The war is over... but not for the victims in Gaza. Also not over for the people arrested in Israel (mostly Palestinian citizens) who are on bail, waiting for the call to appear in courts for bogus accusations. Fund rising all over the world is done for the covering of lawyers fees and bails for the Anarchists Against the Wall activists and our Palestinian partners in the joint demonstrations and actions. "Yesterday [Friday] Ben got arrested yesterday in Jaayus. It was a bit before the demonstration, when the army was invading a house in the village.
As far as I know they are accusing him of assault.
He will be brought to trial today (Saturday), probably in the evening."
Saturday late afternoon, comrades of the AAtW went after a group meeting in a solidarity mission to the court where he appeared before a judge. In spite of police prosecutor demands, he was released, as usual, on bail after one day in prison.

The village of Bilin has long ago become a worldwide symbol of popular struggle against occupation, land theft and racial segregation. Next Friday Feb 20 it will mark four years of continuous popular struggle.
For four years the people of Bilin have been courageously resisting the expansion of settlements on their lands. They refuse to surrender in spite of violent repression which resulted in hundreds of injuries and arrests.
For four years we have been together in Bilin. Palestinians Israelis and internationals. Together we say no to Apartheid, No to occupation and no to the wall.
Next Friday we will demonstrate in Bilin against the wall and for a common future. We hope that many of the thousands of Israelis who took part in the struggle will attend.

Palestine-Israel, 73 years, 60 years, 40 years... and 4 years of joint actions in Bil'in, and the struggle continue
It is about 73 years since the first Palestinian uprising of 1936-9 against the plot to allocate the two sides of the Jordan for the Zionist project. It is already 60 years since 75% of the Palestinian lands west of the Jordan were "allocated" to the Israeli state. It is around 41 years after the 1967 war in which Israel conquered the remaining 25% of Palestine... but the tide seems to change. On the end of the fourth year of the joined struggle in Bil'in against the separation fence - which was supposed to ensure the robbery of at least half of the 25% taken in 1967, it seems the Israelian Zionists start to accept that they will never take all Palestine for themselves. ... And the joint struggle in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Um Salmuna continue.

The Friday demonstrations in Um Salmuna are relatively very quite. The participants are few tens of activists from the village and the region, internationals, and contingent of the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall. Usually, they march from the village till they arrive at the entrance from the high way. There they encounter a spool of barbed wire the Israeli state force put in advance to prevent their approach to the high way and stop.
The most belligerent action happen when children play with the barbed wire and the soldiers shout on them to stop. A new officer arrived this Friday and anounced that as punishment to for the touching of the barbed wire, the next week it will be posited 200 meter into the village. After that, each time the barbed wire spool will be touched, it will be moved the next week another 200 meters towards the center of the village. A border gendarme officer joined this and said: "I could not care less if each of you will demonstrate at your houses."
The state forces tried but failed to detain a member of the village popular comity and a member of the AAtW contingent, but their commander warned that in the future more serious arrests will be carried.

Palestine-Israel, Just another week of AAtW struggle against the separation fence and occupation
Wednesday we participated in the demonstration against the separation fence in Ni'ilon and visited there the Holocaust exhibition http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-3662608,00.html in the municipality building. On Friday we participated in the usual demonstrations against the separation fence in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Um Salmuna. In Bil'in we had a reinforcement support from the leftist Palestinian Front of struggle. We also had a second wave headed by three local women that brought us up to the electronic fence. In Um Salmuna the local comity dared to lead the demonstration to the local highway - going around the unprepared state force road block. A high ranking commander detained a member of the village comity and the I.D.s of participants confiscated. However, after a 10 minute stay, the demonstration declared finished and both the detainee and I.D.s were released.
On Saturday, January 31st 2009, at 15:00, we will hold a protest event in Gan Hashnaim (Yefet st. corner of Dr. Erlich), with projections of testimonies from Gaza, art installations and performances.

As it happen often the last few weeks, when two demonstrators hung flags on the gate to the route of the separation fence, the Israeli state force showered us with tear gas. After regrouping, three Palestinian women marched towards the gate and entered the route and even shake the electronic fence, while shouting on the state force. The state force shamed by the women refrained for few minutes from resuming shooting, and others of us joined the women.
After a wile the state force started to shower us again with tear gas and gradually forcing us to retreat to the village.

