blocking their access to the main road leading to Nablus.The village of Qaryout is located in the Northern West Bank, near the city of Nablus. Nabi Saleh was invaded by large numbers of army and border police. They shot tear gas and rubber bullets for hours. Ni'lin held a large and spirited demonstration, forced open the large meta gate in the wall and got past the tall concrete wall. Kufer al-Dik and Kufer Qaddum in the Salfit and Nablus area continue to have very large numbers of people from the villages. The army has been arresting many young men and youths during the last months but the demonstrations continue. In Qaryout, a village of 3800 people, about 400 men marched out to the roadblock which prevents their access to the main road. In al Walaje the demonstrators marched down to the site of construction of the wall that will surround their village.

Tuesday demonstration, Jan. 31, 2012Four Injured as Beit Ommar Marks Anniversary of Yousef Ikhlayl’s Murder 31 JANUARY 2012 On Tuesday, January 31st, 2012, Beit Ommar villagers demonstrated near Route 60 at the entrance of the village to commemorate the one year anniversary of the murder of Yousef Ikhlayl, a 17-year-old Beit Ommar youth who was murdered by Israeli settlers on January 28th, 2011. The demonstration was organized by the Popular Committee in Beit Ommar and was supported by the Palestine Solidarity Project, the Popular Committee in Yatta, and several other Palestinian organizations. As the demonstrators approached Route 60 at the entrance of the village, dozens of Israeli soldiers blocked their path and attacked the gathering with tear gas, sound bombs, and beatings. Israeli Forces used wooden clubs to strike at activists, and four demonstrators were injured. Yousef Abu Maria had his nose broken, Emad Abu Hashem was hit in the forehead with a club, Ahmad Abu Hashem was hit in the head with a soldier’s rifle butt, and Jamil Shuhada, an Executive Committee member for the PLO, was beaten with clubs and rifle butts. The demonstrators remembered Yousef’s murder with the following demands: 1. Try the murderers of Yousef Ikhlayl (the settlers came from Bat Ayn, one of five Israeli settlements built on land stolen from Beit Ommar villagers. To date, no settler has been arrested, let alone investigated, for Yousef’s murder.) 2. Dismantle the Bay Ayn settlement 3. Open the closed military roads around Beit Ommar which prevent farmers from reaching and cultivating their lands. 4. Free all Palestinian political prisoners. 5. Dozens of demonstrators were Wounded cases of suffocation by poison gas in the weekly march which organized by the Popular Committee Against the Wall and settlements in Bil'in, which comes on the occasion of the hunger strike of the prisoner, Al Sheikh Khader Adnan for 49 days, until now, and supporting for all Palestinian prisoners, The march was attended by dozens of Palestinians , international and Israeli peace activists. The march began after Friday prayers from the center of the village, and headed to the land that was liberated recently, Participants raised Palestinian flags and banners with images of Palestinian prisoners. They chanted patriotic slogans calling for the departure of the occupation, destruction of the Apartheid wall, freedom and rights for Palestinian prisoners. Upon the arrival to Abu Lemon protected area, which adjacent to the wall, some of the participants were able to cut and remove some of the barbed wire , burned tires beside the apartheid wall, one of them climbed the wall and raised Palestinian flag on the concrete wall, while dozens of settlers and Israeli soldiers we watching , then the soldiers Who were behind the concrete wall shot rubber bullets , stun grenades, dense tear gas and skunk water towards the participants, which led to the injury of dozens of cases of suffocation, all of them were treated in the field by ambulance crews. Reports on about 300 people in Kafr Al-deek. The demonstration there is about to start. Be careful everyone!Kufr A-Dik residents protest against a new settlement constructed on their lands. Two young men from the village were arrested and remain in custody. Some hundred protesters joined the weekly protest against the occupation and settlement expansion in Kufr A-Dik this week. Protesters marched from the center of the village towards the lands confiscated to build a new settlement. When the march was blocked by a line of soldiers on the main road, the demonstrators opted to sit peacefully on the road, and chanted slogans. After about an hour, the march headed back towards the village, and at this point some clashed erupted between the army and the local youth. Soldiers who were hiding in the olive groves nearby then invaded the crowed and arrested two young residents. The two remain in custody.
The village Kufr A-Dik is situated in Salfit area, nearby Bruqin, between the settlements Bruchin, Alay Zahav and Pedu'el. A new settlement is now being planned to take its place on the village's remaining agricultural lands: Leshem, which is supposed to inhibit 400 Jewish families. Burqin and Kufr A-Dik are situated in Areas B and C as stipulated by the Oslo Agreement. In recent months, the two villages have been suffering from ongoing assaults by settlers who destroy crops and burn olive trees as part of the “Price Tag Campaign.” Villagers also report that settlers destroyed a newly bought piece of farm machinery about two weeks ago. During this attack they also burned a car and unsuccessfully firebombed the local mosque, leaving threatening graffiti that they will be back. In addition, the army has been demolishing water wells and houses in the two villages, and issuing land confiscation orders – the last of them issued last week.
Weekly demonstrations in the village began at the end of 2011.The Israeli army's extreme reaction to these unarmed protests includes incursions into the village, and the excessive use of tear-gas projectiles, rubber coated bullets and in several cases also live ammunition. MEDIAA French citizen was seriously wounded on Friday after being hit by a gas grenade in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh, Palestinian sources reported. According to the reports, the grenade was fired at a demonstration by IDF forces. The French woman was taken to the hospital.Last December, a Palestinian protester sustained head injuries after being hit by a tear gas grenade that was fired at close range by an Israeli soldier from inside a patrol jeep. The protester, Mustafa Tamimi, 28, died from his wounds the next day.
After midnight the settlers of the near by colonial settlement Halamish, try to attacked Nabi Saleh and burn the mosque but the shabab were waiting for them and force them to go back from where they come. Protest against the Jewish settlement of Qadomem, near the West Bank City of Nablus. Activists are reporting an Israeli photographer was hit in his wrist with a tear-gas projectile shot at demonstrators by Israeli military in Kufr Qaddaum. "The weekly protest in Kadum started with at least 100 participants, most of them were Palestinian males, few internationals and 5 Israelis. We walked on the road which leads up to the settlement "Kdumim" as part of a very organized march, On the road there was a wire fence so half on the protesters were standing there and sing and the other half, including many kids, stayed about 50 meters away on the road. After few minutes the IOF soldiers that were standing 25 meters down the road started to shoot Tremendous amount of Tear gas canisters directly to the crowd – I couldn't even count it but have never seen this amount of gas together. One of the Israelis were injured on his hand from a gas canister. The IOF also use sound bombs and started to come closer on the road. Meanwhile the army entered the village and covered the whole area with tear gas, the shabab started throwing stones and we could hear also live firing in the village. More than five-hundred residents of the village of Qaryout joined a protest march against the occupation and managed to dismantle a roadblock that has been blocking their access to the main road leading to Nablus.The village of Qaryout is located in the Northern West Bank, near the city of Nablus. It is home for approximately 2500 residents whose lives have become unbearable due to continuous land confiscations, obstruction of movement and settler violence. This week, some five hundred residents joined a large protest against the occupation and settlements. They marched from the center of the village along the path leading to the military roadblock that has been blocking the path to the nearby city of Nablus (road number 60). Residents planted olive trees and, in collective force, worked to dismantle the roadblock. Despite the large military battalions based in the area, the action proceeded without any clashes and ended with considerable success, as the roadblock was finally removed. However, shortly after the protest ended, a military bulldozer was seen in site, supposedly restoring the checkpoint. The local popular committee is determent to maintain protests until the blocking is permanently removed.