Every Friday protest actions happen in the Palestinian village Ni'ilin with its 5,000 inhabitants, against the separation fence, that cut between the village and its fields.
The protest activities initiate confrontations between the villagers and the security forces, that already cost a high price of life of villagers, serious injuries on both sides and destruction. Naturally, such violence rise a serious ethical question. We "consume" every week contradicted reports of the villagers and of the security forces, where each side blame the other side for the responsibility to the tragedy.
Last Friday, I decided to enter the village without prejudice to witness with my own eyes what happens, without biased reports. May be what I have seen is only one piece of a more complex picture I failed to decipher its full meaning, but even this piece rise in me a serious worry.
Ni'ilin is a picturesque village adjacent to the hills scene north of Modi'in. Most of its lands were expropriated after the Six Days war [1967] for "security reasons" and were built on a string of settlements, among them Modi'in Illit, Hashmonaim, Kiriat Sefer, and Nili. The security fence will bite wide area from the small remaining area - though the High Court of Justice, the less cruel for the villages from the alternatives the security forces brought before it. However, it is hard for the villagers to accept this alternative that will result the loss of means of livelihood for many families and intensify the feeling of economic and emotional strangulation forced on them from the beginning of the occupation.
Friday, 10:00 in the morning, the village seems to be calm and serene. Merchant stand in front of their meager shops, people are conversing in the small alleys and small herds of sheep and goats are lead by teenagers to the near by pasture lands.
Gradually, started a converging of about 200 people on a high hill facing the far away separation fence that separate between the village on one side and Modi'in Illit and Hashmonaim on the other.
Most of the people are from the village including women and children. I counted about a dozen of participants from out of the village, who express support to the struggle against the separation fence. Already at that time, jeeps of the border gendarmes are seen among the olive trees, about a kilometer or two from the converging people.
After a while, the people are forming a procession for the march. The soldiers and the policemen are spread out near by. Five minutes later, with no sign of violence from the side of the converging people - even before the starting of the march towards the far away fence, the state force started to spray the whole region with tear gas.
The youth start to throw stones, but only for a short period, as the teargas do its job. It is impossible to stay within the cloud of tear gas. The gas blind the eyes and choke your breath.
The people, and me too, escape into the houses. The people in the house that took me in shut all the doors and windows so it will not be flooded by the gas. The security forces continue their bold and ordered march into the village and invade its central square. From there, they continue to shoot tear gas into the houses. All the village houses are wrapped by the gas. The house I hide in is wrapped by gas from outside but significant amount penetrate in due to incomplete sealing of the doors and windows.
Me and my courteous hosts, I was not acquainted before, shed tears like the Mississippi... but as we were healthy we got over eventually with no harm. I am less sure about the fate of babies, old folk, and people with problematic respiration system.
At that stage I assumed that the Friday program was fulfilled and I may resume business as usual. However, the security forces thought otherwise. The shooting continued and continued. All the villagers were hiding at their homes. The village is covered with a disgusting cloud tear gas. The time pass, one and a half, two, two and a half, three... and the shooting continues. I know what happened afterwards only from rumors as my host that worried about me found a way to smuggle me out of the village to the near by high way using side way that bypass the shooting area.
May be some readers will doubt the authenticity of the report, or that will say that it is all in the eyes of the one who look at it.... But, the ethical question presented here is important. Every one of us must equip himself with a real personal narrative that will shade light on his road. There is only one ethical way to do that: sacrifice the pleasures of one Friday and come for direct experience in the village. It worth the sacrifice. The village is friendly to its guests, the view is wonderful, at least in the minutes of grace you can look at it with tear-less eyes.

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle will not end in the near future - Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Jayyous not lettered by state harassment.
During the week we had less activities than during the war week. Wednesday was another demo in the Ni'ilin chain of struggle. State force teams chased demonstrators and stone throwing youngsters up to the center of the village firing lot of tear gas canisters and bullets (rubbed and not rubbed with rubber). Friday were the usual demonstrations against the separation fence in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Jayyous. Their new policy included also shooting live ammunition of 0.22 inch towards legs of demonstrations. In Bil'in one of the AAtW activists responded to direct shooting of tear gas canister to the head of a villager youth near him, with a scandal to the state force. The high commander threated him with arrest but as he insisted, the soldiers retreated - afraid from formal investigation of violation of regulations. Saturday, we had a refusnic action and vigil in Jafa.

Israel-Palestine, The struggles the Anarchists Against the Wall participated in this week.
During the week activists participated daily in demonstrations and vigils against the war in Gaza all over the state. Included were the daily early morning vigils near the military airport of Tel Aviv. We distributed thousands of photographs of Gazan children in main cities. We joined children and women demonstrations in Bil'in and Ni'ilin. Another vigil was at the entrance of the army recruiting center the day another comrade was resisting service. and of course the regular Friday demonstrations against the separation fence (and the war in Gaza) at Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Jayyous, and Um Salmuna. The state forces continue with the new measure of shooting live ammunition of 0.22 (Inch) in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Jayyous. Saturday evening we participated in a red and black block at the big weekly demonstration of the coalition against the war in Gaza.

Maya Yekhieli-Wind, one of the signers of the shministim letter will arrive this coming Wednesday to the army base of Tel Hashomer and declare her refusal to serve in an occupying army, an army that has been bombarding and killing dozens of people a day for the last two weeks.
Maya will be joined by CO Raz Bar David-Veron who is expected to be sentenced for the fifth time for her refusal to serve in an occupying army.
Now more than ever we must show that there are Israelis that refuse to take part in the atrocities that are done in our name.
On Wednesday (14/1) at 9 AM at Tel Hashomer army base, we will join Maya and Raz in support of their just refusal.

The residents of Bil'in today gathered after the Friday prayer in an act of solidarity with the people of Gaza. They were joined by international activists and the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall, all opposing the war on Gaza. The protesters carried Palestinian, Venezuelan, and Bolivian flags, in a show of support for the two South American countries who, this week, cut diplomatic ties with Israel due to the war on Gaza.
The demonstration was symbolically silent, as the protesters wore the UN, EU, and the Arab League flags on their chests and carried shoes bearing Israeli and American flags in their mouths, to symbolize the power the two countries have to gag that rest of the world. Other demonstrators wearing the three flags covered their mouths with tape to show the world's silence presented by the UN, EU and the Arab League against the Israeli massacres in Gaza.

Supporting Israeli conscientious objectors Maya Yechieli-Wind and Raz Bar David-Veron
Maya Yekhieli-Wind, one of the signers of the shministim letter will arrive this coming Wednesday to the army base of Tel Hashomer and declare her refusal to serve in an occupying army, an army that has been bombarding and killing dozens of people a day for the last two weeks.
Maya will be joined by CO Raz Bar David-Veron who is expected to be sentenced for the fifth time for her refusal to serve in an occupying army.
Now more than ever we must show that there are Israelis that refuse to take part in the atrocities that are done in our name.

The residents of Bil'in today gathered after the Friday prayer in an act of solidarity with the people of Gaza. They were joined by international activists and the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall, all opposing the war on Gaza. The protesters carried Palestinian, Venezuelan, and Bolivian flags, in a show of support for the two South American countries who, this week, cut diplomatic ties with Israel due to the war on Gaza.
The demonstration was symbolically silent, as the protesters wore the UN, EU, and the Arab League flags on their chests and carried shoes bearing Israeli and American flags in their mouths, to symbolize the power the two countries have to gag that rest of the world. Other demonstrators wearing the three flags covered their mouths with tape to show the world's silence presented by the UN, EU and the Arab League against the Israeli massacres in Gaza.

Israel-Palestine, AAtW activists continue participating in the joint struggle in spite increase in state suppression.
Escalation of our activity challenged the "supper democracy" for Israeli Jews. During the week we were in solidarity with comrades: "the police are going to ask for the extension of the 18 arrests [the previous Friday at the military air port] until the end of the proceedings" (But the judge refused). Comrades participated in demonstrations against the war in gaze: Jafa Monday & Saturday, Haifa Tuesday, Tel Aviv Wednesday-Thursday, Baka Al Garbiah Friday. Wednesday, a comrade arrested during the day accused of EdBusting in Tel Aviv. We did not have enough resources to join our partners in Ni'lin (Wednesday kids demo) and Bil'in (Thursday women demonstration). Friday we participated as usual in the Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Um Salmuna and Jayyous demos against the separation fence. During the week, radio and TV programs discussed our treacherous activities in time of war.

Those taking part in demonstrations in Jaffa, Sakhnin and Shfaram were brought in for "clarification talks" even in cases when the demonstrations had been authorized.
The Shin Bet approved the questioning and explained that, "In recent days a number of violent incidents, with nationalist character, have taken place in Israel. These incidents included arson, stone-throwing and firebombs. As a result of these incidents, arrests were made."
In parallel, charges were brought in the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court against left-wing activists who blocked the entrance to the Sde Dov airbase on Friday, in protest of Operation Cast Lead. The activists were charged with unlawful entry into a military area, participation in a forbidden gathering and interfering with a police officer as he tried to carry out his duty. The judge rejected the prosecution's request to keep the defendants in custody until the end of the legal proceedings, something normally done when the court believes that releasing the suspects poses a threat to the public....."

Saturday, in response to Gaza Bombings in Manhattan just hours after our demo in Tel Aviv, there
was one in New York. "A demonstration today in front of the Israeli consulate ---- When news from
the destruction of Gaza- which has claimed more than 200 (now already more than 300) lives- reached
New York City, communities jumped into action. ---- Not wanting to waste time, an assorted group of
Israeli activists came together that afternoon to hold signs in front of the consulate. Most of
them knew each other from past demonstrations, but they were never united under one banner. They
were members of Breaking the Silence, Anarchists Against the Wall, and Combatants for Peace back
home.
Today, the day one demonstrator called "the bloodiest day of the Intifada", the Israelis
found themselves without an organization for immediate response. They called their friends from
home and staged a small traffic rally in Manhattan.
Sunday, the motley group will join forces with Al-Awda- a Palestinian organization with a base in
New York- among others, to march from Rockefeller Center to the consulate.
Hopefully, the size of the group will increase (today saw roughly twenty demonstrators), but the
civility of the police will remain. The protesters were put in a "little cage" (policeman's words),
but there was no threat of arrest.
Waving signs in Hebrew and English and one-fiftieth the size of some demonstrations in Israel,
these young activists have maintained their passion for justice and brought it with them to New York".
SUNDAY
The AAtW comrades arrested Saturday while trying to block the road in front of the war ministry during the big demonstration of the radical left were released with a bond equal 100.- ERO and two weeks restricting from approaching the site of the demo. (Still lenient "democracy for Jews"). However when few of us joined demonstrations of our Palestinian partners in Ni'ilin there was another level of suppression. In spite of the regulations not to use live ammunition when Israelis join Palestinians demonstration, such ammunition was used in Ni'ilin - four Palestinians were hit two of them fatally.

Following is a rough translation of report on the murder in Ni'ilin in the Sunday 26-12-08 shooting, written for the Human rights Btselem by an AAtW member:
"I wrote down the details of what happened for Btselem and thought that
people on the list may be interested too... Hebrew only, sorry.
On Sunday, the 28/12/08 there was in Ni'ilin a demonstration in protest of the massacre in Gaza.
Very fast the demonstration escalated into confrontations in few locations between the army &
gendarmes that shoot bullets covered with rubber & tear gas and villagers that threw stones on the
state force.
The biggest focus of confrontation was in the main entrance to the village, near the intersection
between road 446 and road 4460, and there were concentrated lot of gendarmes. A second focus was a
bit to the south-west of the 4460 in an olive plantation adjacent to the village houses. The most
marginal building - a poultry, is already within the olive plantation and around it were
confrontations. The soldiers were on one side of the poultry and the demonstrators - about 15-30
young villagers on the other side.
I stood near the second focus of confrontation, about 30-40 meters from the stone throwers.
For a long while the state force used tear gas and rubber coated bullets. [which are much less
lethal - I.S] At a certain moment, the noise of shooting changed into that of non automatic live
ammunition (based on my experience). I approached to the stone throwing people to warn them that
the state force started to use live ammunition.
At that moment, the demonstrators stood behind a high pile of stones adjacent to the poultry and
about 4-5 soldiers who were about 20 meter from them, were walking freely to and fro behind a low
field wall ("terasa").
It was clear from their behavior they did not perceive any danger to their life*. The shooting of
live ammunition (not upward in the air) continued for few minutes.
Because of the danger, after warning few of the youth there of the danger I started to retreat
backwards looking all the time towards the confrontation. After about 5 meters of retreat one of
the demonstrators was hit in his leg. I run to him and was the second to reach him. We carried him
about 15 meters backwards, towards a team of para-medics who were there. About 30 seconds or less
passed and we heard shouts about another casualty. I run back but half way I saw four people
carrying a limp body - a person that was shut at his back and seemed dead. Later I learned it was
Arafat Khauagha.
I looked at the location where the people were shot and I have seen another one shot at and
collapsing. The people around him carried him and cried that he was shot at his head. Later I
learned that his name is Muhamad Khawaga.
The fire continued. The head of the injured was covered with blood that was flowing in a big
stream. The people who were carrying him were covered with his blood.
I run towards Arafat Khawaga and replaced one of these who carried him. I held his left shoulder
and his head so it will not be shaken. My hand that held his shoulder and back was covered with his
blood. Then, one of the youth replaced me. There was no ambulance at that place at the moment and
he was evacuated in a car of one of the villagers. The ambulance arrived a minute later and
evacuated the other three injured ones to the Ramallah hospital.
I will stress again that the use of live ammunition was not of short duration and was not because
of any distress of the soldiers that could have been interpreted as threatening their live[**].
The duration of that shooting was along few minutes in which the soldiers were behind a cover with
out retreating. In addition, a short distance from them there was a much bigger force - tens of
border guard gendarmes, that had not come "to save them" - proving that no danger was felt there.
In addition, Araphat Khawaga was shot at his back, meaning his back was towards the soldiers while
he was shot at - hardly any threat to them at all.

In the evening, few hundreds people participated in a vigil in the center of Tel Aviv, with a small
counter demonstration of the nationalists.
An enlarged meeting of AAtW happened after the end of the vigil and various activities - including
joining these of the wider radical left.
MONDAY
Comrades traveled to Ni'ilin to participate in the funeral of Arafat Khawagah who was shot at his
back with live ammunition during the Saturday demo in solidarity with Gaza.
After learning about meetings of organization about future protests against the assault on Gaza the
state declared the region along the north of Gaza strip as in status of emergency rule so they it
will be legal for them to prevent us from demonstrate and/or do direct actions there.
Rumors say it is really intended to block the media from exposing their military maneuvers to the
public...
Some comrades participated in the solidarity with Aza demonstration in the Jafa suburb of Tel Aviv
- where Palestinians who were not transfered 1948 are concentrated.

About 40 of us converged afternoon at the city municipality square. A police force of about 20 was

trusted. From there we started our critical mass against the war in Gaza along the main boulevard and

Early in the morning activists of the AAtW out smart the police, shortly blocked the road and
staged a street theater of a "die in" at the entrance to the military air port of Tel Aviv - where
the pilots and other high ranking are flayed daily to the far bases in the south and north for the
daily war crimes. 18 comrades were arrested and the shamed police avenged by asking the court judge
for three days jail time for them being dangerous and for "investigation". The judge order their

About 20 activists from 'Anarchists Against the Wall' arrived today, Friday morning, at 6am, to the
air force base Sde Dov, and blocked the entrance to the base. The activists lay on the road and
pretended to be dead, dressed in white and covered in red paint, representing the large amount of
blood on Gaza's streets. After about 10 minutes all of the activists to joined the die-in were
arrested.
Ayala, one of the activists: "We pretended to be dead as an installation that is meant to
illustrate to the IDF's pilots the results of their actions in Gaza. A pilot who is at a hight of
thousands of feet, who aims toward a target, and presses a button, can ignore, forget or even not
grasp that in this very instant he killed innocent people. We came here to remind this.*
Since the beginning of this war, the air force has bombed Gaza 300 times. In these bombings more
than 400 Palestinians have been killed, hundreds of civilians. It is impossible to be against the
bombing of civilians in Sderot without being against massive killing of citizens in Gaza.
International Laws of War obligate as much avoidance as possible from harming civilians. The
Israeli air force's bombings on heavily populated Gaza cannot but harm civilians and are a war
crime. Every pilot that bombs Gaza bombs a civilian population and he is a war criminal.

Because of too many arrested early in the morning we participated in joint demonstrations against
the separation fence only in Jayyous - where lot of tear gas was used, and in Bil'in - which was
again an experimental field for "low lethal means for crowd control". This Friday In Bil'in, the
state force did another experiment with the noise machine and new bullets. In the experiment of the
noise machine, it replaced at the beginning most of the state repression. For long time they did
not use tear gas or shooting with rubber coated bullets in spite of intense barrage of stones thrown
by the kids. It seems the state force main task - besides the experiment, was to prevent the
recurring of the cutting of the separation fence as done on the Sunday demonstration against the war

ammunition (based on my experience). I approached to the stone throwing people to warn them that
the state force started to use live ammunition.
At that moment, the demonstrators stood behind a high pile of stones adjacent to the poultry and
about 4-5 soldiers who were about 20 meter from them, were walking freely to and fro behind a low
field wall ("terasa").
It was clear from their behavior they did not perceive any danger to their life*. The shooting of
live ammunition (not upward in the air) continued for few minutes.
Because of the danger, after warning few of the youth there of the danger I started to retreat
backwards looking all the time towards the confrontation. After about 5 meters of retreat one of
the demonstrators was hit in his leg. I run to him and was the second to reach him. We carried him
about 15 meters backwards, towards a team of para-medics who were there. About 30 seconds or less
passed and we heard shouts about another casualty. I run back but half way I saw four people
carrying a limp body - a person that was shut at his back and seemed dead. Later I learned it was
Arafat Khauagha.
I looked at the location where the people were shot and I have seen another one shot at and
collapsing. The people around him carried him and cried that he was shot at his head. Later I
learned that his name is Muhamad Khawaga.
The fire continued. The head of the injured was covered with blood that was flowing in a big
stream. The people who were carrying him were covered with his blood.
I run towards Arafat Khawaga and replaced one of these who carried him. I held his left shoulder
and his head so it will not be shaken. My hand that held his shoulder and back was covered with his
blood. Then, one of the youth replaced me. There was no ambulance at that place at the moment and
he was evacuated in a car of one of the villagers. The ambulance arrived a minute later and
evacuated the other three injured ones to the Ramallah hospital.
I will stress again that the use of live ammunition was not of short duration and was not because
of any distress of the soldiers that could have been interpreted as threatening their live[**].
The duration of that shooting was along few minutes in which the soldiers were behind a cover with
out retreating. In addition, a short distance from them there was a much bigger force - tens of
border guard gendarmes, that had not come "to save them" - proving that no danger was felt there.
In addition, Araphat Khawaga was shot at his back, meaning his back was towards the soldiers while
he was shot at - hardly any threat to them at all.

In the evening, few hundreds people participated in a vigil in the center of Tel Aviv, with a small
counter demonstration of the nationalists.
An enlarged meeting of AAtW happened after the end of the vigil and various activities - including
joining these of the wider radical left.
MONDAY
Comrades traveled to Ni'ilin to participate in the funeral of Arafat Khawagah who was shot at his
back with live ammunition during the Saturday demo in solidarity with Gaza.
After learning about meetings of organization about future protests against the assault on Gaza the
state declared the region along the north of Gaza strip as in status of emergency rule so they it
will be legal for them to prevent us from demonstrate and/or do direct actions there.
Rumors say it is really intended to block the media from exposing their military maneuvers to the
public...
Some comrades participated in the solidarity with Aza demonstration in the Jafa suburb of Tel Aviv
- where Palestinians who were not transfered 1948 are concentrated.

1st we will take our dissent to the streets of Tel Aviv with a Critical Mass Against the Occupation

About 40 of us converged afternoon at the city municipality square. A police force of about 20 was
waiting for us, making it clear by loudspeaker that any organized activity - even driving along the
bicycles spathes will result with arrest and damage to the bicycles.
We decided to re-converge in another place - informed to most of the participants that could be
trusted. From there we started our critical mass against the war in Gaza along the main boulevard and
then along the main road.

FRIDAY
Early in the morning activists of the AAtW out smart the police, shortly blocked the road and
staged a street theater of a "die in" at the entrance to the military air port of Tel Aviv - where
the pilots and other high ranking are flayed daily to the far bases in the south and north for the
daily war crimes. 18 comrades were arrested and the shamed police avenged by asking the court judge
for three days jail time for them being dangerous and for "investigation". The judge order their

*18 activists from 'Anarchists Against the Wall" were arrested this morning, as they blocked the
entrance to the Sde Dov air force base.*

About 20 activists from 'Anarchists Against the Wall' arrived today, Friday morning, at 6am, to the
air force base Sde Dov, and blocked the entrance to the base. The activists lay on the road and
pretended to be dead, dressed in white and covered in red paint, representing the large amount of
blood on Gaza's streets. After about 10 minutes all of the activists to joined the die-in were
arrested.
Ayala, one of the activists: "We pretended to be dead as an installation that is meant to
illustrate to the IDF's pilots the results of their actions in Gaza. A pilot who is at a hight of
thousands of feet, who aims toward a target, and presses a button, can ignore, forget or even not
grasp that in this very instant he killed innocent people. We came here to remind this.*
Since the beginning of this war, the air force has bombed Gaza 300 times. In these bombings more
than 400 Palestinians have been killed, hundreds of civilians. It is impossible to be against the
bombing of civilians in Sderot without being against massive killing of citizens in Gaza.
International Laws of War obligate as much avoidance as possible from harming civilians. The
Israeli air force's bombings on heavily populated Gaza cannot but harm civilians and are a war
crime. Every pilot that bombs Gaza bombs a civilian population and he is a war criminal.

Because of too many arrested early in the morning we participated in joint demonstrations against
the separation fence only in Jayyous - where lot of tear gas was used, and in Bil'in - which was
again an experimental field for "low lethal means for crowd control". This Friday In Bil'in, the
state force did another experiment with the noise machine and new bullets. In the experiment of the
noise machine, it replaced at the beginning most of the state repression. For long time they did
not use tear gas or shooting with rubber coated bullets in spite of intense barrage of stones thrown
by the kids. It seems the state force main task - besides the experiment, was to prevent the
recurring of the cutting of the separation fence as done on the Sunday demonstration against the war
in Gaza.
SATURDAY
During the week was distributed the call for demonstration on Saturday in the name of the coalition
of organizations against the war (in Gaza) - the Anarchists against the Wall initiative are in it:
"The killing in Gaza continues. Hundreds have been killed, thousands injured, air-strikes have
caused utter devastation and entire families are left homeless.
Civilians in the south of Israel are being held captive by a government which lies to them and
abuses them. Destruction and death in Gaza will not ensure their future, but rather lead to more
violence and killings.
Join us in protest this coming Saturday, 3.1.2009, in Tel aviv. Together we will call out:
Stop the Killing! No to the Siege! Yes to life for both peoples!

Please note: For the past week mass arrests have been carried out amongst Palestinian citizens of
Israel who are exercising their democratic right to protest. On Saturday, at 13:00, before the Tel
Aviv demonstration, a mass protest rally will be held in Sakhnin by the High Committee of Arab
Israelis against the killing in Gaza. Please make an effort to join – your presence is of the essence!
At the evening, after the highest court forbidden the police from interfering with the content of the demonstration thousand of people converged in the city square - including many who participated at the early afternoon in the demonstration at Sakhnin in the north. Few hundreds participated in the anarchist block. The drumming circle was the center of the block all along the demonstration. Anarchist flags banners and chants were targeted along the route by rightists who failed to cause any disturbance.
